Wolf (2023)
Terrible in every sense
The story is terrible, the acting is even worse. People don't even put up a fight, one is hand cuffed to the leg of a table, lift the table and she is free.
The scenery is beautiful, some lovely places in south Wales, the country house in Ewenny is beautiful.
But the plot is really thin, so is the script. How they managed to drag this out for the whole six episodes is the biggest amazement.
There are also flaws in continuity, but I'll let all of you long suffering watchers discover those for yourselves.
Really really terrible, and to think the BBC have been advertising this for a while, what a waste of our TV licence money.
The Pogmentary (2022)
If I could give it 0 I would
The guy is so full of himself, does he think the world evolves around him.
He may have the biggest head in football but certainly not the biggest talent.
Wherever he ends up, he won't be on as much as the "nothing" offer he laughed off, history will show it was a better deal than he will get elsewhere.
Some other footballers documentaries you can watch even if you don't like them, and still appreciate the mindset and the talent of the player. This is definitely not one of those, Pogba has no redeeming characteristics at all.
Come from Away (2021)
Amazing, emotional, funny, informative, it literally ticks every box
This show was truly outstanding, it has a diverse cast in both ethnicity and age. Yet it doesn't seem deliberate to have done so unlike so many other things nowadays.
This show is emotional as it touches on the feelings around 9/11, but also heart warming as it also shows the best of what humanity is.
This really is a show that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, one minute you are in tears, the next you are laughing.
It makes you want to visit Gander to meet the locals.
Death in Paradise (2011)
This changes with every new detective but still stays the same
I have loved Death in Paradise ever since the first series. Even the change in detectives changes it slightly but somehow manages to still stay the same, all credit to the writers for this.
My favourite is Humf, but on the other hand I don't dislike any of the others, they are different but all have redeeming characteristics.
So glad there will be a series 11 and 12, it's too good to not have on TV, I even watch the older series on Alibi, so easy to watch and enjoy.
Death in Paradise: Fake or Fortune (2021)
Brilliant 2 parter
I love DiP and this 2 part story was brilliant, it felt different and special from the start, thank you BBC.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
So slow and dull
They try to get you interested in the next episode by throwing in an interesting story bit in the last minute of every episode, but then the next episode is dull, slow and disappointing.
I wanted to like this as I'm a Star Trek TNG fan but this is very disappointing
Avenue 5 (2020)
Honestly wanted to like this
Does this contain spoilers....... nope there really is nothing to spoil.
This is so terrible I had to watch the 2nd episode to see if I was missing something, and the answer is yes I was. I was missing an hour of my life that I'll never get back.
The storyline is thin to say the least, there isn't 1 single likeable character and the satellite delay joke was old after the first 10 times in the first episode.
I would say you have to see it to believe how poor this is, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone, avoid at all costs.
Cats (2019)
Nowhere near as bad as everyone makes out
Yes the first half of the film is slow and quite dull, however as is the way with west end shows, the 2nd half is much better.
I know I'm in the minority but I actually really like CGI, it adds the feline characteristics to the actors, the little ear movements and tail movements add to the reality of this film
There are 2 dodgy performances by Jason Derulo and Ray Winstone, particularly highlighted when there is a scene from Sir Ian McKellen just after a Jason Derulo scene and they are polar opposites in performance. Other than that all are passable with the two leads dancing beautifully.
