My favorite genres are comedies, horror, animated, and I guess superhero is now a genre. I am easygoing with anything.
Currently I enjoying Barry on HBO, awaiting season 3.
Actors Im rather fond of are: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sebastian Stan, Hayden Christensen, Andy Samberg, Jack Black, James Ransone, Oscar Isaac, Bill Hader and the list could go on. I pretty much stalk their filmography to find new movies.

Bloomin Mud Shuffle (2015)
Wasn't sure what to expect, pleasantly surprised.
I've been going on a James Ransone movie spree ever since viewing "It Chapter Two". He is an incredible actor, and his range is phenomenal, but when watching the film I was uncertain what to expect. It turned out to be a very grounded and unique film, which I ended up enjoying to the highest extent. What I liked most about it was there was no real plot, nothing eventful ever happened, there wasn't that traditional downfall in the film where the character faces something so drastic to change everything by the very end and get a happy ending. (Which if I'm honest is so worn out these days, you're always awaiting that falling point in the film when things are going well, but that's a roller coaster for you.) It was instead very much like real life, bad things happen and we feel very much alone and or dissatisfied with the lives we are living. Not everyone may feel that way, but for those who do, we just do. I loved this concept, the direction it took us, and how the character felt human. A lot of times films push too much, they have agendas to meet and or are trying to preach some message, and while it's not terrible, it can get a little too overrun. And for a comedy I was expecting this to be messy, but it was nothing like that, we follow the lead character Lonnie (Ransone) as he is struggling with his life, he's not generally happy with things, he's been doing the same job pretty much his whole life, the relationship with a girl he is in love with is going no where, she's not ready for a serious relationship, but will come by for sex, and he wants more in their relationship, and what surprised me was they didn't really end up together, he comes to terms with the fact that she probably isn't the one by the end of the film, and usually films give characters happy endings and good romance, somehow they manage to get the girl, and so I was highly impressed with the way they decided to move the characters, how again, real it truly felt, we sometimes want things in life that can be bad for us, or that we'll never receive, no matter what it may be. I do recommend this to anyone who is in the mood for something a little different than they are used to watching, I was inspired by the message they did end up telling by the end. "One step at a time" (not the exact words) doing small things and doing things for people instead of yourself help give your life meaning. And by the end of the film Lonnie was doing just that.
So yeah I give it eight stars, It was a wonderful hidden gem of a movie.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Captain Marvelous, I should say.
To start it all off, I just want to say that there are too many butthurt fans out there today who couldn't just enjoy the movie for what it was, fun.
No, we focus more on drama and politics to truly enjoy the hard work placed into this film. Was it Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Absolutely not, if it was that wouldn't make the film very special, this film is Captain Marvel, and it did a wonderful job being it's own movie. Filled with fun Easter eggs, references (MCU history and 90s) well written characters, and a great plot. I honestly couldn't ask for more but a sequel, maybe even some deleted scenes, or extended version, but I do think the film was perfectly fine all on it's own.
I'm keeping this spoiler free so everyone can read if they are wary about this film. Take the film as it is a sci-fi-superhero film, don't compare it to anything else, not Star Wars, Guardians, Wonder Woman or any other film, just take it as it is, because it's being it's own movie it isn't competing against any film, it's just telling you Carol Danvers' story, and it did a good job, her origin, is original, it's hardly anything like the comics but they did well with what they did, Usually I get upset when the comic accuracies are so far away it's like they are a brand new character with the same name, but 21 movies later I've come to realize this is A Marvel universe, not 616, And it is their own universe like The Ultimate Universe, and now any inaccuracies no longer bother me, because in the end it's adapting, adapting isn't staying the same, it changes, and it makes changes that would work better for a film, and I do say this origin did well with the film. I'm excited to see Carol Danvers in future MCU projects and of course her own Trilogy, might I add, Thanos you have a run for your money, I now have seen all she can do in just like one film, she is very powerful, but she's still only human, and I loved that, Carol felt balanced, she was confused, angry, sad, stubborn, happy, hilarious and I could relate, she felt so many emotions and was able to channel them with her powers, and that's something not many can do (as often they are told emotions are weaknesses) she showed them as a strength, you can't always control your emotions, but you can aim them.
This movie went passed my expectations which were quite high if I do say so myself.
The characters, I mentioned before, wonderful, the were written so well, they thought out so much for this film, how they handled the Kree-Skrull war, the action and humor, they never seemed to miss a beat as I loved every aspect of this film, I know. When I give a movie 10 stars I mean it, I don't mess around with star ratings, this was a film I wanted to back in and watch again, it was a fun ride and it's one I'm going to watch about 20 times a year, it levels up with the great ones (in my opinion) Movies I rank 10 stars are ones I will watch over and over or films I felt were so powerful I save it for once every year so it's always special, this one is in the border, it blew me away, but it's fun enough that I don't think that special status will just go away over time.
I wholeheartedly welcome Carol Danvers to the MCU. This film was Marvelous. And I can't wait for the real fans to fix the ratings on here. You tried that with Black Panther, it seems like you cannot embrace change.
Green Lantern (2011)
You don't have to do big things.
Now I see lots of hate for this movie and I can see why most of you guys do not like it. Nothing like the other big budget superhero films, this one of course didn't seem to do anything wrong not in my opinion. It was funny, inspiring and entertaining all I look for in a film. Hal Jordan seemed in character a little cocky, fun guy who learns to take some responsibility in his hands. Was his character perfect? No that of course is one of the reasons I loved him and was glad that they kept him mostly in character and Ryan's performance was really good. Carol Ferris was actually likable as usually I don't like her. The villains were good, nice to see them use parallax for a villain. He could've been better but keeping him from main focus was a nice touch. My few complaints were that I wish we got to see Green Lantern more like stopping bad guys such as thugs or bank robbers just for fun before moving to really big stuff. Though I get that he thought he wasn't worth being a green lantern. I think spending more time on his origin wasn't as fun to watch, which is why I was hoping for a sequel. Some characters could have been better other than that it was surprisingly good! My favorite parts are yes the suit I really liked it, nice touch to make it alien like. The visuals were pretty good. Plot was alright good enough for a superhero film. I have actually watched it three times now and don't get why so many people don't like it, it was really fun and had some nice emotional touches as in humans aren't perfect, but they are strong. Pretty good message for when I first watched it I was 11 and was expecting it to be trash when I re watched it. You can have your Batman and Avengers I'll sit here watching Green Lantern, and laughing. Really the jokes were quite good!
