They should have used the deaging technology for the entire movie. It worked great for the opening sequence, so I would have used it for the duration.

The storyline is decent and there is some great action and I definitely enjoyed it more than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The Helena character was badly cast, just too smug for me, irritating and needless smirking. The switching between selfish to caring about Indie was also odd, their relationship was strange.

It's not a terrible movie, but I think the producers missed a trick as mentioned earlier not using the deaging tech all the way through, with Ford being 80 it would have at least felt more like an Indiana Jones movie.

It tried to throw so many nods to the original and previous movies, that it felt like an awful remake. It isn't a remake but it is awful.

The Scream movies although slasher movies have always contained an element of humour, but this had none.

My major gripes are below:

The Loomis connection is dead in the water. Maybe they would have been better off connecting Stu, who was also one of the original murderers.

The new characters were awful. Arrogant stuck up brats.

When did Sidney and Gale forget to fight? In one on one with the killer(s) they were so soft.

Some of the editing was awful. An empty hospital and a big house party with no one outside.

Lack of kill motivation. I know I mentioned Loomis earlier, but the story was s***. The previous movie at least had a solid and certainly more credible motive for the killings.

They killed the comedy relief when they killed Dewey.

Really disappointing.

How the hell people rate this I will never understand, but clearly I'm in a minority. I didn't like this adaptation at all, boring show and I didn't find the characters as interesting as previous adaptions. Go try The Return of Sherlock Holmes, now that is a great Sherlock Holmes show.

Good fun this one. Likeable characters good storylines. Comedy/Mystery/Action in one. The earlier ones with Ray Vecchio are the best before he left.
