Save your money, this is like 1983 again in a not good way
17 October 2018
I know it must be hard to come up with new ideas for films and the success of guardians of the galaxy, ready player one etc to revitalise the old times, leads this film to try to recapture ET and goonies.

I tried to like it, I persisted for 30 minutes until the robot came alive and then gave up, up until this point I was just left wandering about the massive plot holes, 1 - EMP on the car and the robot still works (minus one thruster), 2 - just how big is this kids back yard to watch this thing being dumped and then taking 2 hours to find it?

The plastic moulded robot's flapping ears were the endpoint for me,plus the cinematography just led me to suspect that this is a puppet and there is someone below waving it in the air.

If you want a super low budget, fisher price hero, go ahead and good luck.

Peace!

George Lucas has run out of Puff
16 September 2018
As a stand alone film, its fine, as a precall to the original star wars from the 70's its painful. It's over 2 hours and only really tells you three facts, that, well you already know from the originals. Han was the gritty one and this version is just so 2018, kid friendly. Star Trek reboot was so much better than this, George, you sold out to Disney and have lost your touch on pushing the boundaries of the imagination. Shame.

Wow this is getting worse each episode
28 August 2018
After being a loyal fan for many years of Suits all I can say is that I want Harvey back, he was once bad arse and is now a pushover, its like LA Law has gone to therapy in season 8, jeez, give it back some teeth. It's embarrassing.

Its a 2018 George Orwell meets Guardians of the Galaxy
10 May 2018
I had no idea what to expect from this film, I suspected another pacman movie, but boy this is the best film I have seen in ages.

Its a multi layer film predicting the human race in the future living dependant on VR to escape their impoverish existence. Playing each other in order to win coins to pay their way in the real world. Sound familiar to life today with everyone online in order to achieve notoriety or social interaction?

The GOTG connection is in the cinematic direction and music, it has Wade as the main character appearing as an avatar who is Jon Bon Jovi, I could spend hours seeing this over to discover more past references. You see old gaming like Atari and hear big music from the 80's.

I wont spoil it but the ending brings it all back to what life should be about.

It's clever as it will appeal to millennial's, boomers and older people that have not yet been branded by society ;0)

Steven Spielberg has created a film that is an extension to District 9 and is based on the writing of Earnest Cline.

If you only watch one film this month and want to be challenged intellectually, entertained and left with a feel good ending that wants to change the future back to when people valued face to face instead of FaceTime, go see it.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson (2016–2017)

You have to watch this, its great
20 December 2017
So as a 40 something, I have grown up in a time when JCVD was quite a star, never as big as Arnold or Bruce, more like a Rutger Hauer of the 90's.

This show is a brilliant concept and plays out perfectly. Jean Claude is a washed up actor who is at face value plodding along minding his own business. Meanwhile unbeknown to all he is a secret agent.

The show has a fascinating combination of reminding us of trade mark van damme moves and references previous movies in a laugh out laugh manner, at the same time it has a deeper inner meaning, which is in a way calling to the world to let Jean Claude come back to the limelight. Not as the tough guy but as who you see here, (If you watch it listen out for his last line in the last episode). It's clever, funny, entertaining and I hope to see more of this and also wish him all the best in getting new work that is this good.

It's as much a review of American history as it is about the magazine
13 December 2017
So from reading previous reviews on here, I for one would like to champion it as an enlightening story. It depicts playboy through the decades and how it changes in order to remain relevant, yes some of it is pandering, however, the reminder of what society was like then and now is enough to enjoy the events of history. It is actually sobering to to see what life was like back in the 50's and how far we have progressed to the present day, it is not quite what Happy Days portrayed IMHO.

So watch it, it is rewarding, enjoyable and informative in a slightly biased way. Hugh is what he was, in his time he was relevant, he seams old fashioned and antiquated now, but that is evolution. For what he was and what he believed in you have to appreciate what he tried and did achieve.

Oh my god this is so bad
24 November 2017
I guess this is fat boy butler's last film, we all get old, hey ho, but honestly, is this his swam song? if so, it'd poor. the writing is copied from so many films before it. It was nice to see andy garcia working again, otherwise it really is bad. Given the choice I would rather spend a couple of hours washing windows than watch this tripe.
