Lethal Weapon (1987)

One Of Best Cop Movies, Better than Bad Boys
5 February 2021
Two newly paired cops who are complete opposites must put aside their differences in order to catch a gang of drug smugglers. These old cop movies make me happy. Die Hard, Bad Boys and now this. Lethal Weapon became one of the best cop movies on my list. Really great story, not some lame story genuine story. Oh, acting those two made me insane Mel Gibson and Danny Glover those two make a perfect team. I should mention sound balancing in this movie they did a perfect job in that section. Highly recommend this movie.

Meaning of Marriage
5 February 2021
It's hard to find a decent rom-com these days and Tonikaku Kawaii fills that empty spot for me. Actually, the story is not very impressive but they give meaning to things in married life like having rings.

I liked to discover the backstory of Yuzaki only a few things we got in the first season. I loved the opening theme song and saved it in my playlist.

The first half of the season was very good, later they go down a bit, but overall this is a good rom-com you should watch.

Forgettable story with Unforgettable Cast
30 January 2021
The Little Things written and directed by John Lee Hancock. Deke (Denzel Washington), a burnt-out Kern County, CA deputy sheriff teams up with Baxter (Rami Malek), a crack LASD detective, to nab a serial killer. Deke's nose for the "little things" proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past. First I have to say this movie separates being GOOD from OK is Performance of the cast. Otherwise, this movie is easily forgettable. The best thing about this movie is Denzel Washington. He gives us an unforgettable performance as Deke. His character is hunted by previous mudder cases. He is psychologically melted down and Denzel Washington gives what exactly the character needs. He really looks like a person who dragging the past. I think Rami Malek as Baxter is miscast. It's not Rami Malek's performance he does not like this character. Maybe I saw him perfume too many times not being normal but that's not the only explanation other than the last act of the movie Baxter not doing anything at all. Jared Leto as Albert Sparma this character is creepy as hell and mysterious. We don't know that he is the real killer or not. Leto put Deke and Baxter tough position they can't decide is he the guy or not. This is a slow-burning mystery and the mystery not good. There are no high points so I feel really flat about the plot. The script should be improved. Good cinematography with meaningful colors tones. One time Deke in his apartment looking at pictures of victims the color tone is green, this color tone presents sickness and we know mentally sick he is. I do not strongly recommend this movie but with this cast and performance, you should give it a try.

We Want more screen time with Cléopâtre
26 January 2021
Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra Written and Directed by Alain Chabat. Astérix and Obélix go to Egypt to help architect Numérobis who is building a palace for Cleopatra. This movie is ok but I expect more to laugh. Animations are much better than this. Actors who performed Asterix and Obelix are ok but Panoramix(Claude Rich) is not delivering good performance. Visual effects should be improved when comes to practical visual effects they did a decent job. The pace is off sometimes. I liked to see more character development in sub-characters. If you are a fan of Asterix & Obelix you will enjoy others not sure.

Great Childhood Memories
25 January 2021
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Based on Roald Dahl's book, Directed by Tim Burton and written by John August. A young boy wins a tour through the most magnificent chocolate factory in the world, led by the world's most unusual candy maker. This movie has a special place in my heart because when I was little this movie was shown in every school vacation. I haven't read or saw the original book or movie. So there will be no comparison between source materials. I'm not sure the character Willy Wonka is the same in the source materials because I heard bad reviews about this version of Willy Wonka. We know every time Tim Burton doing a movie with Johnny Depp he creates his character kinda weird. Once again I'm not familiar with books or the original movie so I am going to tell how I feel about this version of Willy Wonka. Johnny Depp has done a marvelous job in this movie I loved how he acts around children and parents we know he has childhood problems so he is not comfortable with especially with invited children's parents. Freddie Highmore is ok but other child actors are better than him. Charlie Bucket's character is so flat to me. He is not doing anything at all after he entered the factory so not enough character development for his character. The visuals are magnificent the factory is a dreamland. When I first saw the scene of the chocolate river and land it's WoW. The Color combination in the factory is gorgeous. In the factory, the movie mainly focused on punishing children other than that nothing. I liked to see more details about the factory and the process of the factory. Now we are going to get a prequel movie about Willy Wonka and planning to watch the first film also. Finally, I need to say I had a good time with this movie.

Best Dark Comedy thriller in past few years
23 January 2021
Promising Young Woman Written and Directed by Emerald Fennell. It's a story about A young woman, traumatized by a tragic event in her past, who seeks out vengeance against those who crossed her path. One of the best vengeance thriller I have watched in past few years. This is Emerald Fennell's first major movie and she nailed it. Writing and Directing is perfect. I haven't watched Killing Eve yet but I have gone watched it now. The first movie start with dark comedy and step by step it builds into a great thriller. I loved the color tone of the movie and they used it correctly. From start to the end I didn't take my eyes away. Every moment in this movie feels great to me. It's a well-paced movie. The most outstanding thing in the movie is the performance of Carey Mulligan. I think she will get an Oscar nomination for this. Her performance is that good. I expected more character development for Cassandra but it's fine. I should definitely mention the score. The score is perfectly hooked with scenes. I'm not a big fan of the ending but I really respect the bold decision they took and it is risky. After the certain incident happened I had a little faith in justice and I'm completely satisfied. One of the best movie in 2020 you should definitely watch this movie.

