The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
The Inferior Sequel
This is the second instalment of the Matrix series, the sequel to the 1999 masterpiece The Matrix. It picks up as a much as 6 moths from when the audience last saw the characters. The Nebuchadnezzar is still operating with Neo, better than ever, Trinity, and Morpheus with only one new member Link being added to the crew, because he is the brother-in-law of Tank and Dozer. This movie expands the audience's knowledge of the remaining human world and introduces them to Zion and other members of its fleet. The machines are making an advance of 250,000 Sentinels on Zion and this threat remains persistent through out the movie and does continue into the next movie. However the main plot line of the movie is Neo's journey to what the Oracle tells him is the end of his path where the war will end. He must meet with the Key Maker, who is being held by the Merovingian, who will allow him to reach the source. Neo's path to the source is hindered by the Merovingian, Agents, and the now rouge Agent Smith.
I first watched this movie two and a half years ago and did not like it. Though up on re-watch I found that it was better than I remembered and I will give it a slightly positive review. It was ok and is not skippable in any Matrix re-watch.
Keanu Reeves reprise his role as Neo and is awesome like every movie he is in. Neo is the hero of our story and has the fate of the human race on his shoulders at all times and deals with his fear of losing Trinity which is introduced in the very first scene. Neo is looked up to as a messiah figure is Zion, but is also very polarizing as people such as Link's wife and Commander Lock do want others to make their decisions based on their belief in a prophecy. This is not the focus of the movie, but it is a realistic and interesting conflict that fills out the world inside of Zion. When I first saw the original movie I saw Zion, like the Emerald City, and was disappointed when I was meet with a ugly cave that house weird techno raves. The 3 minutes of screen time dedicated to the Techno Rave and Neo & Trinity love scene is easily the worst part of the movie. It is ugly, prolonged, does not advance the plot, and I take a moral issue with the reveling nature of many of the shots. I also don't like the unclear nature of their religious practice, I think it should have included more reference past the language such as prophecy, pray, and temple. Though beyond that Zion is populate with a council, a military, factions, and a engineering level that makes the city function. The design though depressing is true to the world, they live in metal boxes in the middle of the Earth. It also has an awesome gate, with a fleet of ships, and awesome mechs.
Neo & Trinity go though many ups and downs in this film. Lots of it is standard a love scene, fear of the death of the other, jealousy, passion, saving the other. Yet it also involves Neo restarting Trinity's heart, Neo seeing the future with her falling to her death, and Neo flying like superman to save her. I don't think Neo & Trinity are a good couple. The problem I have is that there is very little interaction between them that develops the connection that have. This is not present in the original movie or reloaded. It comes off as only a product of the machines control as Trinity seemed initially interested because the Oracle told her she would be and that it was eventually part the Architect plan to force Neo into making an emotionally charged decision that would benefit him.
Neo is overpowered in this movie mainly for his power to fly, restart Trinity's heart, and when he stops the Sentinels when he is outside the Matrix. The problem with this is that it makes Neo less interesting and forces him to not struggle as much. Even if he was all-powerful inside the Matrix, which is not the case at all, he that power should not extend outside the Matrix in the real world where the laws of Physics still apply and he does not have a Bluetooth receiver in him to connect to the machines.
Agent Smith absolutely should have returned and this movie would have been missing something if we did not hear "Mr. Anderson". Though his role in this movie is not very interesting. He is a virus that is copying himself onto all other parts of the Matrix and even fights Neo. This is not remotely interesting and adds an unnecessary third party into the mix. I like the fact the Smith is now rouge and was an impediment for Neo in his mission, but it only lead to the worst action scene in the movie that involved a mob of Smiths attacking Neo, and went on forever as more Smiths came it was for the most part more of the same for the whole sequence. Neo eventually flies away like he should have right after Smith tried to copy him the first time.
The best scene in the movie is the entire sequence as our heroes escape the grasp of the Merovingian and and agents with the Key Maker. This is an awesome action sequence it involves Neo flying 500 miles. Morpheus blowing up a car, a bunch of swords displayed on the war in the scene before hand the used for action in the next. This is everyone's favorite scene and redeems lots of the bad parts of the movie.
The final criticism I will levy is that the end is confusing though you get the gist of what the Architect says. It is overly complicated and leaves you very confused as you are thrown into the final minutes of the movie. Though the movie ends great as it sets up the next movie. All our main characters safely escape the Matrix and the Nebuchadnezzar before it blows up, but the attack is still going to hit Zion, and Bane, a human controlled by Agent Smith lays unconscious next to Neo.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
Woman and Men can pull of multimillion dollar heists, but it is not a competition.
The 2018 all-female spin-off of the early 2000s hit staring a bunch of people, but mainly Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, Danny Oceans Sister. Who after being released from prison forms a team of 7 other woman to pull of a jewel heist during the night of the Met Gala and get revenge on her ex-Boyfriend who put her in prison. I think this movie is good, not as good as the original, but it hit the spot there was lots of sneaking around plenty of big-name actors, call backs to the original film, the twist to reveal that they where not just stealing one necklace, and elaborate plan.
It does not bother me to have an all-female main cast just as the all-male cast did not in the original. Though I will criticize its comment that woman are more low-profile than men and there for better for the job. This idea is absolutely true in many aspects of life, but this is not one of them. The heist participants just had to blend in or not be seen all together, this would be no hard feet for a man because no on expects criminal activity in a secure area such as at the Met Gala.
Anne Hathaway as Daphne Kluger, a fictious celebrity, was a great addition. She played dumb the first half of the movie and was funny, but she was totally believable once they revealed she was in on the plot.
I think that the investigation plot point could have been prolonged a little more afterwards as I found it very enjoyable and was dissatisfied by how it ended.
The Matrix (1999)
Great Action, Great Story, Captivated me from the first time I watched it.
The Matrix is a movie that has captivated my attention form the first time I watched it. Keanu Reeves stars as the action hero Neo as he journeys from computer hacker inside the Matrix to realizing he true purpose as the messiah figure, "the one", who will free humanity from their bondage in the Matrix.
The Matrix is truly the concept that captivates the audience. A robust computer simulation that an advanced AI has trapped the entire human race in. This draws in all the elements of the movie that I love such as the superhuman abilities, the evil computers, crazy mechanics of moving in and out of the Matrix, and downloading material arts techniques.
