Unique
16 March 2023
Saving Lincoln is an unique take on that time period, with authentic photographs of the buildings and people from that era, gave it an unique sense of connection, kinda puts the actors and the viewer back in time, Tom Amandes take on Lincoln was comical, to the point when watching it, I couldn't imagine this Lincoln being elected President, sometimes he reminded me of the Gov on the Benson sitcom, I had never heard of Ward Hill Lamon before, so there were no expectations of this character, we all know how the story turns out, was just looking for some unknown filler to the pvt life of the President, It's a good one time watch, fast paced and well acted.

98 Godzilla, Norwegian style
2 December 2022
Troll is a copy and paste of Godzilla 98 with Matthew Broderick, except this has a female in that role, the filmmakers didn't even try to be original with the screenplay, the characters are exactly the same, and that was a little annoying, the Troll does look good, but is giving little to do, and there were no supporting fairytale characters to give it any depth, would've been nice if they had encountered some Oracles or woodland creatures on their journey, the main cast just doesn't connect with each other, maybe they're trying to setup a prequel to give more detail about the Trolls existence, gave it a six because it's fast paced and the scenery is nice as well.

Underwhelming
30 October 2022
The idea of Key&Peele as stop-motion characters was enough to draw me in, the problem with the movie is they're not the main characters even though the title says Wendell & Wild, the main character is the school girl Kat, and because her life's trauma left her cold, she hard to like, the animation has high production value, it looks good, but the story is about too many different things, and the title characters fade into the background, Kat is supposed to be some kind of hell something lol, and her mentor played by Angela Bassett has the same powers but it's not fleshed out enough to understand what the purpose of those powers are, overall a cute Halloween movie for a family to watch, parents turn off your brain and let the kids enjoy the animation.

Medieval fantasy
28 September 2022
The medieval setting was perfect for this genre of films, they could've added some other medieval mythical creatures to go along with the werewolves, like running into some fairies in the woods, or elves and maybe a troll to cross a bridge or something, but obviously the budget was really low, these "warriors" didn't even have horses, don't remember seeing any animals in this film, which is odd given the medieval setting, usually in these types of movies there are always chickens and pigs running around with sausage links hanging from poles and lots of vegetables and eggs seen everywhere, so to distract from lack of background settings they get right to the action, they do have the usual band of medieval character tropes , good one time watch.

This movie is watchable
16 July 2022
The actors took their jobs seriously, Arianna Scott put in a really focused performance that made the actors in scenes with her really step up their game, Eric Roberts is his usually smug self, but couldn't loaf with Arianna, the end scene was like him giving her his approval for her outstanding performance, the casual movie watcher might not appreciate what they saw, but it was job well done Miss Scott.

The story was good, the pacing was good, but people want to compare it to a movie with a huge budget I enjoyed it for what it was, a low budget "mockbuster" with a decent plot and decent acting.

What happened to Stand-Up comedy?
16 June 2022
Another stand-up flop from a veteran performer, following the likes of Katt Williams, this was a disaster from start to finish, why do some comedians think it's funny to talk about the smell of a woman's private parts? It's so childish and insulting to the audience, this was by far his worst outing, like a relative telling random jokes at a family gathering, no setups or punchlines just off the top gibberish that goes nowhere, painful to watch another established comedian use his past fame to just do nothing new.

Great Fun
15 June 2022
Ryan Reynolds type of acting needs the right co-stars to play off of and this kid was perfect for that part, the casting was job well done, family friendly and rewatchable, the plot was good but it didn't matter, the cast seemed to like each other and that made it work, highly recommended.

Trying to fix the original ending
12 June 2022
The Boy original movie ending got slammed by critics and fans alike, it ruined the whole premise of the movie, so the sequel spent their whole movie trying to fix that ending, they did what they could to restore the "doll" as the main antagonist, the movie is worth a watch just to see the filmmakers at work on a restoration project, Katie Holmes was a good choice for the lead, the rest of the cast was ok, there just seemed like it was always something missing in this movie, the character Joseph seemed straight out of Scooby-Doo, the creepy old neighbor, Katie looked most of the time like there was more she should be doing, good points, like the first movie the cinematography was nice.

"The Boy" is.....drum roll
11 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The Boy is Michael Myers, but you don't realize this until the last act, after all the original title for the Halloween movie was the Babysitter killer or something like that, and Greta is the nanny to Brahms, the first two acts are suspenseful and makes you wonder about Greta's sanity, the movie looks great with the old English manor and landscape, all the good spooky house tropes, voices, footsteps , thunder and lightning, Lauren Cohen worked well with the material she was given, credible performance, supporting cast did good as well, the scenery alone is worth the watch and not just Lauren (lol) nice Halloween movie for mature audiences.

Halloween Fun
23 October 2021
The movie doesn't try to be something it's not, it's clearly aware of what it is and stays in that lane, Lucy Fry (Zoe) was the standout performance, they could do a movie on Zoe alone, she was that good and convincing as a vampire, the Blair and Benny characters are mostly annoying, will quickly remind you of Blade, overall a good watch.

