End of the Century (2003)
Rock and roll radio..let's go!
Some brilliant interviews here and not just with the Ramones.A chance to hear from friends and family,an insight into their opinions of the goings-on between the members. It was great for me to see Mickey Leigh in particular as he is also a fantastic musician and a very friendly guy. I was surprised at how much I agreed with Johnny's opinion,he was very to the point and down to earth. The only thing that I would criticise about this documentary is that they do not mention anything about his death which I do think they could have added in before it got released. It's obvious in this film that without Johnny and his attitude, the band would have fallen apart in seconds.
Ramones Raw (2004)
the best documentary yet
This is the ideal documentary for Ramones fans.Well,I say documentary but it's really Marky Ramone goofing around with his own camera occasionally catching snapshots of interviews with some excellent performances in between. It's lighthearted and complete fun and games. It gives Ramones fans insights into the jokes that the guys shared, the names they called each other, and the pranks they played on each other.A chance to see them in a natural environment and not at each other's throats.
After a painful past three years of losing three members of the band, this DVD reminds fans of the positive times that Johnny,Joey,CJ,Dee Dee and Marky shared with each other.