News of the World (2020) Review
22 January 2021
News of the World is based upon the novel by Paulette Jiles, directed by Paul Greengrass and written by Paul Greengrass, Luke Davies. A Civil War veteran agrees to deliver a girl, taken by the Kiowa people years ago, to her aunt and uncle, against her will. They travel hundreds of miles and face grave dangers as they search for a place that either can call home. I was really excited to see again the combination between Paul Greengrass and Tom Hanks and they did not disappoint me. This is not Captain Phillips level but this is a good film. Paulette Jiles focused on storytelling and character development more than action sequences. This journey should be developed step by step and they did it perfectly. The pace is some time off but most of the time story flows perfectly. Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel's performance is top-notch. Especially great permanence from the young actress. We know about Tom Hanks, as usual, he is shining in this movie. Great cinematography. They captured beautiful lands excellently. If you're a western movie fan you are going to enjoy this movie.

Our Star Heath Ledger
18 January 2021
Ok, this movie is predictable actually I think there is no way to tell a story like this. We have seen this type of storyline countless times. But Heath Ledger is the star of this movie. The emotional scenes in this movie are very powerful. I like more backstory to connect with the main character. The supporting cast has done a good job also. This really enjoyable so I recommend this movie if you need to motivate yourself.

Batman Begins (2005)
9/10
Perfect Origin for Greatest Superhero
12 January 2021
Batman Begins directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer. When his parents are killed, billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne relocates to Asia, where he is mentored by Henri Ducard and Ra's Al Ghul in how to fight evil. When learning about the plan to wipe out evil in Gotham City by Ducard, Bruce prevents this plan from getting any further and heads back to his home. Back in his original surroundings, Bruce adopts the image of a bat to strike fear into the criminals and the corrupt as the icon known as "Batman". But it doesn't stay quiet for long. Well deserve origin story for Dark Knight and I never want another origin movie for batman. This will be one and only batman origin. OMG Nolan, you brought batman to the real world. Nolans Batman Trilogy is the most realistic batman I ever so (waiting for Matt Reeves Batman). I know Christian Bale is not the batman from comics. But this version of batman hooked me up. So Christian Bale is my favorite batman. Michael Caine as Alfred I loved him. His performance is great. The villain, Liam Neeson is pretty good but that's not enough for me. If his performance was great I have given this movie 5 out of 5 stars. Gary Oldman and Cillian Murphy's performance also done a spectacular job. The pace of the movie is perfect. Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer did a great job when comes to script. There are a lot of memorable dialogues in the movie. Another masterpiece score from Hans Zimmer. We have to talk about cinematography, the visuals are spectacular. I loved the car chase scene when the batmobile driving on top of roofs I have no words for that. When Bruce at the cave the bats fly around him and at the asylum when he jumps down from the staircase how he goes through bats has captured perfectly. This is a trilogy that everyone should watch.

Awesome Martial Arts but missing the heart
12 January 2021
Batman: Soul of the Dragon is direct by Sam Liu and written by Jeremy Adams. Batman, Bronze Tiger, Lady Shiva, and Richard Dragon join forces when they come to realize that they share a common acquaintance. The Martial Arts Master that trained them has been missing for a number of years and under mysterious circumstances. When a cursed relic resurfaces, the mystery of their dead master re-opens and Batman and his former classmates must face-off in the ultimate test of their Martial Arts skills to gain control of this dangerous relic. This movie set in the 70s and I love Asian Martial Arts. This movie is more focused on Bruce Wayne than Batman. This feels like a mix of James Bond and Bruce lee's movie. There are a lot of action-packed scenes but a lack of character development and feelings, which is one of the main negative points. Also, the story is very predictable and flat. When comes to Asian movies or dramas they heavily focused on feelings and this movie lacks feelings, live adaptation of Mulan also had the same problem. I do not strongly recommend this movie. If you are a fan of batman and animation it's ok.

Not familiar with source materials but I love this show.
27 December 2020
It's been a long time since I watched a good romantic drama and I'm quite surprised to see low ratings for this show. I'm not familiar with source materials so I'm not going to compare each. The most admirable thing about this show is the way they mix modern music with classical music. The plot is a normal period romance story but the execution of the story is great. In the beginning, I was worried the pace is gone to be slow but guess what the pace is perfect. I'm sure you are gone enjoy this show so much as I do. The first half of the season mainly focused on our main two characters but in the second half of the season, there are few subplots that are good to see. I'm getting bored with romance drama when they focused on just the main couple. This is my first time seen these two performances and they did a great job, I really enjoyed their acting. They have great chemistry on screen. Also, the supporting cast is good especially the queen. The only negativity I see is the predictability of the show. Writers should have done better with the mystery of Lady Whistledown, I notice half of the season who is Lady Whistledown. I am looking forward to the second season and I recommend this especially if you are a fan of romantic period drama.