Neo is the best character has he journey's to realizes his true potential. Laurence Fishburne plays Morpheus the fearless captain of the Nebuchadnezzar the teams hovercraft that they use to fight off the machines. He has a undying belief in Neo as does Carrie-Anne Moss's Trinity. This leads to him risking his life for Neo, but Neo who does not believe he is "The One" feels guilt and risks his life to save Morpheus.
Neo's identity is oblivious once Morpheus explains to him of the prophecy of "The One". The movie develops this in a captivating way as Neo is introduced to the Oracle, played by Gloria Foster, who is portrayed as the most knowledgeable character in the movie tells Neo he is not the one. As Neo continues to doubt his identity he soon realizes his potential when he was thrown into life-threatening situations for him, Morpheus, and Trinity. Without the pressure of living up to be the one he succeeds in saving all of their lives, showing that the purpose of the Oracle's message to him was exactly what he need to hear.
The action is top notch and includes some of the most iconic shots in film both of Neo dodging the bullets on the rooftop and him stopping the bullets in the hallway. This movie gives you just enough of Neo's superhuman abilities and is balanced with the amazing lobby scene where Neo and Trinity shoot up the whole place.
I will also comment that my favorite scene that is not an action scene is when they all sit down at the dinner table and Mouse played by Matt Doran speculates that the reason that everything tastes like chicken is because the machines did not know what any of those other foods tasted, so they just made it all taste like chicken.
I will say that the special effects are dated, the color pallet is depressing, and I do not like Neo and Trinity's romance in this movie.
Overall this is an amazing movie that has not been replicated to this day.
Fast & Furious (2009)
Not to be confused with The Fast and the Furious
The 4th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise called Fast & and Furious not to be confused with The Fast and the Furious. Which one of the many dumb things about this movie including it takes place before the previous movie, that Brian O'Connor manages to return to being a cop, and the Brian never gives any reason for choosing a life of crime over one in law enforcement but that he respects Dominic more than himself. Before anything else this movie is a dumb entertaining action movie, but there is remnant of a good story, just remnants.
The main characters Brain O'Connor and Dominic Toretto start the movie at odds, but ultimately are buddies and are working toward the same goal, the apprehension of the drug dealer. At its core this movie has a base of a good movie, the apprehension of a drug dealer, Brain's struggle with being the good guy, and Dominic's desire for revenge. The chase for the drug dealer is a good action plot with a twist of who Braga is from my perspective I don't think obvious, and lead to an awesome car chase at the end. This the template for all the action and exciting sequences that you can't complain about.
Brain O'Connor is somehow allowed back in the FBI and allowed to work around Dominic Toretto even though he let him go. The whole movie he is working toward the goal of capturing the Braga, who is essentialy the mission, but his desire to help Dominic and Mia greater than any other desire. His motives for these actions don't make any sense, if he really cared about Dom and Mia he would help them have a change of heart. These movies basicly preach that if crime is where your family than crime is OK.
Dominic Toretto, a revenge story is pretty standard for any movie, but in this movie there isn't any push back to stop the revenge it also glorifies revenge.
Brian and Dominic are very morally gray and they see their actions as good and even pray that God bless their day where they steal $60 million dollars of heroin and hide it.
Also Mia is pushing back from Brain for the first half of the movie and all of the sudden they start making out.
Though all of this is wrapped around to be positive because I is so easy to pick a part and adds to the already entertaining factor of the movie.
The movie includes many awesome car chases, a chase on foot with Paul Walker, explostions, and Vin Diesel rams into the guy who killed his girlfriend with a car. The movie is entertaining, dumb, and stupid.
Airplane! (1980)
Airplane Exclamation Point
Ted Striker, war veteran, flys a plane that the crew is taken out by eating the fish served in the plane. The crew members and passengers are very sick not to mention a child that needs to reach Chicago for a heart transplant. In the end he barley lands the plane safely and gets the girl back.
This movie is purely a comedy beyond that there is nothing, but it is funny. Most of it landed, but some of it didn't. The movie had me crack up quite a few times. There might have been a tad bit much random humor. (A turkey randomly sitting in the bathroom) Not everything landed, but it did have some great parts. Lots of punching and hitting for no reason which is funny. A blown up autopilot that flys away at the end. The girl with a bad heart going into cardiac arrest will everyone sang a song.
This is a dumb funny comedy. Nothing great just some good humor and a dumb plot. With a crappy character motivation, character development, but that adds to the humor of the ridiculousness.
The Last Dance (2020)
The Last Dance
I am not the biggest basketball fan and I was not alive to see Michael Jordan play, so I don't think it is as interesting as for me as it is for others (My parents were bigger fans of it than me).
The series mostly focus on Michael Jordan for he is the most famous and has had the greatest impact on our culture. Jordan has one of the most admirable work ethics of any athlete ever, and his philosophy of never settling for failure, is inspiring. The series offers an honest look at Michael Jordan, he is not perfect, but another admirable quality is never letting his critics change who he was. Jordan is cocky and maybe has a life style that includes too much gambling, drinking, and smoking. Michael Jordan always did what he wanted, and did not let people boss him around.
For me the series offered me a look at area of sports I was not that well informed on and gave a clearer picture of the Bull's dynasty. I loved the style of simultaneously showing the end and the beginning of their success.
This was a great documentary on the Bulls and Basketball and Michael Jordan. It was about Michael Jordan the person, the athlete, the product, and the cultural icon. Objectively it was very well made, but I am not fully drawn in because it is not something that holds as much value to me as anyone who grew up in the 90's or anyone who is a larger basketball fan than me. Though it never alienated anyone who has no interest in basketball, and draws in fans even more.
Just Mercy (2019)
Justice!!!!!!!
"Johnny D." was wrongly accused of murder, and sentence to death until Micheal B. Jordan's character came to fight for justice for people on death row.
Johnny D. was an easy target to draw from the pool of people from the poor black community, and use to give the allusion of justice and doing the right thing by the people in power to the people of the community. There was clearly racist intention among the powerful, (shows how many people still stand for injustice today and we should not turn a blind eye when we see it).
Bryan Stevenson is a good man and his actions should inspire many others to follow in his footsteps and simple help people especially where it is most needed.
The movie holds a clear emphasizes on the injustices, but it does not ignore the people who did the right thing in the story. It shows all the people who come forward with the truth and even the main evidence in the case of him being guilty (Which is clearly falsified to anyone who read it).
The acting in this movie is amazing mainly Jamie Foxx and Michael B. Jordan.
