Some people will.never be satisfied...
10 August 2022
During its original airing showtime refused to end the series the way the writers wanted...it ended in a way that brings closure to the character of Dexter.

Raylan Givens always gets his man. Modern day western and fantastic character development. The twisting story between Boyd Crowder and Raylan Givens is incredible start to finish. Do not pass up this series.

Its not about the procedural medical drama so much as what happens with the doctors behind the scenes....

Excellent mystery drama. Excellent acting the medical stuff can be a bit repetitive but ita the behind the scenes doctors lives that enthrall one to keep watching until the final scenes that ultimately make this series 100% worth watching.

A breakdown of each season
29 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 follows the book to a T. Altho certain characters dont actually make it past this season in the book.

Season 2: scuba divers discovering the dumping grounds of Dexter. Which brings the FBI into town, while his fellow cop tails him and discovers his secret to his detriment.

Season 3: opens with dexter tracking a heroin dealer in which he walks in on the AGs brother fighting said drug dealer,. Leads dexter to kill him and after a search his ag brother finds the search and befriends dexter but goes off the rails quickly.

Season 4 was the absolute best season by far John Lithgow was superb as the villain.

Season 5 the barrel girl murders was an interesting take.

Season 6 introduces a religious by far the worst season but you get to see Brian Moser again. Leads up to the ultimate reveal, which attributes to the slow burn finish of the series.

Season 7 dexter tales down a lover for a Ukrainian mob boss. Laguerta is hell bent on bringing dexter in to face charges of attempted murder, with absolutely no proof. Deb is faced with a choice that ruins her character.

Season 8 gets alot of flak. However the deep dive into the psychological past of dexter was refreshingly different to bring to the forefront so late. And the finale made perfect sense considering we are getting a final reboot to potentially make hopd on the decision of how to end the original series.

After rooster the dynamics changed but the ending was so bittersweet...
9 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first 5 parts were incredible. Nick chasing rooster off with a gun and a packed bag was unnecessary and until danny had his day in court, no matter the verdict, but he was tried, convicted, and executed from this show.

Dax shepherd shows up and frustrates you with his selfishness that annoyed to no end, until you realize its hisnotsd from war in the last part it really delves into it. This was worth sticking thru even when they screwed Danny Mastersons character over.

I stumbled across this upon my bosses recommending it...
20 March 2021
Excellent casting. I was hooked from the pilot cold open. I proceeded to binge all 9 available seasons in just 4 days. The camaraderie with this cast is excellent...with enough vulgarity and unpleasantness in conversation to keep one tuned in most characters are engaging and this one makes you pay attention. F. Covid. This show needs to last a good long while, because its dynamite gold.

This show is perfect

I've been to Canada once in 97. I dont remember mich about the people, as I was 12. The language used and the complexity is incomparable for most shows I've ever seen.

Need more TV series like this. Took me 4 days to watch all 9 seasons available so far. This series is amazing.

Just another day....
14 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It follows a dark LA cop squad. From the outset, you just know they are ne'erdowells with badges. The side stories sometimes outweigh the strike teams main objective.

Season 1 starts with the strike team planning to kill one of their own. It leads down a deep and dark path. Whilst very effective as a crime fighting unit. The line btw good and bad is completely skewered after the first episode.

Season 2: the strike team learns about a money laundering operation, and seeks to rob it blind. Leaving no details unearthed. They succeed in infiltrating it, their problems have just begun....

Season 3: the Armenians learn that their cash has been stolen, they infiltrate LA, hunting down and chopping off the feet of anyone they suspect. The strike team pretend everything is normal and seek to keep their crime spree a secret while orchestrating things to appear that it wasnt them.

Season 4: sees the introduction of Captain Rawlings, whom brings very unpopular policies with Aceveda, working an angle of sabotage against her. Antwon Mitchell(Anthony Anderson) being the main culprit.

S eww ason 5: seems the introduction of Kavanaugh, an IAD investigator, hellbent in busting Mackey and his strike team, after discovering lemansky had a brick of tar heroin in his car, seeks to get him to flip, the team begins turning on one another. Shane vendrell in a misinformation scamper, drops a grenade into lems lap, while the strike team looks to separate themselves from him, which he agrees is best for the team. The season ends with vic and kavanaugh in a fistfight when he blames bic for lems murder. Vic seeks the blood of the killer.

Season 6: vic begins sussing out who killed Lem, he uses every avenue of discovery to find out who killed lem, even torturing and killing the lead suspect. Halfway thru the season vic discovers by accident that shane killed Lem, and a crossroads is reached and the stroke team never recovers...

Season 7: vic on a race against time streaking towards the inevitable end to their tales, hooks himself to an ICE investigation against a mexican drug kingpin to give himself and ronnie Gardocki immunity for their crimes, he witnesses his ex wife arrested, not knowing that she is colluding with his old police station, ronnie shows up with a bag of cash, which implicates him. Vic confesses without Ronnie's involvement in the deal. Leaving him on the legal hook for their crimes, Shane poisons his pregnant wife and son killing them, and commits suicide as the police break down his door on a search warrant. Vic completes his bust, certifying his full immunity deal. Claudette calls vic and ronnie to the barn, where she reveals that shane killed his family before killing himself, leaving behind a suicide note meant to implicate vic. When vic breaks an interrogation camera, claudette informs dutch to arrest ronnie in front of vic, vic leaves the barn to find out his ex wife put herself and her kids into witness protection to get away from him, vic is assigned to desk duty for a 3 year deal, where he has lost everything.

Take the kid out of the equation.

This followed the books very closely with a few sub changes that didnt hinder the overall story.

Loved the backstory, and loved the main story. This was a fantastic watch as well as read. If you cant get passed the kid's acting. Read the books.

So worth it.

