Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Gimme Shelter - Part Two (2022)
Again!,
I wrote a review of another Dick Wolf show, FBI and FBI International, the first shows of the season, about how many Wolf shows use bombs and hostages as plot lines. So sure enough, first Law and Order Organized Crime and SVU, deals with sex trafficking and-drum roll- a bomb and the perp taking a hostage. This time the bomb went off just as the cop gave up trying to defuse it. Don't viewers get bored of bomb plots and hostage taking? NBC is considering dropping the third prime time hour every week night. Might as well, I'm ready to bail from these Wolf shows. Seems to be a lack of creativity among the writers.
FBI: Hero's Journey (2022)
Show some creativity
Maybe I watch too many Dick Wolf shows. Can't tell them apart anymore. Catastrophic bombs, last second defusing by the hero, every other show has a hostage situation, or drug kingpins and cartels. FBI, Most Wanted, International, Chicago PD, Organized Crime, can't remember the last episode that stood out. Even first episode of Special Victims Unit has a bomb. For the first episodes of the new season, this is the best they can come up with? No wonder NBC is thinking of getting rid of the last hour. Pretty much done with all of them. And with all the FBI scandals lately, a lot of people have lost faith and credibility with the FBI.
Yellowstone: The World Is Purple (2020)
Why a cliffhanger? Not very original
Watch 10 episodes for this finale? No real resolution except tribe will file environmental objections. No real explanation why Willa loses job except for vague harassment complaint? And Beth takes over? Kill off Beth, Kacey, and John? Jimmy paralyzed? How does Beth survive such a big bomb blast? John shot numerous times in middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception? Kacey could survive, he protected himself. "Who survives?" cliffhangers no longer original plot line since "Who shot J.R." Makes me less interested for next season because three or four main characters won't be killed off without some convoluted explanation of how they survive.