Overall it is really inspiring and made me think about where I want to be a help to society when I choose a career path.
The movie ended with a great speech about continuing to pursue justice in our legal system, or we are not holding to the wonderful ideals of liberty in this country.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Over 2,000 angry 1 star reviews can't stop me from liking this movie
It has been 2 1/2 years since the Last Jedi Ruined Star Wars. Many of the reviews claim this to be a plot whole ridden, boring, incoherent poorly written mess.
And all the blame falls on Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kenndey (The second one makes zero sense, one executive can't ruin or make all the creative stories that ruin the movie for you)
I am not here to tell you this is the best Star Wars Movie or a Masterpiece, but I think it is quite a great enjoyable movie.
I think Rian Johnson directed and wrote a movie with beautiful cinematography, great character development, a thrilling story with unexpected turns. Along with Johnson many other people brought this film to life. Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, and especially Mark Hamill returned to the series and preformed just as well if not better as they did 40 years ago and Daisy Riddle, John Boyaga, Oscar Issac, and Adam Driver returned and gave Good performances (not through the roof, but not an abomination). The special effects brought it to life with superior technology to the last generation of films, but top notch for today.
******I don't expect anyone to read further than this***** (Not that I don't recommend it, but I personally don't read reviews this long, just right them)
I have know idea how long this review is and I don't want it to just be about what people complained about, but I think I need to rant about the ridiculous absurdities of many of the low nit picky complaints that people hold as legitimate complaints in their reviews of this movie. One thing that people held as truly running the movie was the uses of the force introduced as new in this movie. A common complaint is that the force is just magical and the creators of this new movie are "just making up force powers at this point". Some of these new powers introduced are a force connection between two people where they can transfer matter, physically touch and see each other, the ability to move your self though space, the power to survive in space, the ability of a force ghost to bring lightning from the sky, and the ability project your self across the galaxy and trick people into your appearance being real. The first problem with this is that fundamentally the force is a fictional made up element, that exists in a world that leans more towards fantasy than science fiction, therefore YES THE FORCE IS MAGICAL. Though these are problems that can be held against Star Wars as a whole. And that is fine you can not like the force. (There is sacrifice in that it is a giant plot convince that allows for things to happen that may seem like luck. But it is a sacrifice because it opened the door to a magical story that touches on basics of human ideals of what is truly good. And it has captured and continued to capture fans from around the world, and of all ages since 1977). We have no reason to think from previous that we know as an audience everything about the force, and there is no rule that you can't introduce new things, and it creates more creative freedom for the story teller to introduce previously unknown elements, and if they break previously establish rules I think that it is a worthy sacrifice for good story telling. Though the examples from earlier have some falsies they do in some case introduce some plot holes. There may be a gap between what we have seen before and what this movie displayed and there may be an unexplained reason that it was never used explore. That is the definition of a Plot Hole, it a hole that can be filled in the future. None of these break any clearly established rule made by the years and years of Star Wars media, and the creators of a high budget film should not have to hold to the most minute detail reviled by some guy in one line of a book or a comic book. (To be fair I am a big fan of material beyond the film and it does not bother me). The reason for Kylo and Rey is establish a clear reason for its origin (Snoke connected them). It is clear establishment of previous movies that the force can connect people across great distances, in this movie the degree was greater and it establishes there is a physically connection this time around. Though we have no reason to believe that this can't happen in a stronger occurrence and that this is rare occurrence that was seldom used in the past. Kylo and Rey are established as very strong and Snoke is established as even stronger. Leia is a beloved character that has clearly established that she has a strong connection to the force (she is the daughter of Darth Vader, the chosen one), and there is not reason we should not believe she pursued a stronger connection to the force over the past 30 years. As for how it is portrayed I agree it looks like superman, it clearly could have handled that better. As for the ability for her to survive in space, I don't think it has little to do with the force, it is a false assumption people have that space kills you instantly, and we have no reason to believe she was out there for that long. In the movies it is a new development that force ghost have the ability to connect with the physical world. The movie does not explain why that is or why it does not happen very often. This is a plot hole, but I think there is room for that to be filled. A force projection it what people have come to call Luke's manifestation on Crait, and it is establish to be a rare power that require a lot of concentration, and for Luke it lead to death (it took all his energy) and I don't think this was the best time for Luke's death and maybe there could have been more to tell with Luke Skywalker. Though just because this power is unestabilhed it does not make it bad, it does not mean you can't like it or think that it cheapens the story. Another plot hole that is really truly a nit pick is the bombs that blow up the dreadnought in the very first scene, they fall in space and blow up the ship. The movie offers no explanation other than that they are all stuck togther as if they are magnetic. An explenation on how these ships and bombs worked would have worked against the movie and is worse than no explanation. Poe yells "I know everyone I am talking to knows this, but the bombs are magnetic and if I was trying to command an attack I would just say bombs." Holdo's hyperspace ramming of the First Order capital ship is some thing we have never seen, but from the movie we don't know the difficulty of what happened and even if it made no sense what so ever she made a sacrifice which if you where paying attention you are supposed to see that see is a hero and not just a jerk. These critisims spread through the whole movie and people have dragged this mentality onto the next movie also.
I love this movie I am not going to deny that I love it. I love all the Star Wars movie. Many of the other reviews claim this to me poorly written movie with no character development. I just do not see that. I think that Rian Johnson wrote a great movie. It is complex on many levels. The most valid controversy in this movie the portrayal of Luke Skywalker. I understand that people did not like it, Mark Hamill himself wasn't crazy about it, but I like. I he is a broken hero, he has become a legend on and off the screen, this movie humanizes him. He failed and decides to run from his failure and guilt (heroes do not always have to be right). The Force Awakens established that it affected out three main heroes, Luke being the worst (He ran away to never be found). But why did he leave a map, I think it is clear his motives and ideas changed from the time he left to the time Rey found him. When he reveals the truth of the night Kylo turned he admitted his weakness, he is human and that is powerful. Though he is wrong in his willingness to help. When Yoda shows up he learns that faluire is not the point where you give up, but the point to learn the most and he uses all his strength to save the resistance.
