It's a Sin (2021)
Wonderful. Moving. Eye opening.
"La"
First off, everyone needs a Jill in their life. An angel on earth.
Secondly, Colin. Sob, that was heart wrenching, what an actor.
Thirdly, everything! The entire cast were incredible, the writing, outstanding. The development of all the characters, unparalleled.
You just wish everyone had parents like Jill's or Mum's like Colin's. Sadly that wasn't the case, to know that so many men died alone, shamed both in life and death. It's heartbreaking.
Love the Coopers (2015)
I'm surprised by the good reviews!
I love Christmas, I love Christmas movies and when we saw the cast even my Bah Humbug Husband was willing to watch it.
I had to apologise to him for selecting it.
The Character Eleanor, played by Olivia Wilde was so hugely unlikable it was totally unrealistic that she'd have poor Joe smitten by the end of the night!
The casting decision for Diane Keaton's sister made no sense. Nothing against the actress but she looked like she could be her daughter! I think there's 20 years between the actresses yet the flashbacks from their childhoods suggest an age gap of about 5 years!! It didn't work.
Only two enjoyable parts; Aunt Fishy letting the dog take the blame for her fart and the cute revelation at the end that the 'dog' had been the narrator/Steve Martin.
That's all I've got. Cute dog. Crap film.
The Cabin with Bert Kreischer (2020)
Episode 4 was such awkward viewing.
I really like Bert's stand up (The Machine!!) so was looking forward to this show. Some of the guests were entertaining and I appreciated the diversity (more so than the constant nakedness!)
Episode 4 however was one of the most unpleasant, awkward things I've ever seen. Ms Pat was vile and so disrespectful. Kaley Cuoco was treated so badly by her and Bert didn't help matters, I'm glad Joel rescued her with a trip to the shop when he did!
The Sinner (2017)
Avoid season 3
Season 1: Cora - Great, wonderful acting, compelling story.
Season 2: Julian - Good, worth a watch.
Season 3: Jamie - Give it a miss, I had high hopes but had to give up after episode 4, it was so boring.
My rating of 5 is the combined rating.
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (2018)
Really enjoyed it.
This was one of those rare random picks that pleasantly surprise. I really enjoyed this series, plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. I guessed a couple, but many I didn't and one in particular floored me! Some great acting; 'Nola' and her Dad in the latter episodes I felt were particularly strong. 'Harry' and 'Marcus' were wonderfully consistent.
Older 'Mrs Quinn's' wig was pretty awful lol, but really can't criticise much else.
Really enjoyed it, give it more than 2 episodes, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Christmas in Wonderland (2006)
One to miss.
I gave this a go because of some familiar names in the cast; that was a mistake. Cringeworthy throughout.
