The Mandalorian: Chapter 6: The Prisoner (2019)
Ten for kids, one for adults
Really bad acting from good actors, meh dialogue with every cliché in the book, and now here it is, this episode in few words. I watched this episode with my grand kids, they loved it, so that tells me that I am not the target audience. There is nothing bad in that, and that is why I wrote the headline "ten for kids, one for adults".
The earlier episodes were so much better and the main plot seems so be at least at some level plausible, so why suddenly this episode for kids? Had to have eight episodes instead of six? The other episode which had nothing to do with the main plot was a good one.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Can't Be Held Accountable (2019)
40 minutes is too short for this kind of an episode
Plot is unbelievable but sometimes real life is. They had to put all drama in 40 minutes, so there is no room for suspense or how to build a case. SVU was probably not the best show to do this.
On the other hand, it has it's moments. Still some twists are ridiculous, like the mom at the end at the victory party. How dumb is she. I had the impression the parents are divorcing and going to the party surely does not show that mom is a good parent.
There is a cliff-hanger at the end. So the normal anger/revenge plot is on its way. I can only hope it is done better and has more sense in it.
But this show in general is worth to watch, like most of what Dick Wolf has created.
Keep Breathing (2022)
First ep ok, skipped the rest until the final moments.
Bad, really bad. The production team was good, camera and audio were good, scenery was good but not plausible. Have you watched Alone? Dude's go into wilderness and the last one there wins. Where was the debree? They crash-landed and the beach was beautiful and clean. What are the odds?
The Good Doctor (2017)
Good start but he's a bad actor
I don't buy it. Maybe someone else acting an autistic doctor would of made this show better. I know few Aspergers and they look like everybody, not like Freddie is trying to act.
Other cast is ok.
The plot is not believable, a creepy fellow having an affair with a young woman you could have anybody? Really! Maybe someone with similar qualities? But like I wrote, if you act this autistic doctor the right way, the plot would be more believable.
A Haunting in Salem (2011)
Surprise
I randomly have sessions when I watch really bad movies. I pick movies rating less than 4 so usually the movies are bad. This was much better than anticipated.
Why? I have no idea. It just worked for my taste.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Ok and somewhat entertaining
One star for beautiful girls, second star for not being dull, third star for few good lauhgs, fourth star for the staff behind this move, fifth star for seriousness and sixth just for the sake of it. This movie doesn't deserve less ratings.
Contact (1997)
What's not to like
This is an "awww-movie" of all times. Everybody loves Matthew and Jodie, am I wrong or am I right? Not the best Sci-fi there is but this has some warmth and affection in it.
Eye of the Needle (1981)
Sutherlands mediocre is other mans masterpiece
Donald Sutherland does one of his best roles. Kate Nelligan, why isn't she one of the top actresses of the time? It makes me wonder. This is ageless drama and suspension, so well made.
Columbo: Forgotten Lady (1975)
One of the most episodes to remember
Janet Leigh, at the time 48 years old, seems she's an old hag, so she has to kill his husband who barely can get out his bed (rofl). For me this is the episode I remember seing in the past. But it doesn't make much sense. Maybe back then in the 70's it wasn't the case.
Columbo: A Case of Immunity (1975)
Awkward
Not the best Columbo, but not too bad either. Many things make no sense, but there he is, investigating a case that belongs obviously someone else than a community police officer. Hector Elizondo is good as always and that is one problem, you like him too much to get caught. Sorry my english isn't good.
Hollington Drive (2021)
Thriller, not a drama
As a thriller, it's working, although the plot is very predictable. Acting was not so bad. I would have cut this to three parts or even two. Too much scene's that had nothing to do with anything. But why do reviewers call this as a drama when it's not?
La La Land (2016)
Avoided this film for a long time, and I was right
I like both, Stone and Gosling as performers, but this lacks something, like chemistry, charisma and talent. Stone was irritating and about Gosling's character I could not care less.
Maybe I hate musicals? I don't. I've watched most of them and they are at least 5 stars out of 10.
The thing is, if they cut the first hour off, maybe then I'd give 5 stars...out of 10.
Breach (2020)
Why Bruce Why?
I thought that I could count on Bruce Willis that there is something good in every movie he is starring. I was wrong, this movie is bad, and not in a "cult movie" way, this won't be a "cult movie", ever.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
Really? Rio is the capital of Brazil?
Well, that wasn't even the worst, the movie is so bad you want to rip your eyes off...
Cannibal Troll (2021)
No reason to be scared
I liked the actresses in general, but somewhat over acting made me want to stop watching. I wanted to be scared but I wasn't. I liked the end thou, the two main characters ended up together. That's the reason for four stars instead of two.
