Evil (2019)
The name of the show should be not that evil
Into season 3 now as unless it's really bad I usually have to see a show out till the end.
Just like others have mentioned, I am finding the 4 kids annoying, I'm hoping they grow out of the moaning and bickering.
The secrets kept between everyone is frustrating, everyone decides for some reason to keep every wierd thing that happens when they are on thier own to themselves.
And the thing that winds me up most is that it ended up being more of a drama than the horror show I expected a series called EVIL to be.... I mean 60 demon houses and the most I've seen is a few nightmare demons and supposed demons wanting to join the church or scare people with drones... if the Evil in this world is anything like in this series.... then I'm not worried.
Up the scares
Up the explanations
Up the confrontations
Down the secrets
Down the kids.
Blue Beetle (2023)
Was I entertained, not really!
Where do I start... Ok, the movie has family values, includes Mexican culture and characters to the superhero rosta and the CGI was decent, BUT
The movie just didn't pull me in, it reminded me of a mash up of other superhero movies but worse.. the Hero didn't make me root for him and the baddies sucked at thier job too, no chrisma and lacking in the threatening department. The supporting people came over as either pointless or unbelievable.
Sadly, apart for a couple of not too bad action scenes, It was easily compared to a tv episode rather than a full blown DC movie.
This was Dcs version of the ms marvel series quality wise for me. 5 out of 10 tops.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
Worst MCU series yet
I know this is always down to personal opinion but my order so far is as follows.
Wandavision 9/10
Loki 9/10
What if 8/10
Hawkeye 7/10
Falcon and winter soldier 7/10
Moon knight 6/10
Ms marvel 4/10
I hope it starts to improve.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Glad I went
Nearly got put off going after reading a few of these posts . So glad I went anyway. Havnt had as much fun at a marvel movie since endgame (last spidy movie was close).
Watch wandvision and "what if" series first if poss.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Could of been so much more
I totally understand what they were putting across with the father son issues but I became less interested as time went by and only stuck with it as I was hoping for a twist to come along at some point.
Major fan of Dex, but I think this ending did him an injustice.
From about episode 5 I thought I saw signs that Harrison was actually the trinity killers son who was out for revenge.. he had tracked down and killed Hannah and the real Harrison, then found the letter leading to Dex.. with the intention of getting Dex to admit to killing his father over the next 4/5 episodes.
In the last episode I thought "Harrison" could of killed the sheriffs daughter and left her in an empty box with the rest of the missing girls for them to find, then once meeting up with Dex would of had one crazy end fight ... but no
I mean, a more fitting end would of been for Dex to of had a blade on him somehow and once realising he needs to die when on his knees in the snow, confess to his son all the innocent people who died due to his actions ... then plunge the blade into himself and make one last kill.
Left feeling a bit empty to be honest.
Tom of Your Life (2020)
Could of been somthing special.
Wow.. I've never been so disappointed with a movie, with such a great premise , I was expecting big things. I mean its about a guy who ages 4 years ever hour.. how could that fail.
This movie was average at best. No connection with either of the two mains and the script was all over the place.
I was expecting a forrest gump feel good type of movie but with the uniqueness of trying to fit it into 24 hours, which could go down so many routes, and ending on a real tear Jerker.. towards the end, I was really hoping the movie would pull a few points back with a twist that had Tom revert back to a baby after 24 hours and live a new life every day, which would of fitted nicely with how she already had clothes in the boot of the car at the start as they could of been his from the day before.
I don't really review much but I this is the first time I've felt a movie should of been so much more.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Great sci-fi series
I am not a trekkie, I watched a few of the old movies and some episodes of the different series along the way, I am more of a sci-fi fan in general. I have only just watched episode 2 and can already tell, this is up there with battlestar galactica and stargate universe, I really enjoyed the 3 latest Star Trek movies and this series is more in the direction of those and in my opinion this series gives the franchise the same type of upgrade.
If you want an action packed sci-fi series that has decent acting then this is for you, if your a old Trekkie that wants the days of will shatner back then you might be disappointed.
I can't believe all the low scores, too many fan boys giving low scores when a new series is slightly different (but still better in my view) than other Star Trek ones. If the lows scores nearly put you off giving this a try, then after watching episode one... Put up your own thoughts.