Rey and Kylo I think are the weakest of all the arcs in this movie. Though it is not absence or all bad there is just some faults, overall I like it. I feel like the dialogue and tension is a little awkward, but for the most part I look past that. Though on re watch I don't think romantic tension is completely out of the blue, I still think it is weird. They are conflicted and on opposites sides thinking they can both get the other to join. Rey individually is lost and scared. She seeks answers and Luke fails at that, but that does not ruin her desire to do good. Though she takes a dangerous road that is unlikely to succeed straight into darkness. Kylo is conflicted and his growth in this movie is breaking free of everything and trying not to be controlled. His defiance of evil authority and opens the door to new ideas. He kills Snoke (A wonderful twist). I did not expect it.
Poe, he is very likable and we love him as a audience, and at the begin we see Holdo as a jerk, but by the end we she that it was Poe's fault he was a hotshot that did not understand his leaders and was not open listening. Holdo taught him a lesson that he learned in the end. Though we are to see that Leia sees him as a future leader with lots of potential.
Finn was running away he was scared in the beginning of the movie he held that he just wanted revenge and lived in fear. Rose changed that view in his mind that he was a hero to the resistance not just an enemy of first order. Though Roses line is cheesy "save what you love not kill what you hate". This is what Finn need to see and her she saved them and then he saved her. Though the kiss was thrown in almost out of nowhere. I does not work and it is weird because he does not feel the same way.
This movie is not absent of substance the plot lines, and characters draw me in, and the action and the way it looks is great. I don't think that the Kanto Byte was a weird sub plot that was a waist. It was successful in character development. Also this movie is not political or pushing an evil agenda.
Scoob! (2020)
Scoob Exclamation Point
I like Scooby Doo cartoons. They were something I watched time to time as a kid, but this is just OK. It is worse than the normal cartoons because it just is. (It was never going to be very good).
The story is OK. It widely used format in both cases with a friendship going through a little fight, with shaggy and scooby, and hiding in your fathers shadow with Caption Falcon. Neither of these were bad, it is a story that still evokes some emotion and using characters we know only helps it.
The movie was mildly funny, it included too much humor revolving around Caption Falcon being an internet star (I feel like this type of humor is mostly stupid and misinterpretation of internet culture.) The movie made me laugh. The humor was dumb and pretty low level, but sometimes that is fine (humor is just meant to make you laugh and it did).
A movie gains a little bit when certain actors star in it, in this movie that was Mark Whalburg and Zac Efron, both actors that star in other movies and have a character and personality behind the voice the other movie with them have created in my mind.
I don't think that any of the characters were misinterpreted in this movie they still entertainingly played the roles of their characters and they successfully played it of for humor. (From my limited knowledge of the interactions of these characters.
The plot overall was mostly dumb, but kept me mildly interesting to find out the lame lingering question. The villain was funny and funny henchmen. It is average mustached villain with a plan for riches, but also has a heart for his partner in crime. The animation was good nothing great. Scooby Doo in this movie is the decedent of Alexander the Great's dog, which is stupid but funny how ridiculous it is.
The movie culminates when Shaggy decides to sacrifice him for Scooby, which is a sweet moment. (Though like most movies there is no real consequences not that there should have been).
Of the 3 animated movies that have been released digitally this year. This was the weakest. Love able Characters masked over a generic story. Some dumb humor that was hit or miss. Every thing was OK. It is not worth the $20 to rent it, but there is also not much coming out to watch. Scoob! a movie in a long line of generic kids movies that will get too much hate for no reason, but also there is nothing great about it either that is why it is a 6/10 and OK in my book.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011)
The Last and Best Harry Potter Movie
The last film in the Harry Potter Movie , starts right were the other one ended, in the middle of a story. The beginning of the movie is the weakest section of the movie, it starts with hard to follow exposition that probably weakens all the movies in the series after the first two. Though of all the movie this one is not to long, like most of them. It only gets better and more exciting as time goes on. It also is conclusive.
The first time I watched these movies I had a hard time following the plot and never understood Why Snape kills Dumboledore, but this time I get it. The second time around I finally got to appreciate the plot and details.
This is the most exciting movie in the series, and the Harry, Hermione, and Ron all get their moments to shine, but even Mcgonogal and Nevile get their moments to shine. (And it is awesome). Ron and Hermione finally get together after 8 movies and I it so happy. Some of the side characters' deaths are just glossed over and don't land.
I don't have much to say about this movie. I love the final battle between Harry and Voldemort. When all the horecruxes are destroyed it is awesome.
I don't really understand Snape's character I can't tell if you are supposed to like him because Lilly (Harry's Mom) is his only motivation. If that is thing stopping him from being evil I am not sure I like him.
This movie is the conclusion and it wraps up the story of all 8 movies great and is and awesome, heroic ending that makes you feel good. (Especially since it was so grim.)
Back to the Future (1985)
The best time travel movie ever!!!!
This was one of my favorite movies from the time I was little. Even though my parents rarely let me watch it because "it had to much cussing". But I still loved it. Greatest time travel movie ever. (Even if the time travel makes no sense)
What is about this movie that makes it superior to almost ever other movie I have ever watched.
The defining feature of this movie is the humor and it is really quotable. "I'm Darth Vader from the planet Volcon" "You're my density" " So you're tellin' me that you built a time machine, out of a dalorine" "Hello its your cousin Marvin, Marvin Berry. You know that new sound you've been looking for, well listen to this.
It is without a doubt the best movie about a kid going back in time for his mom to have the hots for him. "So you're tellin' that my mom has the hots for me, whoa this is heavy".
You could nit pick this movie all day. Yes! it is a plot convenience that all the these important events happen within a week together in 1955. Though it makes perfect sense that they were all brought up in the future. Why does Marty slowly disappear instead of instantly. Though these are both worthy sacrifices for the story.
This movie is so funny and I could go through the whole movie and pick out something every 10 seconds. Though to be a highly regarded classic there needs to be more than just humor. Marty is an average kid living in 1985 with the exception that he hangs around with a crazy scientist. Marty has a girlfriend and seems to be annoyed by the faults of his family, rightfully. Trough out his journey into the past he holds in his mind that Doc has been shot dead when he leaves. He tries to tell him the whole movie about the future, but he does not want to hear. But Doc thought "What the hell" . (Which the motivation does not make a whole lot of sense, though he did have 30 years.) Though it is rewarding and heart warming when you see Doc listen and stay alive.
Doc is mostly funny, but also misunderstood for because he is actually a genius, he made a time machine. "Great Scott!" "1.21 gigawatts" "The fulx copasitor this is what makes time travel possible"
The mom is funny, just by the fact she is into her son, but in the end she realizes it. "When I kiss you it feels like I'm kissing my brother." "I have never seen anyone wear purple underwear before."
