Black Mirror at Home:
Space Force (2020)
Took a few episodes to get into...
I actually enjoyed the show a lot, but that whole Chimpanzee episode was just terrible.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
My Favorite Black Mirror Episode
An elaborate commentary that explores the multifaciality of the human experience. It was a wonderful viewing pleasure to be able to witness the episode's technological exploration of a never-before-seen challenge to family values, our own cultural morals, and to love and sexuality itself. I thoroughly enjoyed the well-developed likeable characters (something rare in that most Black Mirror characters are designed to be dislikable) and the incredible job of all lead actors in creating cohesive feeling transitions between the real and VR worlds. It was an especially satisfying ending when the moral conflict of the story was resolved with responsible action from the husband and wife through communication in their relationship; leading to a final scene that would make everyone happy. I also particularily felt that this episode had a more "grounded in reality" feel to it than previous episodes; likely because of the flawless set design, scriptwriting, character writing, and plot writing, along with an incredibly believable cast with great on-screen chemistry.
Although the exact premise within this episode's "video game" would be technically impossible in real life, it is not far from the strange and new emotional, sexual, and indescribable experiences to be discovered in the growingly virtual, over-the-internet and technological culture we live in. As an angsty teen that has personally sought out and tried new experiences not unlike that of our characters in "Striking Vipers," I can safely say that the emotional experiences this episode provides are absolutely correlative with the genuine human experience. Incredible Storytelling, I also appreciated the bits of humor in the episode, 10/10 for sure.
Inrang (2018)
Good.
Entertaining and quite intelligent combat and action sequences throughout the movie; however, remarkably dumb reasons provided by the plot to explain the purpose of this combat. I thought all of the fighting and firefights of the movie were incredibly unique and interesting as far as movies go, the setting was also something that I enjoyed. But, it really feels as if the actions of any character become pointless, especially during the third act of the movie.
How It Ends (2018)
Crappy
There are very few movies that I find difficult to watch all the way through. This is one of them.