"Boyz n the Hood" meets "Heat" with a taste of "Sugarhill"
12 September 2021
There is nothing new to see here for fans of this genre, you have your typical band of supposed to be likeable thieves, the tech savvy guy, the muscle guys, the one girl character who falls for the leader, the best friend of the leader who has issues, Bucci Franklin who tries to do a Michael Wright impression from the Sugarhill movie, the genius leader with internal conflicts, so all the usual tropes and cliche's that are in heist movies, it was fun watching to see if they missed any lol.

Ignore the hate
14 August 2021
This movie doesn't try to be more than it is, it's what others have said, a mix of John Wick and Kill Bill especially, with a little of most assassin movies thrown in, female styyyle....they had fun and it showed, Angela Bassett with the name Anna Mae? C'mon that was great, nothing convoluted or overly complicated to follow, don't overthink this, just relax and watch some good action with some nice looking ladies who can bring the pain and then go have a milkshake lol enjoy!

NICE MOVIE
4 August 2021
Christina Milian is so radiant thru the entire movie, we know this is assembly line romantic comedy, but Christina Milian! Lol yea she looks THAT good, beautiful island scenery, good music, what I did like about it that separates it from other similar comedies is that it's not over the top silly, they develop the story and the characters really good and fast, the only thing I didn't like was the ending, but no spoilers here, check it out, Christina Milian! Lol.

Disappointing
23 July 2021
This could've been a great movie, if Roman Polanski didn't play the lead role, the protagonist Trelkovsky is a complex character that calls for a seasoned actor to convey to the audience, this person is supposed to be paranoid, but Polanski never looks worried about anything, the supporting cast has to overact to make Polanski look passive and that ends up making them look bad and sometimes just silly, the storytelling gets real lazy, and Polanski just pulls the Rosemary's Baby reveal out to show how, thru his eyes all these nice old people are really evil, what a letdown this movie, just watching a guy go about his day to day is all you really get...Roger Ebert got it right.

Enjoyable Movie
26 June 2021
Ignore the low ratings, this is a fun, action packed movie, the stars show up and put in a good performance, Liam Neeson, Laurence Fishburne and Amber Midthunder really carry the movie, Amber was a pleasant surprise for me as a older viewer, never heard of her before, so was intrigued by this young woman, who is native American, the supporting cast seemed really into their roles as well, like everybody bought in to making this film a success, really good stunt work with the big rigs as well, they touched on some familiar themes, corporate minions vs the upright hourly workers, unconditional family love, this is something different really enjoyed this movie.

Get Out 2?
14 June 2021
Black Box is an entertaining movie, well written and acted, with the veteran actress Phylicia Rashad as the anchor, like all movies in the same genre it takes bits and pieces from other films, add a pinch of Black Mirror with a touch of Get Out and some creativity and you have Black Box...which leans (IMO) more towards Get Out , they even have an actress that resembles a cast member from Get Out, Charmaine Bingwa looks almost identical to Betty Gabriel, once the plot is revealed some of the characters take on a whole new look, and gives the movie the creepy vibe we were waiting for, Amanda Christine is adorable and annoying at the same time, overall this is a good movie and maybe even worth a second watch.

Underrated
15 January 2021
This is a very enjoyable movie for action movie fans, it has some familiar gangster tropes that works well in this film, the acting was great, the ancient Egyptian background was used perfectly, as an American I've become fond of Netflix's international library of films, Lion's Heart(english title) moves at a decent pace with just enough flashbacks for character development, looking for some international flavor for your "GANSTAH" dish? give this a try...

Great Episode
8 July 2020
Always good acting with the regulars, but this episode had great guest acting, the exchange between George Kennedy and Katherine Ross really showed her skills and she could hold her own with a veteran actor like George Kennedy, the episode was well written with many layers to it.

My favorite Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi-wellington brought me to this tv series and I was not disappointed, it was a pleasant surprise to see good acting, really good writing on top of seeing her, all main characters had substance and were not over the top cliché characters, each episode could stand on it's own with plot twists and reveals, if anybody is looking for a good binge watch you couldn't go wrong with this Nigerian gem.

Night of the Wolf
6 May 2020
One the best Big Valley episodes in the entire series, really showcased Peter Breck's acting abilities, The Big Valley was always a watch in our home and admired the family dynamic of the Barkley's as it seemed similar to the Cartwright's love for each other, the show was similar to Bonanza where you have grown offspring who still live with their parent and don't have families of their own, and the end of this episode shows how very alike they are.

The Set Up for flashbacks
4 May 2020
The main reason for me watching this film was Adesua Etomi-Wellington, I've watched a few of her movies and have enjoyed them, she is (IMO) very beautiful, and a good actress, so I hoping for another enjoyable film featuring her, this movie didn't deliver on that premise, flashback after flashback, left the movie very disjointed, and gave no reason to care for any particular character, looking at Adesua was the only reason I hung around, however big UP to Netflix for featuring International films, there are really good Nigerian films to watch.

These "Freaks" should never come out, Night or day
20 April 2020
What a mess, this movie should've been a public service announcement warning kids about creepy old men in ice cream trucks, then it couldn't make up it's mind whether to be a horror movie or sci-fi movie, combining the two just didn't work, the plot starts out making you feel like you were late to the theater and missed the first half, the dad was super annoying, it's like they were making up key elements as they went along...