The best character with the most growth is George McFly. He never stands up to anyone, but Marty is successful in getting him to stand up against Biff (Even better than the original plan). "Hey you get your dam hands off of her". The music and the score is great. And even better his guitar performance at the end.
Biff is terrible and the worst and that is what is great about him, when Marty stand up to him you love it, when manure is dumped on him you love it, and best of all is when George punches him.
The movie is not really about character growth, except for George and for Marty it was just "Educational". The movie is really held together by the race against time to send Marty back to the future, and of course every thing goes wrong until it doesn't. It is thrilling and rewarding as the movie drags you along as the music invokes one of the strongest senses of nostalgia.
This movie is superior to both the sequels, even though they are just as much apart of one of the greatest trilogies ever. This movie is timeless and always delightful. It is in my top 10 favorite movies. 10/10.
"Roads where were going we don't need roads"
Rogue One (2016)
Truly a Great Movie!!! Beautiful.
The Greatest Star Wars Movie since the Originals, not even to throw any shade at the PT or ST or even Solo, but this movie is just Great.
There is great characters, it is really inspiring, and it provides context and makes A New Hope better.
This movie was released 4 years ago on my birthday. I waited a few days to see it, but loved it ever since then. It took me a few years to re-watch it, but it is just as good every time. With my interest sparked in Star Wars books, the books of Thrawn and Catalyst (The prequel book to the movie) have given even more context and made the movie better. Though it was not lacking in providing the relationships and backstory of the characters. I do not think the movie is dependent on extra material other than the movie.
Jyn Erso is the main character of this story, and grows more than any of the other characters through out the story. We meet her and she is lost she has no love for the empire, but also no real love for anyone. She is just an average criminal, but this story reunites her to face her past and she seizes the moment with an act of heroism. I think that the change happens a little too fast, but is still great. Both her and Cassian have to win you over, and by the end I cared, the first time and still today. She makes the greatest most powerful speech of the movie and another. This is the moment when she truly wins over the audience, and shows the faults of the Rebellion at the same time. Many of the are cowards and are not willing to fight and die to bring down the Empire. But Jyn is the Hero and is not afraid, (Given she is motivated by her father's death), and tells them that they should not run and hide while they "become like the ashes of Jehda".
Cassian Andor is a rebel. Is true to the cause he believes in, but has crossed the line of what he though was right in the process. They establish his moral grayness when he kills the man at in his first scene, it was not without reason, but many other better men would have tried to save him. By the end he realized that doing what you believe is right is more important than following orders. After Jyn's speech though he already believed her he set out to make it right and gathers men to fight along side Jyn.
K2SO is awesome. He is hilarious and gives the movie heart. "Don't resist you are being rescued" "I thought it was boring and you were in trouble"
Chirrut Îmwe and his side kick Baze Malbus are great. Chirrut is a man of faith and it guides him to be fearless and plays an important role in their success. Baze upon Chirrut's death takes up is faith and fights until he can't no more. "I am one with the force the force is with me".
Orson Krennic, the villain of the story, is a man searching for power and wants credit, but with all the stuff he gain he failed and Tarkin took credit and killed him with his own weapon.
The action and the effects are great. The final act with the infiltration and eventual battle at Scarif is truly awesome. It is inspiring. They keep taking chances. They almost get lucky, but it is because their is drive, passion, and the will to fight to their last breathe.
The mission was a suicide mission, non of the characters expected to come back, neither did the audience, but that does not cheapen their deaths one bit. (They were sacrifices for the greater good the we have see unfold 40 years ago when people first saw Star Wars.
The premise was great, the wrote the story from a line in the crawl of A New Hope, and made it great.
Also Darth Vader was in the movie for just enough time, and the hallway scene is spot on and One of the greatest Darth Vader moments Ever. C-3PO and R2-D2 have a great cameo.
It still is not the OT, but it is so close to it. Really the worst thing is that CGI Leia and Tarkin. I think what holds it back from being one of my favorite movies ever is just that these are characters we only get to know from this movie, where the characters from the Episodic films are legendary in our world and the galaxy far far away. Though the characters are likable and they are heroes and their deaths are impact, and the movie leads so well into the originals I wanted to go home and watch A New Hope right then.
I am glad that this movie is highly regarded even in an era of hating Star Wars, it truly deserves it. With all the negativity in the Fandom, it is heart warming when people agree that something is awesome.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
"It's another Death Star"
*Spoilers of the rest of the Trilogy also*
This movie was released 5 1/2 years ago I was 11 and I up to that point I grew up thinking there was never going to be another Star Wars movie. So when Disney bought the franchise for a ridiculous amount of money I was excited. The overall ratings for this movie on the site are overall pretty good, but there is a huge flux of terrible unfair reviews that have spurred from the huge negativity toward all the Star Wars movies produced by Disney.
This movie does not reach the levels of greatness that the OT does, and for some people it is never going to be enough. But not a rehash of A New Hope except of the giant space weapon that blows up (Which is not a positive).
Personally, I really like this movie and since 2014 it has not lost its charm. Rey, Poe, Fin, and BB-8 are great new additions. Hux and Kylo are both menacing villains. Though ROS cheapened Snoke completely. He is still compelling and that it is still Palpatine pulling the strings fits into the plot even if I don't like that he is back. Specifically Snoke takes interest in Rey in the first interaction he mentions her.
One thing looking back on the movie now I think it is terrible that Rey and Finn did not end up together. I my imagination they are together after the 9th movie.
Harrison Ford is great as Han Solo and probably has the strongest return of the main 3 human characters in the OT. Him and Leia are torn apart by Ben's fall to the dark side, but when they are reunited their chemistry is great though in this movie somber. All they wanted to do was be a family again, but that does not happen. Han Solo's death was sad and socking in the theater and is still emotional and sad today. It is the first step of portraying the conflict in Kylo " I know what I have to do and I don't know if I have the strength to do it". Clearly he is leaning toward dark at this point and now with the trilogy completed the interaction with his memory of Han Solo is stronger.
