Rabbit Hole (2023)
Jack Bauer? No John Weir
So, I'm not the only one who's probably going to say this, but, KS is always going to be Jack Bauer. Jack Bauer was deadly serious 24/7/365.. that's what made Bauer a bad ass.
In this show, Weir is a bad ass, but he's kind of comedic. Every now and then I hear Bauer, but I know I have to try to let Bauer go and accept KS is now John Weir!
The show so far is really good. There are a lot twists which is to be expected. I'm sure all questions will be answered in upcoming episodes.
I like the pace, the acting is good. The violence is not overly done.
The BEAUTIFUL lady with Weir is fine asf. I'm hoping this show lasts.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Love it
You'll either love it or hate it. I love it. I Imagine a new pristine world being strange like this. I expect the environment to be beautiful, provisional, and hostile.
I like the small steps that are being taken and not a rushed story.
The only episode that was disappointing (still good) was the birth on the rocks.
I am hoping for season three. I'm hoping that they show how "god" created humans. I'm hoping that god is a super ancient alien computer.
I'm hoping that it's like battle star galactica where at the end, they arrive on a earth where primitive man lives and man evolves from the technology.
Kings of Jo'burg (2020)
Don't Compare To Western TV
It looks like they were using a hiphop styled format based of Black American gangster models.
All the high end cars, the suits, the mansions.
That being said, I liked the storyline. And not all stories can be tied up in a bow for viewers. Sometimes stories fall off a cliff that's how real life works.
I love the women in the show! I am attracted to Zulu women so that was nice.
I also liked how they used their native tongue in some of the dialogue. No and the shopkeep are matched well.
I believe in supporting International entertainment that offer purer acting without all the explosive cgi, over sexualized characters, and hxmxsexuality.
I look forward to watching more.
Svart krabba (2022)
I Enjoyed this Film
This is a good film. It really is. If you were in the position these guys were, their responses would or should be your responses.
The ice skating though seemed really grueling! The violence was very realistic, not like in American movies.
The ice scenes had my anxiety levels sky high.
I do t know what started the conflict, but it felt more real than black hawk down.
As I watched this film I kept thinking how humans could turn on each other and even consider wars, so in that sense, the movie was kind of sad.
Another thing I liked about this film is the accuracy of situations. Falling on the cracked ice to spread your weight, the way they handled their weapons.
If you're used to American movies, I can understand why you'd give this a low rating because there is no loud, overbearing hip hop soundtracks. No over the top pyrotechnics, and no overrated actors.
The Blacklist (2013)
Everyone hates Keen, Especially Me!
Reddington rocks! His stories are the best. Keen's character is so bipolar its like living in a bad toxic relationship. If her character were a real life person, her psyche evaluation wouldnt let her become an agent in any agency.
Watchers know this is acting, but we watchers want to watch a more serious show. Spader is serious, Djembe is serious, the criminals are serious, the fbi is serious, the only childish element happens to be the central character. The only other character that is near equal in annoyance is Aram and Donald. The both of them are rated G, but they are support characters so they can't be as responsible for the show as Keen.
I hope she reads this review. Even though she might be a really nice REAL person, her character is tiring.
2036 Origin Unknown (2018)
Good story, ahead of technology
The comments on this film show how small and immature the vast majority of sci-fi fans have become. It it is obvious that we are more interested in spectacular light shows in 4k and not the storyline.
The storyline is always the heart of the show, the characters; human or robot, are parts of a whole.
The story provides an introduction to what may or is possible.
Relying on graphics and music scores to entertain only shows how childlike we have digressed.
We see ideas of a simulation, wormholes, reality. I've always loved Kate. She's a good, sexy actress. I look forward to seeing her in other sci-fi movies. She is queen of the genre.
The movie is good.
1899 (2022)
The Matrix Retold
Alright my first opinion about this was waaaay off. By episode 8 it'll make sense. When I saw episode seven I was impressed and I can tell those who speak I'll of this show didn't watch it all.
Imagine coming to the infallible conclusion that our life is a simulation and nothing about us is real.. imagine realizing that our individual selves is nothing but an electrical impulse in a vast simulated world.
We are so in love with this simulation. Imagine there are others in the desert of the real trying to wake us up but we don't understand the language they're using.
If you haven't watched this yet, please do but with a cerebral mind not an entertainment eye.
Earth: Final Conflict (1997)
Please Reboot!
Because technology is what it is now in 2022, looking at this 1997 series is laughable..., but enjoyable. Kincaid is hilarious! Augur is more hilarious!
One of the best things about this series is there is no PC scripting, no cookie cut characters, and no over sexualization.
If this show is ever rebooted, I'll probably hate it, but I really would like a good, well written reboot.
The Endgame (2022)
It looks good. Fast paced!
I hope this don't flop because of stank reviews. It looks good. I like to see smart women doing smart things.