A surreal look into the mind of a psychopathic serial killer...
16 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Season one: doakes was the #1 antagonist for dexter. Always up Dexter's ass. I wish they didnt have him as onto him as he was. The ITK was phenomenal, and season 1 really took me out of my comfort zone. From "tonight's the night..." to "in your darkest dreams." I was absolutely hooked. Season 2: a couple of scuba divers stumble across Dexter's dumping grounds bringing the FBI right to dexter's doorstep. Leading the way was Special Agent Frank Lundy. An on the nose investigator that follows the evidence where it leads, while always bringing his ideas to his culprit just to be turned away. May have been the best season if not for season 4 and the trinity killer. Season 3: Dexter goes after a drug dealer and winds up killing the district attorney of Miami's baby brother. I'd give this season a 7/10. I love Jimmy Smits. He was an excellent part on this show. When I learned he was directing the skinner near the end, and actually captured dexter nice surprise ending. Season 4: I'd say this was the best season ever. John lithgow and Michael C. Hall were absolutely incredible. The ending left me in tears. As soon as I heard Rita's phone ring, I just knew, and then seeing her in the bathtub and Harrison on the floor covered in his mother's blood. I was left empty inside. Season 5: a group of childhood friends, kidnap, torture, rape, and kill their victims after they've all had their turns of pass the astroglide. Jordan chase is a formidable foe, as debra closes in on her brother unknowingly...debra has a human emotion that not just crying and whining, she was empathetic and let's their final victim walk away, not knowing her brother was also in the room. Season 6: (as an atheist, I tend to be bothered by religion in shows) you were lead to believe from the outset that there are two killers, while dexter is searching for professor Gellar, his protege, travis is going around setting up biblical end of times rapture style killings, later dexter discovers that gellar has been stabbed to death and put in a freezer. Thereby eliminating one of Dexter's threats. Dexter tries to figure out what the last tableau is while.learning his sons life hangs in the balance. He also befriends an excon who has turned toward religion and leads a relatively normal social rehabbing genuinely good guy named Sam. When sam is shot and ultimately killed, dexter finds out, a guy sam was trying to get out of the gang life, a gang has ordered him to kill brother Sam. Dexter drowns him only to be met with this his brother. At the end of the season dexter has travis on a table and is revealing his ritual of his stlaknand kill to his never being able to talk victim. He doesn't know that debra has come to examine the church, and she walks in on dexter delivering the death strike, which catches dexter off guard. Season 7: we are lead to believe that debra has turned dexter in for murder as he is running towards an airport. Hes actually on the hunt for the man who killed a fellow officer in his department. He kills him but the worst is only just beginning. The guy dexter kills is thebgay lover if a Ukrainian big wig shot caller, he also meets hannah McKay, a fellow serial killer. He falls in love, which is the antithesis of a serial killer, they can't feel anything. Season 8: it takes us back to Dexter's upbringing, Harry's struggle with Dexter's psychopathy, and a psychologists interpretation to help harry cope with it. After harry walks in on one of Dexter's kills, he sees first hand dexters delight of taking another humans life. And he cannot live with himself. He kills himself. Debra is also struggling to cope with Dexter's lifestyle and tries tinrehab him from killing. The psychologists son jealous if his mothers passion for dexter and her own disgust towards her own sons extracurricular activities, she has him committed which he doesnt take to kindly to, kidnaps debra and is about to kill her when dexter intervenes. Dexter decides to give debra the chance to send him to rosion but he gets lose fatally shooting her as dexter plans to get away with hannah. He sends hannah with Harrison to Argentina, debra ultimately dies from her gunshot wound. And dexter decides to keep those save by faking his own death, and becoming a lumberjack.

We dug coal together!
27 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It starts off with, our star character Raylan Givens, walking up on a Miami gangster who has been told to leave town within 24 hours or I will shoot you in sight. Raylan delivers the fatal shot that jumpstarted this entire series. The only weak link season for me was season 5. I like the Crowe family, but season 5 left alot to be desired. It was still good. To the penultimate episode of a true showdown between Boyd Crowder(Walton Goggins) and Raylan Givens(Timothy Olyphant) for the case he had been following for 6 seasons. Raylan always gets his man. And this is a 15/10 show with excellent writers, cast, and supporting characters that drive this all the way to the end.

Raglan always gets his man
11 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It opens up in Miami, where Timothy Olyphant (Raylan Givens) approaches a man in which he gave 24 hours to get out of town, and tells him he has two minutes to disappear or hes gonna shoot him to death on sight....after a tense standoff, (Tommy Bucks) Peter Greene draws a weapon and Raylan returns fire killing the man. He gets in hot water with his bosses for his cowboy western style approach to the law, and it transferred to his hometown of Harlan county, Kentucky. Hes given the task of bringing his childhood friend, Walton Goggins(Boyd Crowder) to justice for his white supremacy crimes, along the way rsylan has to deal with his exwife bfs drama, the Dixie mafia out if Detroit, the miscellaneous bad guys that cross his path, and his own demons.

Every season and every episode builds to a penultimate finale that leaves a bittersweet feeling in your head, and a somber yet satisfying conclusion, this series is one of my top 10 favorite series of all time.

Worth the watch if you enjoyed the original but it is a live action, my wife and I loved it, but agree Aladdin was better.
1 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The battle sequences were very cinematically driven and promising. Altho it is an almost exact copy of the original, I felt this one stood pretty well. I loved the remake also went and saw Aladdin which was fantastic as well. Is it perfect of course not, but the acting was not as bad as people are saying. If you are only basing your response on the fact that it was gonna be as legendary as the original, then you will be disappointed. Overall I found it very enjoyable and loved the subtle humor throughout.

Possible spoiler ahead

The simba Cubs little tiny roar at the end was adorable.