This is the not only the first chapter in the arc of Ben Solo, but for both Rey and Fin. Rey in this movie is a scavenger thrown into an adventure is awaiting her families return even though they are long gone. She sees in Han Solo the father she never had, and he is taken from him. Through the whole movie she discovers her new powers that in this movie she is very naive and amused by her own actions. Rey as a character has been over analysed and label a "Mary Sue". Which she is successful in everything she does. It is not for no reason, (She is strong with the force), but I think I is a valid complant people have. Though that is not her conflict in the movies it is not about her failure to succeed, but she does fail evermore as the trilogy progresses. Her real struggle is her identity, which is not super consistent throughout the trilogy (mostly with the opposing themes of nobody vs. Palpatine in 8 and 9), but I like the individual story each movie tells.
Fin (FN-2187) sees the faults of the first order and runs, helping Poe in the process and builds a friendship with Poe that continues through all three movies. In this movie he is a runner, but is pulled into the conflict by his connection with Rey (I think it is eveident from the first movie that he is in love with her), maybe it is not mutual. I love Fin his relationship with Rey, is friendship with Poe, and even his brief interactions with BB-8.
Poe I has been my favorite character in the trilogy from the first time I saw this movie, over the 3 movies he does not exhibit too much growth, but he is a "trigger happy fly boy" with a lot of talent. He is funny entertaining and he plays off all the characters even the weaker ones like Maz Kanata.
The overall plot is weaker compared to the characters, but is fun. I do not think is is supposed to be real sophisticated it is more entertaining. This movie is well paced with action and has a entertaing lightsaber fight (the weakest of the trilogy) you can not go wrong with a lightsaber fight. And you can also not go wrong with a rebel victory.
This movie is not faultless, there is things I don't like. I think most strong negative opinions are not based of the movie itself, but the impression the internet has left on people. I don't like Maz Kanata, I think she looks weird she is mysterious in a boring way, and is just not likable, but she has an awesome castle with the magic of a room full of aliens from around the galaxy. It is also a little contrived from A New Hope, but also I feel like this movie has so much love for the originals that it almost had to steal something. I would have preferred it was not a giant space ball with the power to destroy a star system that the rebels had to destroy before it destroyed their base.
The movie has looks amazing the effects practical and digital do not disappoint as Star Wars has always been top of the line.
In the Theater I was predictable, Poe was going to destroy Starkiller Base, I was not a long shot that Han Solo was going to die, and I even saw the lightsaber coming in the box (I think the worst scene in the movie, does not work and shows weird vague visions the served no purpose.
Also the acting is good. Anyone who is picking that out as a problem is really fishing for complaints.
It is not my favorite Star Wars movie, probably not even of the ST, it has a good characters, a good story, and is entertaining. This one does not knock it out of the park like the best of the Star Wars movie, but a good Star Wars movie is a pretty great movie. This movie is has nothing major I don't like about it, but since Star Wars is great it is mediocre for Star Wars. (Which is not bad, just with holds it from the top).
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
Harry Potter walks in the Woods
Part 1 of one book a terrible trend. I look for things to like about the movie, and there is plenty of good.
The first half of the movie is great, probably on of the better segments in the series. The opening scene, establishes the bad guys even further, and is almost funny with their dark humor.
From then on we reach our main characters and follow them the whole time, which gives us the opportunity to dive more into our main characters in isolation with each other. The scene with multiple Harrys is very fun and leads into a good action peace, with chaos in the air, and it has consequences with Mad Eye Moody's death, which affects Harry later when he tries to leave. Harry, Ron, and Hermione soon are thrown into an adventure together to hunt down and destroy the horcruxes. The mystery is well paced until they are thrown into the woods.
When they reach the woods the plot slows down. In the second half of the movie they learn of the Deathly Hallows and figure out how to destroy one horcruxe and get no clues to more.
The movie's climax is escaping from the Malfoy Mannor and Doby's death. Which if this were one movie it would be anti-climactick but it is two parts and it would be better to enjoy them as one then as two.
The Harry Potter movie's get progressively dark and this one is. The characters are more depressed, the world seems like it is crumbling, multiple characters died. The scenery in this movie is great, all the locations the heroes reach on their endless trek are beautiful. The movie is amazingly shot. The movie has humor sprinkled in a solid amount.
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are amazing their performances have obviously improved with their age. The 6th movie and this one do a really great job of building up Ron and Hermione's romance, I don't know how it takes them 8 movies to get together.
Voldemort has been slowly built up over the course of all the movies and with this movie I was time for him to take his final form, character wise.
Doby and Luna have always annoyed me, but I can look past it. It is tragic that Doby dies saving Harry, but he was written out of a few movies and mad it less impactful.
A second viewing of these movies as given me a deeper understanding of the plot and I have come to see the build up to and give context to the story.
I like this movie it is Ok. It has a strong first half and a weak second half, and fits well as a prelude to the exciting final chapter.
Creed II (2018)
My father killed your father I am going to break you
Creed 2 I think is the superior sequel to Creed and built off the ridiculous plot of Rocky 4 while it still maintains being serious.
The main problem with the first movie was that I had a hard time liking the character of Creed, but this movie showed us his path of becoming a father. This movie got me around to liking him. Though Tessa Thompson's character is still not likable. And there relationship is plagued with dialogue like "You are the only one I want to share my moments with". I am not trying to be insensitive, but it seems like they tried to hard to make the dialogue more black.
Rocky even in his old age continues to be likable and this movie added a heartwarming touch at the end with him taking the first steps to mend his relationship with his son. Sylvester Stallone is still great in his never ending role.
Michael B. Jordan's performance is good, but the way the character is written makes it hard to warm up to him.
Thrown into the mix is the story line of Bianca and the Child being partially deaf. Which I feel I forced in just as a way to be inclusive of people with disabilities. It is not that poorly done, but it just seems unnecessary in the grand scheme of the story.
The worst part of the movie is the music. Tessa Thompson's character has terrible music and it really takes a huge hit in the character as a whole and makes me grown whenever they return to it. Sprinkled in is the inclusion of lots of rap music that was not my taste and a tad annoying, though I guess it fits the character of Creed, but I don't care the music is just bad.
Despite that the score of the movie is great in some parts.
The return of Ivan Drago with his son Viktor is very entertaining and brings emotion to the fight, given he killed his dad. And it is funny and tragic that Rocky winning the fight made Drago lose everything, even his wife.
The boxing was entertaining and I think it was blended well with the drama.
I also enjoy the little call backs to the previous movies and the ESPN segments are great because you see the characters of this world through a lens that I would watch these people if they were real.
A superior sequel, not as great as the best Rocky movies, but still a worthy installment.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015)
Remember the good things
Part two of a movie based on one book still a huge failure in ever adaptation. The problem stems from greed, but I don't think it ruins the two movies entirely.