The Black woman is fine fine fine!! The white woman is an OG actress, I really hope this last!
Reacher (2022)
Not The Reacher I Expected
Like Batman, Reacher is a story best told in a literary format. Adaptations of these kind of characters falls flat every time.
This Reacher character fits the size Childs described, and he's a decent enough actor, but he is not Reacher from the books.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Matrix's Biggest Fan
I'm a Matrix fan. I was excited as hell when it was announced this would come out 12/21.
I was looking forward to so mind blowing thought provoking dialogue and cgi effects.
This iteration fell flat in all my expectations.
The matrix is about explaining the illusion Simulacra and Simulation!!
It seems everything made nowadays is low brow and without depth.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
I've tried to like it
The love fest that occurs every episode leaves me nauseous. Everyone is so full of unrealistic love, denying their own emotional impulses for the sake of starfleet protocols. I'm left thinking if discovery is an indication of how sheeple minds will evolve, then I'm glad I'll never see star date Star Trek discovery time.
The Orville (2017)
Seth Is a Sci-BadAss
I never thought I'd like this show. But after watching season two, I'm impressed with Seth McFarlane. I really don't like some aspects of the characters, (homosexual) but s2:e5&6) changed it for me.
Level 16 (2018)
A pedophile-ish movie
I felt dirty watching this. Especially when the first guy was looking over the two girls.
Throughout, I kept getting uncomfortable vibes.
It was something interesting though if there is nothing else to watch.
The orderlies with the shades made the low budget kind of more low budget.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
A Well Done Animation
Very well done! The story was great, but what really impressed me was the motion and tweens. I am not a cartoon or animation fan, but I could watch this.
The Knowledge of the Forever Time (2015)
Where is Damon T. Berry!?
I'm a fan of DTB. I enjoyed his delivery, his conclusions, and the subject matter. I wish he came back and continued teaching.
Anyone who can go against the establishment like he did and give alternative opinions (based on plausible facts), I would listen to.
It is rare to find a melanated researcher who is as organized and well read on this particular subject matter.
Most of the time, you hear from Ancient Alien Theorists, and to be honest, I think that group is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, but Damon, seems to make more sense.
Truth Seekers (2020)
Interestingly Funny
I enjoyed the episodes. I'm not comedy interested at all, but this one was tame enough for me to sit through them all.
Those who don't like the show are either way too serious or way too full of buffoonery.
And... awake!
I hope they make more episodes.
Jiok (2021)
Decent entertainment
My first Asian show. I watched it and I enjoyed it. You have to look at it as if you're Korean, not American to enjoy it.
The death angels were badass I was surprised at those who died.
Colony (2016)
I love the show minus a few things
Will is a long haired FBI agent? These kinds of shows make me hate kids!! They are so problematic during a crisis!
I thought Katie and Broussard would hook up.
A powerful gew in Hollywood? Hahaha! Some things never change.
Not enough representative diversity.
Early termination of a decent story.
The Expanse (2015)
An Excellent Course In Futurism
Watching the Expanse is like sitting in your favorite class listening to the professor lecture. If you pay attention, you'll learn something about theoretical interstellar politics and social philosophy.
If you get up to check the dinner in the oven, you may very well miss a vital aspect that make the rest of the episode not make sense.
Another Life (2019)
Season 2 Was OUTSTANDING
Season one was really good. Season 2 was badass! The story and flow, the ending. I absolutely loved it. The relationships, the adventures, all of it came together.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Outstanding
They looked like they enjoyed making this film. The chemistry was good! Well done!! All the majors did a fantastic job.
The right amount of violence and right amount of storytelling.
And not a single white person (or anyone for that matter) used the 'n' word.. if they did, I missed it.
4400 (2021)
CW is Pioneering Diverse Entertainment
Checking out the reviews I can see people are not accustomed to seeing predominantly nonwhite entertainment. It's different, strange, scary.
I appreciate The CW for what they are doing. I only hope that more Black viewers support this show. I hope other networks are watching as well.
I enjoyed the show. I enjoyed that the show with so many Melanated people in it didn't "code switch".
I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Invasion (2021)
A Quality Story - So far
Most young people are action-oriented when it comes to entertainment like this. But this show draws you into people's lives when a catastrophic event happens.
It's storytelling!
Young people these days want to to see explosions, car chases, and sex, the story has become unimportant.
This is telling simultaneous stories and bringing them together with a common event.
So far, so good.
La Brea (2021)
Nothing else to watch, so this'll do
This is the kind of storyline that is written to stir emotions in the viewer. Even bad reviews are good. Bad reviews cause others to watch for themselves. The more views, the more ad revenue.
That being said, this show is really bad, but there is nothing else on entertainment-wise.
I know that humans are not as dumb as these actors are portraying; if so, if these people represent the mindset of real people, then I fear for society if something real happens.
