Jack & Bobby (2004)
Brain-washing
I finally understand why US goes around bombing and slaughtering people or even standing for the massacres of others (as it will happen in the coming days)and nobody says a word. The whole world is burnt, HIV is killing Africa, US forces are occupying countries (eg Iraq) or destroying others (Serbia) and all Americans are interested in is the American president. Do you really believe that show helps people be interested in politics or go for voting? It just hides the real problems. That thing is pure propaganda, equal to those in Germany 65 years ago. Honestly I thought Everwood was dangerous for promoting a conventional life and its watchers could die out of boredom - obviously there is always worse coming...
7th Heaven (1996)
So unimportant, so dangerous
7th Heaven is a glorious example of how brainwashing and lack of intelligence can prevail. The typical story of teenage girls who can do everything from the age of 2 since they remain virgin, of boys who get married just to have sex - that's so great, I always wondered why the divorce rates are so high. Of course at some point they all lose their way to God, so typical in all Christian stories, but parental love shows them the way to return. All these include political references, a real love for Bush and strict commitment to conservatism. Cops, priests, Iraq's "heroes", what is else is left? Pope and Latin American dictators? I think it's a disgrace for all those who took part in that, although not even one had any talent so at least none was wasted. Unfortunately we are not talking only about bad acting, that whole thing is dangerous especially for children who are led to adopt specific political theories, insulting any person who stands for democracy and progress. There have been many bad moments in the history of television, this is certainly one of them. PS.Blond father, blond mother, dark daughter. Who is the father of Ruthie, Mrs Camden?
The Omen (2006)
The best comedy after a long time
It's been such a long time since I laughed that much in a cinema. Of course I wasn't alone, everybody was making jokes and comments. It was kind of a party time. I really enjoyed that film! But in the case someone went to see a horror film, then there would be a problem and the only solution is renting the old DVD. The actors were all terrible with the only exception of Mia Farrow. And I am sure the producers spent most of the time searching for the kid. It's a miracle they found some kid playing that bad. In the first movie, Harvey Stephens (Damien) made you chill. In that one, kid looked like suffering from constipation. Maybe that sounds bad for a little boy but i don't see why any little boy must play in movies. Since none spent time or money trying to make something new out of the old script, couldn't they spend some time trying to make a film?
A History of Violence (2005)
Save your money!!!
A disappointment for all his fans. I would happily give all my money to Croneberg to collect and burn all the copies of the film. The director was just absent, actors were playing just because they were supposed to do that, there was absolutely nothing there, except for the smell of the empty. The drama of a superman who regretted and found the forgiveness inside the Holly Family. Violence+sex+forgiveness, Croneberg didn't make a movie, he copied the Bible. Why do I have to suffer just because he decided to become politically correct? is it a sign of age, of pleasing some, does he need the money or just aging? And the violence scenes(wanna-be-Tarantino, but why would you like to be Tarantino after theCrash?) were pathetic. I just hope that Croneberg had a gun pointing at him while filming, that and the Alzheimer would be the only excuses...PS.That last happy-end scene, with the kids feeding the bad father and the gazing was the worse i've ever watched since the age of the "little house on the prairie"
