The Traitors Australia: Episode #1.6 (2022)
RUINED the series future!
The minute SAM got the immunity I knew this show was over. Too much producer interference! You can tell they wanted to keep Sam on the show because of "ratings" but it really backfired and that producer interference just ruined the whole show!
They really should have just let the faithfuls play the actual game and let Sam get banished but NO they decided to let him go in to the immunity room FIRST and give him the immunity sword.
This was such a poor decision on the producers part and just kind of broke all immersion on this show.
So that is what I have to say and sorry this was long but conveniently you have to write "600" words to post a dang review, I guess the producers pushed that agenda on here too lol.
Star Trek: Picard: The Star Gazer (2022)
I'm honestly so surprised!!
I went in with VERY low expectations and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it!
-Starts off with cool action scene, and had decent pacing throughout the episode. I was fully GEEKING out when I saw beloved class Starships like Akira, Excelsior and EVEN SOVEREIGN! No copy + paste, thank god!
-They also explain a few discrepancies with Q and Guinan which should satisfy most. My only nit pick so far is the unprofessionalsm of the new captain! Smoking a cigar on the bridge? Barely any standard protocol and Agnes is drunk... on a Starfleet Bridge! Ugh! Other than that I'm excited for the rest!
Star Trek: Discovery: Choose to Live (2021)
Finally an episode that FEELS like classic Trek!
Hmm.. I really don't understand all the 1 star ratings. I'm a hardcore "old" Trek fan and I enjoyed this episode. Discovery isn't my favorite and it has its many flaws but I thought this episode was a step in the RIGHT direction! It "felt" like a classic Star Trek episode to me!
The politics, the action and the plot in general were enjoyable to watch! There was only some minor awkward dialogue scenes that DISCO can't seem to get rid of... but I hope Discovery continues down this path because I think they will start to please "old" hardcore fans like myself!
Foundation: Mysteries and Martyrs (2021)
The emperor is the reason to watch!
The episode started off boring. Seems like there is 3 story lines. Gaal Dornicks/Hardins/The emperor... BUT the emperors story line is why I'm still watching! The power dynamic between his reign and the religion that challenges it, is very compelling to watch! Not a fan of the other story lines!
Star Trek: Prodigy (2021)
People are forgetting it's a Kids show!
I'm a huge Voyager fan and Janeway is my favorite captain... so it's hard for me NOT to enjoy this! However it is a kids show keep in mind, so there are a lot of childish elements to it.. but that's okay! If you like Star Wars rebels, you'll like this also! It was cool to see the Kazon come back and the show being set in the Delta Quadrant! I'm most excited to see more Janeway!
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)
Nothing like the book OR movie... weird remake
WHAT WORLD ARE WE LIVING IN!? I'm sorry but a twin sister and her friends accidentally KILL her sister... and they all dump her in a cave?? AND she admits it to her DAD!? AND he keeps her secret!?!?!? The thing about the novel and movie, they kill a random person they don't know, and it's easier to believe they would panic and cover it up! BUT this show it's someone's flesh n blood. No way this would happen!! I'm sorry but I can't take this seriously.
Prom Night (2008)
Rated PG-13 made for TEENS! Stop complaining!
This movie gets a bad rep for all the wrong reasons! It's probably due to the Title "Prom Night" which was famously named after the original in 1980. So people usually compare the movies and assume it's suppose to be the same horror/slasher storyline. This "remake" was suppose to be a different plot with honestly its only resemblance to the original is sharing the same title. If you look at the movie through a teens lenses and come to the concussion that this PG-13 movie was a THRILLER not a "slasher" and made for teens. Then I think you'd enjoy this movie just like I did when I watched it for the first time in theaters at 16!
Bait (2012)
One of the better shark movies + Phoebe Tonkin is a babe!
It's definitely one of the better shark movies out there. I initially watched it cause of Phoebe Tonkin. I like anything she's in. I was pleased with the rest of the cast too. However I do wish the movie was a bit longer or had more action scenes. I appreciate the back story and character development. But some scenes were a bit dull and could've put more excitement during the shark attacks. I really liked it tho!
The Haunting of Sharon Tate (2019)
Why the fuss? Not Oscar worthy but I enjoyed it!
I don't know why people are so upset and rating this movie so low. The acting was mediocre at best. I wasn't expecting anything Oscar worthy anyways. However I think this movie had a lot of potential! I liked seeing the days of Sharons life up to her unfortunate death. I agree with most reviews that the ending was the best part of this movie! Very captivating and I wish more of the movie felt like the ending. I would've rated it higher if it were... but I don't believe this deserves lower than a 5; Be fair!
The Domestics (2018)
Weak beginning but strong and decent ending! Kate is a babe!
This movie had a lot of potential! However it started off very weak and choppy. The first 30 min gave barely any character development or any background to the plot. I think that was a huge missed opportunity for the movie which is why I only gave it a 6. All in all I did enjoy the movie towards the middle to the end! Plus Kate Bosworth is a babe and always a delight to see on screen!
