Undercover Holiday (2022)
I'm not sure there's anything good about the movie
I LOVE hallmark Christmas movies but man this one was a huge flop! I didn't even finish the last 20 min. I just couldn't! I really really tried. Except for the grandma, the acting was terrible. Noemi Gonzalez, who plays the main character, sadly was not a good actress. Beautiful but couldn't sing and wasn't believable to be a famous singer. The chemistry between her and Stephen Huszar was the worst I've ever seen. I know "Christmas chick flicks" can be cringey but this was the cringey of them all. Please don't waste your time with this one. Skip it and go to another less cringey Christmas movie.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Can't Wait For The Next Season!
I do have to say the first 2 episodes were a little slow but there were a lot of characters, lands, and cultures to set up. Being a huge Lord of the Rings fan, my family was so excited when we heard this was coming out. All 6 of us enjoy every weekend watching the next episode. It's sad to hear the hates on it. All the 1 ratings are definitely haters. I can bet you most of them watched 2 episodes, gave a 1 star review and continued to watch the rest of the series. A 1 star rating would mean that you wouldn't waste your time with the remainder of the show.
We loved trying to figure out who some of the characters were gonna end up being. Well done! Can't wait for the next season!
Selling the OC (2022)
Was hoping it would get better
Selling Sunset had a little too much drama for me but the real estate and a couple of the relationships kept me watching. But this spin off is just ridiculous! Half the girls aren't even there to sell real estate. They are like little teenagers. It's no wonder none of them are married. They can't figure out how to communicate with each other nor how to act around a man. What Kayla did was absolutely wrong but what the other girls did was worse. Shame Kayla but still flirt and even get completely naked in front of these married men. Get rid of Alex, Polly and Kayla and I'll watch next season. Gio and the Alex's were great! Know real estate and most of the time we're level headed.
The Courtship (2022)
Could've been good!
Concept was intriguing but it contradicted itself. The setup was to be like it was in the regency era but not even the clothes matched this. The guys were half dressed half the time, bachelorettes dresses definitely didn't always follow the eras standards but what bothered me the most is that she sleeps with a guy when there's still 12 guys to choose from. I had high hopes for this dating series. I watched The Bachelor for 18 plus years and finally jumped ship 2 years ago cause it no longer was looking for 2 people to get married. It was about drama, unrealistic dating and sex. I wish there were a real courting dating show. Where people actually fell in love and wanted a family.
Mothers and Daughters (2016)
Refreshing mother/daughter movie
I love that this movie embraces and encourages family. The films today consciously and subconsciously deter people from those values. This one shows that families can be hard, take work and aren't perfect but they can bring happiness that can't be found else where.
Father of the Bride (2022)
Stressful to watch!
When I'm physically and mentally exhausted at the end of the day I just want to watch something that takes me away from the political craziness of this world. This movie had fun actors/actresses and a fun plot line but the details kept me exhausted. I'm so done with Hollywood throwing everything political in their movies. It's draining and irritating. I didn't finish the movie. I so badly wanted to just overlook it all but I couldn't relax so I turned it off.
Sweet Magnolias (2020)
Love 1st season! 2nd season... Boring!!!
I loved 1st season! Story lines and characters felt accurate. Story followed what a typical viewer of a show like this would like but then comes the long waited 2nd season and it's terrible! I'm in the 3rd episode hoping it'll get better and it's not. Story lines feel forced and character relationships don't line up well. I'm so so sad cause this really had potential.
Addicted to Porn: Chasing the Cardboard Butterfly (2017)
Good but needs to be more basic
I just finished watching the documentary and then read a bunch of reviews. It's weird to me to see a bunch of people rate it a 1 and say it's all made up. There's several researchers and lots of people interviewed and they are saying there's no merit. I love the statistics in it and loved the fact that was pointed out about how parents aren't teaching their kids about a real sexual relationship and their kids are learning it from porn which isn't realistic. I have had porn in my life directly and indirectly. I have seen it ruin marriages and relationships and families. Porn makes you view people in a different way that is not positive that's a fact because of my life experiences.
