1899 (2022)
Dark visually and murky storyline
Not much to draw the viewer into the storyline. And hard to see even when the scene is supposed to be in daytime.
So tired of dark scenes, and I can understand the whole 'well the lighting is consistent with the timeframe of the story', but still annoying.
A couple of the actors are compelling and giving good performances but otherwise lackluster. I gave up after a couple of episodes, so someone can tell me that I didn't stick around long enough and maybe it gets better after episode 2.
The use of mystical references is not intriguing if there is no underlying and interesting story to the references.
Reyka (2021)
Interesting complex story
Enjoyed having an original setting and a complex storyline. The backstory is a little overdone, but the murders and the detectives are good storylines. Would really like to see more detective stories set in Africa.
Borrego (2022)
Action in the desert - original story line
The story line is original and the characters are personable. The action was fast enough to keep the audience engaged. Original action of the chase scenes in the desert. Not a block-buster but a good watch.
Beckett (2021)
Really good action - edge of the seat action
This movie took off and didn't stop. One chase scene after another. Good acting, interesting characters. Highly entertaining. I recommend this film for anyone who likes action.
Dune (2021)
Characters seem to be sleep walking
Only characters that seem to have energy are played by Jason Momoa and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Story is interesting even if it is slow moving. Landscape and Architecture are stars of the show. Makes me want to see the earlier version of the movie from 1984.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Different action movie
This movie had a different story line which was refreshing. The action moved along and kept the interest. Nice to have a movie that was not overly dramatic and constantly injected with loud music. Good entertainment.
Warrior (2011)
Sound Engineer ruined this movie
When you have to constantly lower the volume, and then raise the volume then the whole movie experience is ruined. It makes no sense how loud the background noise gets and how loud the music gets compared to the voices. And then some voices are extra low volume. Please fire whoever was supposed to make this movie a unified experience.
What Remains (2013)
So many suspects
Really enjoyed this twisting story. Very difficult to solve this puzzle.
Liked it!
Scorched Earth (2018)
Another movie ruined by sound engineers
This is an interesting movie. Ruined by sound engineers. The sound goes all over the place, first low, then loud, then lower and lower. Could movie directors please hire better sound engineers.
Making a Killing (2018)
Good black comedy - the movie moved along at a good pace
Really enjoyed this movie. The actors were all good, and the action and story line were good. This is the type of movie that is just fun to watch. Only negative is that the sound engineers play the music too loud, especially during the action scenes.