The film series as a whole I think got progressively worse. The first movie caught my attention and the dystopian would was interesting and the story was compelling. By this movie the story was harder to follow and the world was not as compelling.
The main problem with this movie is that it dragged I keeper wondering when it was going to end. Katniss's rebel forces marching through the city was entertaining, but in the end it undid what the whole movie was building to. This is a problem that most likely could have gone away if it was only one movie.
Though over arching story of both movies was great. Katniss is rescued by the rebellion she becomes propaganda for the rebels. The rebels unite the country and prepare for civil war, and fall into the trap of rescuing the victors (which is a weak point in the story, from the previous movie). Continuing onto the next movie all of our main characters end up on the ground of the battle to film propaganda again, here you is the faults of Coin really start to become apparent to the audience. Katniss takes charge and leads them on a mission to kill Snow. Most of the crew dies, most importantly Finick. They reach the president mansion to be meet with the bombs of Coin. ( A surprising twist, could have been better in one movie). Katniss realizes Coins vault and assassinates her and the people mob snow. She losses her reputation, but ends tyranny for now. She goes into exile and finds peace at home and starts a family with Peeta.
She ended up with Peeta, which is what I expect after he survived the first movie. It probably have worked better if Gale died, instead she just dismissed him with a bye and that was the last we saw of him. The side characters all got side lined with the payoff from the last movie. It was all good, but would have fit better in one movie.
Katniss's arc of always being under someone as a pawn was payed off well with her taking charge.
There was multiple scenes of Katniss just walking, which dragged.
Overall the movie was well acted, was emotional at the parts that we supposed too. I felt that the movie dragged and the strong elements of story telling form the previous movies was not as prevalent. Though it gave a sweet conclusion to the story and watching the fall of an oppressive government fall thanks to the story's hero is always rewarding to watch. It could have been better, but what came out was still good.
The Croods (2013)
"I have an idea"
Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds, two actors that just the fact they are in it gives the the movie points in my book.
Even if I did not know it was them starting in the movie the characters a great forces, butting heads both too show the short comings of the father Grug, his failure to face fear and try new things, and the comedy of Guy who is not a cave man coming up with many ideas of things just obvious to use, but in the world of the movie they are Brand New! With that Grig persist to come with his own ideas that are failed versions of things we have to day like a mobile home, rocks that he stacks together for someone to presumably carry.
The movie's message seems to be to "not be afraid of new things" and to "follow the light to tomorrow".
The movie portrays that Grug is putting his foot down on anything new, until Guy comes along to show everyone that new can be good and useful and teaches Grug that lesson.
By the end of the movie after Grug puts everyone else first be throwing them into the unknown, where minutes earlier he accepted the Guy was not wrong and new was not bad and you should not be afraid. After being stranded an idea goes off in Grugs head and he builds a contraption to return to his family.
By the end Eb, the older daughter, summarizes that's the family learned to follow the light. I think that is life we should pursue light as I. Truth and goodness, but in the context of the movie that does not make too much sense since the only development is is that they learned the previous lesson and have now become nomadic as opposed to cave people.
Eb, I think that is her name, which I think sounds too much like Eve. She starts of rebellious and shaky relationship with her father, which translates to today's society very well. Her desire for something more leads them to Guy, who she ends up falling for and as a averagely constructed romance, that is endearing and comedic, but not one of the better elements. By the end both Eb and Grug overcome their problems and Grug fixes it with a Hug his new invention. Which is very endearing, probably the best part of the film.
All the other family members have there good comedic moments, serve as comic relief.
This movie is funny. The story is ok, it did not hit me very hard, so the movie would land for me close for Ok than Good. The story is weak in the sense that it is very vague where they are going and in the end it still seems very vague. What is tomorrow obviously it means the next day, but I feel like they try to make it out to be something more as a vague place that is were they are going which is nowhere. We learn late in the movie that Guy's family died in tar which is tragic and funny at the same time. We learn his motivation is just to keep on going, but there is no clear end goal.
There is a sequel that is coming out this year that could make a clear objective of where they are going, but you can never expect too much from a sequel.
Overall this movie is funny has the threads of good story, but when watching it did not hit as hard as it might have. The movie is ok a strong 6/10, I don't plan on watching it anytime soon and probably will not stick in my memory.
Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992)
"I blew up the baby"
This sequel is worse than the original. I would not consider this a good sequel. It is not the a movie I would recommend almost ever. 4.8 I think is not fair it is not like it is the worst thing ever. As a movie itself it is ok. It made me laugh a couple times. There was a corny villain. There was an Indian Jones ester egg for some reason (I don't know if that is good or bad). The rules of this universe if changing the size something make no sense, but who cares. It does not fall into the trap of most bad sequels where they recast everyone. Half the cast is not really there, but they have the Dad, Mom, and Son. With the addition of a young Keri Russel to the cast Nicky's crush and ten family's babysitter. It made me laugh a giant baby is a little funny by itself. Specifically a few of the comical bits were:
- the baby carrying the kids in his pocket the whole time.
- the baby told a light up cowboy "howdy partner"
- Martin, I think is the main guys name, has a speak about American be in a haven for crack pot inventors, with America the beautiful in the back ground.
- the Marshall's office guy who was super excited to drive the ice cream truck for no particular reason.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
"Not if anything to say about it, I have"
I love it! In my opinion it is easily the greatest of the prequels. Ever single time it manages to make get emotional, I feel the hurt of all the characters and watch as the republic, a free state protected by the virtuous Jedi, is replaced by the evil empire.
It shows the demise of the one of the greatest movie villains Darth Vader. It hurts even if in the first two movies his portrayal is sub par. Hayden Christenson stepped up his acting, not by much but it is better.
Of all the Star Wars movies this one has the greatest and most exciting action. The battle of Corosant, Obi v Grevious, Yoda v Palpatine, and Anakin v Obi Wan. They are all entertaining, I don't care if anyone thinks they are over choreographed. The are entertaining and capture the magic of Star Wars.
Every time it just gets better, with the addition of the clone wars and other smaller media it gives amazing context and makes the whole trilogy better. But even without it, this movie is still great.
The story and characters do not compare to the original trilogy, but this one is far more exciting. I am not going to say it is better than the OT, but it is easily one of the best additions since then.
None of the performances are through the roof, but Ewan McGregor, Frank Oz, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDermid, and Samuel Jackson are all endearing characters and entertaining to watch on screen.
