Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Sony, you are reedemed.
Okay first of all, WHAT SONY? A good animated film?! A GREAT animated film?! Don't has reedemed themselves in my book and have created the DEFINITIVE Spider-Man movie in the process.
Owaranai hito: Miyazaki Hayao (2016)
Great material, not the greatest production.
If your a fan of Miyazaki, see this movie. If your someone who's going to go into the movie valuing production design, this isn't the movie for you.
Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)
A really solid second half.
This movie is slow to start off but near the halfway point it starts to pick up. There are many things to praise such as the great animation and some clever writing, but other things that didn't hit so well with such as the old memes and obvious product placement (which I guess isn't a valid argument because it's the internet?). I overall had a really good time, this movie has some great scenes.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Kept me hooked the whole time.
Bad Times At the El Royale was one of the most enjoyable movies i've seen this year. Everything from the actors to the screenplay kept me hooked, I couldn't stop watching. Keep a look out in particular for the great characters and genius tension filled moments. Overall i had very few problems with this film, one being that I didn't feel like Chris Hemsworth's character was extremely fleshed out (although still a good character overall). Worth the ticket price. Go see this movie.
Boku no hîrô akademia THE MOVIE: 2-ri no eiyû (2018)
A great addition to the series.
I went into this movie expecting good things. And i came out having seen now one of my favorite movies of all time. Everything was great: the comedy, the crazy action, and of course, the animation. This movie is an obvious must see for anime and manga fans aswell as outsiders.
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
No movie like it.
I recently had the pleasure of watching this movie for the first time just today. And I had no idea what I was missing. I envy anyone who hasn't seen it.
Everything about this movie is amazing, for one: the performances. This amazing performance by Anthony Hopkins is amazing and is like nothing I've ever seen before, he truly captures the fear of a real villain. Second, the story, this film is filled with moments where I was completely glued to the screen in suspense, something that rarely happens to me. I was completely captured by the idea of what scary or disgusting thing was going to happen next.
WATCH THIS FILM YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
Incredibles 2 (2018)
Pixar does it again
Incredible II was a blast, from great comedy to great action this movie had me hooked from the opening scene. I didn't feel, at any part of the movie, that a scene was useless, i was again, entertained at all times. On top of all of this the voice acting was exceptional, typical for a Pixar movie. The one problem that I had was that the villain was a bit predictable, I see we're they tried to divert attention but I caught it almost right away.
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Improves on everything from the first movie!
Ant-man and the Wasp is now one of my favorite Marvel movies. Ant-man was already one of my favorites but had a large problem...the villain was terrible. This movie (which technically has two villains) did the whole villain thing alooooot better. On top of the great villains the action was absolutely great and a lot of fun, the shrinking and phasing created some of the best in the MCU. And lastly, by far one of the funniest MCU movies to date. I'm already a big fan of Paul Rudd and he was great, on top of that Michael Pena stole the show, he was absolutely hilarious. I think everyone should see this movie it's impossible not to enjoy.
P.S. (the CGI is reeeallly good)
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
One of the BEST super hero movies ever made. period.
When watching super hero movies I have one problem: there is often no stakes. Example, when watching Black Panther there was a period of time when I was just waiting for T'challa to come back to life, and of course, he did. This movie totally flips the script. From the beginning to the end I was scared of my favorite, often young, characters dying. Annnnddd guess what...it was a bloodbath. PEOPLE DIED. And it was NOT the people you would expect. In the end, we were left with a a familiar, but mixed group of people. I CANNOT WAIT for what is coming next. Now I just have to wait a year...I don't know if I can make it.