What the f%#k Varun?
25 December 2020
Another terrible remake. If they want to do a remake why this? this is a really poor script. A lot of meaningless dialogues and those dialogues are supposed to be funny. About acting, is director wants actors to perform like that. They are overacting none of them were good to me. I was disappointed with Varun's performance. One of Sara Ali Khan's previous movie Simmba has these kinds of silliness. There is a director just for credits that's it. Even without this director, this movie could be made. Even you are a fan of the original movie or cast I do not recommend this to you.

Sweet Home (2020– )

Great show with bad CGI
20 December 2020
Sweet Home South Korean Fantasy Horror Drama Directed by one of the best kdrama directors in history Lee Eung Bok person who directed Mr.Sunshine, Goblin, and Descendants of the sun. This is a popular webtoon adaptation by Netflix. First do not compare with Kingdom series. This show is the most expensive Netflix show made in South Korea so I had high expectations but after watching the trailer I was kinda disappointed. CGI monsters look likes garbage to me, yes in this series they look like PlayStation 2 game. That's the biggest weakens in this series. When it comes to practical effects they have done a great job. Sweet Home reminds me of Resident Evil and Train to Busan. The plot is good but there are few plot holes. This is not just another zombie drama because these monsters are not easy to kill and every each monster is very unique that's one of the main reasons for me to keep watch this series. I loved the cinematography and color grading. There are a lot of close-up shots. It reminds me of the dexter intro which is really awesome. This is the most aggressive kdrama I have ever watched, there is a lot of violence and blood. They have a top-notch cast for this series and there not going to disappoint you. Every character in this series felt real to me. there are a lot of character developments throughout the series. There were a few characters that I need a backstory for them. The soundtracks are good but there was imagine dragons song and I felt that is not necessary for the scenes. Overall this is a good show with a lot of entertainment and I hope they develop their CGI in the next seasons.

Croods back with beautiful visuals and gorgeous colors
17 December 2020
When I saw the movie I really like the visuals and colors of the movie. they are gorgeous. The original cast is back and they are rocking. Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds it's great that they find time for this sequel. The plot is too common we have seen this type of story countless times. So there isn't anything new from the story. I really enjoyed the conflict between these two families those scenes are so funny. This movie reminds us of the true value of family. This is a great family movie to watch.

Archer Review
17 December 2020
Season 01: First season is great. I love the characters and how they animate. The story is solid but nothing too exciting. Introduction to characters isn't good, they could have done better. The Voice cast is really good, they have done a great job. James bond stories with jokes who don't like this show.

Hope FX do a great show with Alien
13 December 2020
I watched this after they announced a show from FX in the Disney investor presentation. I am very impressed with the production/set quality in this movie. The plot is good but I hope in future movies they discover more about this alien universe with an origin story. Cinematography is mostly focused on reactions to facial expressions so many closeups shots and actors done amazing jobs too. The visual effects in this movie are great for 1979 very impressive. I will watch this franchise completely. Are you planning to watch classic horror / Sci-fi this is the one.

Alice in Borderland (2020– )

potential future for live action manga adaptations
12 December 2020
Oh man, this is nuts, probably the best tv show I've watched in 2020. when I first heard about this series I was excited and also worried. Because in past most manga or anime adaptations were so bad. After watching 1st episode my mind was clear and I know this series going to be epic. Director Sato Shinsuke excellently brought this manga into the real world. The plot is like the mix of hunger games and escape room but Alice in Borderland is much more than those two. In hunger games they just kill each other for survival, escape room there are different games but limited to a building. But in here we have games + open world. it's good if There were more backstory for the character I was interested in. About the acting our protagonist Ryohei Arisu act by Yamazaki Kento he was great in this series, the way he expresses feelings is so natural. I am very impressed with the supporting cast they did an excellent job. There were few uses of CGI and they are good. About Cinematography I loved it, in an episode there two battels in those battels the way they use slow-motion effect is great. This hard R rated show full of valance and blood. I highly recommend this show to watch. Then have a nice ride with Alice in Borderland.

Ammonite (2020)

Best Romantic melodrama in 2020
10 December 2020
Mary Anning is a woman who struggles to express her emotions because she was hearted. Charlotte Murchison is a woman who needs love in her life. Ammonite is directed and written by Francis Lee. The main two characters cast by Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. As always i loved Kate Winslet in this movie, she is a phenomenal actress, and also Saoirse Ronan is really good. Kate Winslet portrays Mary Anning's struggle between her emotions really well. The script is solid, but there were things that should be focused more like the pressure to be a lesbian in the 1840s. The pace is a little out but the romance was great. I like Cinematography, it's peace. I really enjoyed the movie and I recommend you watch this melodrama.

Decent Halloween body swap Movie.
8 December 2020
Actually, there is not much to say about the concept in the movie. It's a typical body swap serial killer horror movie. but special about this movie is how it was executed. The director did a decent job to stop being just a body swap movie. The acting also good but not great, the main two characters were good but the supporting cast didn't impress me. it's good for Halloween Friday night. The rewatch value for this movie is 2/10.
