Outlander: Where the Waters Meet (2023)
An old friend has returned
I have scored every episode this season with a 10. And each deservedly so!
It is time to say thank you to the writers cast and everyone involved in this wonderful show. It feels like I am following along with the great Diana Gabaldon's books, and that is a good thing. The show stands on its own, of course, but there is so much content in the episodes we have had so far this season it feels like seasons before. All of the new characters are wonderful and the actors are portraying them beautifully. This season I am excited to see what's coming up and each new episode and I can't wait to see some old friends like Ian and Jenny in Scotland.
This Is Us: Us (2022)
Life Continues and Thank You Mr Fogleman
What a lovely way to end this wonderful story of the Pearsons. I felt it was a comma not a period in the telling of their story.
As far as the future goes we can take the seeds that were planted and picture what comes next, as we miss these friends we have made over the last seven years.
And DF reminded us of the impact that Jack and Rebecca have had on the family, even in the small things, as the Big Three remembered.both their parents on that day.
I have watched it twice looking for Phillip and wondering how Rebecca was sent home to Jack.
I will just imagine that her ashes were scattered around Jack's tree.
Chicago P.D.: Fractures (2021)

Great episode, Great performances from everyone, especially Voight and Halstead! And now we wait oh so long for the next episode. Want to say more but don't want to spoil it for anyone.
Outlander: Never My Love (2020)
Perfection
Powerful episode full of 'Easter Eggs' from episodes past, wonderfully woven into Claire's story. Have already watched it three times! What a way to end the season!! Everyone connected with the show should be congratulated on the entire season. Thank you Outlander family...
Outlander: Man of Worth (2019)

Outlander: The Battle Joined (2017)
Worth the Wait
Have been anxious for and dreading this episode, and it was worth the wait. Heartbreaking and beautiful, epic and intimate, this episode took me on a journey as exhausting as the finale of season 2, bending all my emotions.
The battle scenes were exciting, horrific. fierce and felt so real. The cast of warriors gave us everything!!! The battle was also beautiful and almost mystical and Sam Heughan broke my heart.
Between his last scenes at the standing stones, holding the wrap that Claire had been wearing, to clutching the dragonfly in amber as he waited to die on the battlefield, I cried. His performance was so nuanced throughout the episode. He was fierce in battle and yet he did not have to say a word.
In quiet moments, everything was conveyed through the expressions on his face: His farewell to Rupert, his expressions as his hopes to die there were dashed first by Rupert and then by Hal Gray. Finally the realization that upon arriving at Lallybroch he had not died and yet he is at death's door. All of it there in the expressions on his face. His performance was captivating.
Caitriona Balfe tore at the heartstrings, moving on as she had promised but not as she wanted. Her scenes with Tobias Menzies were heartbreaking and beautifully done. Her face said what she dare not say out loud because of an agreement she made with Frank. Caitriona is wonderful as Claire. She was heartbroken, grief stricken and lost and only the birth of her baby brightened her beautiful face.
Outlander (2014)
Best show ever
I initially watched this show for the historical element and because it was based in Scotland. But I was hooked from the first episode because it was so much more than I expected. It is now an event for me. I do not miss an episode and I watch it when it airs and not later.
I was introduced to our heroine Claire and her husband Frank in 1945 Scotland. Claire and the audience are then transported back in time to the highlands of Scotland in 1743! where she eventually encounters a group of highlanders including our hero Jamie. There is chaos, drama, adventure, intrigue, mystery, fighting, loving and romance, and all that in the first episode.
Kudoos to the writers, and directors for the words and journey each episode takes. It is beautiful to the eye and in spirit. If there is an emotion, felt by a character, I feel it too. They cry I cry, they celebrate I clap, they plot and do battle with the villian, I wish a pox upon his/her house.
Kudoos to the set designers and costume department . The sets are fantastic and the costumes are gorgeous. Everything looks so authentic. I cannot begin to imagine the time, care and detail that went into designing these wonderful elements of this amazing show. And Setting, , the location selection for each episode is a character itself, the mountains, the rivers, the castles, the palaces etc.
The music, to me you can ruin a scene or a show even with the wrong music! The music is wonderful, sometimes the music makes you soar, sometimes it makes you cry. It always adds and never detracts. The Outlander Yule Log is now my go to for the Christmas season. Turn it on, hum along, and start cooking or trimming.
I cannot say enough about the actors, all of them. They give life to these wonderful characters that I have grown to love. I miss them when they are gone but enjoy them all over again when I rewatch.
Jamie and Claire are played by Sam Heughan an Caitriona Balfe. There are not enough superlatives to describe the performance they give each and every episode. The words are written and they are beautiful words, but the words are in the hands of the actors to get us involved in the story. The nuanced performances they deliver are amazing, they can deliver a feeling an emotion without saying a word. they cry I cry, they feel joy so do I. They can battle, fight love and you are in their corner. These are wonderful characters played by remarkable and talented actors who bring them to life every episode. i thank them for sharing their extraordinary gift.