In recent years this movie as gain more and more respect. It now has some of the most iconic scenes in all of Star Wars.
The politics of all fictional world are always an element that pulls me and makes the situation be comparable to reality, though TPM may be about the taxation of trade routes this movies shows the fall of democracy and the rise of a "fascist" empire. And with Palpatine, an amazing villain pulling all the strings.
Though the movie sucks it ends with hope and ends with a double sunset the perfect way that leads chronologically to the OT.
Though I do have a few gripes with the movie they are all small compared to all the things I love.
Anakin and Padme's dialogue with each other is in this movie better than the previous two movies, but in most scenes it still falls flat. Though the part it plays as a driving force of Anakin's fall is the falls nicely into everything Anakin has been warned about and Palpatine used it to fuel his turn.
I do not like the excessive use of CGI clones, a bit more practicality would have been nice, though they are all supposed to look the same, it would have been hard to pull off the other way too, but they could have at least tried.
And Chewbacca did not need to be in the movie, but that is silly and such a small insignificant nit pic.
The Star Wars cannon still leaves open room for stories of Yoda, Obi Wan and Qui-Gon in exile, set up by this movie and leaves open how and if Palpatine had a part in Padme's death.
This movie is great it is a toss up if I prefer it to my other favorite installments after the originals, but it is still great.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
"You can tell me all about that tosser Harry Potter"
This my second time watching through the Harry Potter movies. And upon rewatch this was a lot better than I remember.
The biggest flaw in most of the Harry Potter movies is that they are too long. I believe if they shaved off 30 minutes of most of the movies they would be better.
Like all the Harry Potter movies the 3 main cast members are compelling and there interactions with other characters such as Dumboldor and Snape.
As the movies go along they get darker, and less humorous, but the humor in the movie lands.
Specifically this movie starting with the ending sets up the two part final chapter very well.
Dumboldor's death is very tragic and very surprising the first time, not for me I either had it spoiled or was asleep.
The relationship between Hemonie and Ron is at its strongest in this movie. Draco starts down largest part of his arc, when before he was a constant side character with little change.
Ginny and Harry are not portrayed as a good couple, according to my brother not done justice to the books.
I appreciate learning more about Voldemort and building up his master plan for the nexts movie, though it may not be strongest.
Though the most memorable part is when 100s of gollums attack Harry as they crawl out of a lake, them Dumboldore shoots fire.
The Parent Trap (1961)
Parent Trap (1961)
This movie is simple there is near nothing to complain about. If you just sit down and enjoy the movie. The movie is funny the characters are endearing, and the story is heart warming.
There is nothing special, but it is from an era that is simple and not as flashy or bloated as most movies in the present.
The plot is straightforward they meet the switch places and then they bring their parents together.
The dad's girlfriend Vicky serves as drama and as a point it make the story more complex. More importantly it opened the door for a lot of the movie's comedy.
Halley Mills has a great performance and unless you are looking for it she looks like two separate people, I think it is a great accomplishment for 1961.
Obviously the setup is an obvious plot convenience, but that is almost part of its charm, it is silly.
It touches on the unfairness of children who live in a broken home. Divorce sucks.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Attack of the Clones
I grew up watching this movie on VHS along with the Phantom Menace when I was young, but for no particular reason I peg it as my least favorite. I big Star Wars fan, and what makes me a fan is that I like the movies, seriously most Star Wars fans hate Star Wars.
As I got older I think I prefer it to The Phantom Menace and Solo.
The worst aspect of the movie is the romance between Anakin and Padmé it is poorly written and badly acted, mostly be Hayden Chrsitianson. But I have come to enjoy it over the years at the pure stupidity of the dialogue. I think the basic outline of the story of Anakin being the protector and them getting drawn into a larger adventure is not the problem and if it was executed well could have been a better part of the movie.
Though the best quality of the movie is the action. The speeder chase, the fight between Obi wan and Jango Fett, and the entire battle of Geonosis. All of these are superior to the Pod Racing scene and the duel of fates sequence.
Both the deception of the Emperor and failure of the council, display the intriguing politics of the world of the late republic.
Another positive is the first steps toward his decent to the dark side. Ewan McGreggor as Obi Wan is one of the greatest parts of the trilogy as a whole.
But the main reason I am draw to it is that it is Star Wars and that is usually just enough for me to nerd out and pick up on the small nerdy details and will push the movie over the edge of being great.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)
Mockingjay Part 1
A week ago I loaded up the the first movie not expecting much, but was yanked into an interesting world. I am disappointed whenever I enjoy a movie and then I see it crapped on in the reviews of the users of this sight. Part of that may be the unfair vendetta against adaptations of popular books to film. In this case I have no basis to compare it to so my analysis is of the film alone.
Overall I think this is a good movie. I do not think I held up to the first two movies in the series that I have only recently watched. An I coming from the perspective of not watching the final installment.
I would like to start with the bad:
The main problem of the film is the ending, mainly stemming from the fact that it is an incomplete story split into two parts. Which is a common scheme of studios to maximize profits, but the studio can not take away all the good the talented people who work on films do that make many great elements.
The main problems with the end is the trap set by President Snow. From the time the rebel forces entered the building it was obviously a trap, and I think that it is a weak story mode from the President to let the team return with the victors, just for the chance of Peeta under the influence of some science fiction thing to kill Kantniss. (Though I think there may be room to redeem this element in the final installment).
Though the good thing is these are the only large issues with movie, but an ending to a movie is one of most important elements and can bring the movie down quite a bit.
Though it did do the same things the previous movie did well. Well acted. Great design. Good story. Well paced.
The main thing of all three movies as been the realism of a totalitarian government that is oppressive and suppressive of information.
Specifically this movie displays the start of a civil war and the unavoidable reality of destruction on both sides. It also displays propaganda on both sides.
I think that it has been a solid display of a love triangle, but I think I will wait until the next movie to make a final verdict.
Overall good movie, and I will watch the next one, which is a positive, the movie left me still wanting more.
The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Classic movie
This movie is a great story that has effects that do not age well. The music is great and the characters are lovable. The movie flows well but is just good.
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Just good and is just a cute little movie
I think i overrated this movie the first time I saw it, but upon re watch it still held up. The jokes all still landed and the ending was still satisfying. The plot is not that complex, but as a fan of the MCU I still loved the characters and prefer this to the first Ant Man movie. Not much to say just a fun enjoyable movie.
