BROK the InvestiGator (2022 Video Game)
8/10
Punch and Click
5 January 2024
BROK is a game where you can punch and investigate a cartoon world gone wrong. The moment I started to play as this alligator, I wanted to see what the world was like. The mystery gets intense as each chapter continues from the next. There are multiple endings and your choices will determine the lives of everyone around you. The gameplay allows you combat options but I'd recommend training often to level up. While this game is very cartoony in nature, it hits like a truck in the feels. I'd recommend this for the art style and the amazing story. The voice acting sounds great and I love the different expressions Brok and the other characters have. This is a must buy as it works perfectly fine on most consoles.

Being a Frog never looked so cool
11 January 2020
Amphibia is such a fun show. Each episode tells a relatable tale in a world full of little frogs and intimidating toads. When a young girl Anne is transported to a world of frogs, she finds her first true friendship with Sprig Plantar and his family. After shows like Gravity Falls, it's nice to see shows take risks and stand out with both premise and characters. Anne is a great reflection of the creator Matt Braly and her voice Brenda Song. You'll understand when you watch. The colorful of Amphibia is so beautiful and lived in; you'll want to stay for a long time.

The World of Witches we wish we had
11 January 2020
A beautifully self aware horror comedy that gives us a glimpse into a world full of monsters, witches and the unknown. Disney TV animation continues on their streak of comedies with intelligent mysteries and well written characters. But if I'm being honest, the true reason to watch is the main character Luz,who with her own quirks, learns lessons of friendship in a world where she is a true outsider. Alex Hirsch's voice role of King is also a highlight that I'd oddly compare to Mushu or the Genie from Disney's most famous animated films. This, Amphibia and Ducktales are shows I'll be looking forward to continuing throughout the year. Give it a shot on YouTube and see if you like it.

Return to Disney Magic
6 June 2019
Don Bluth's first animated film brings back the magic of Walt Disney with a tale of rats and mice tangled in a battle of different ideologies. The film engages you with the lead Mrs. Brisby who travels to save her son and find common ground with the rats. But it's Dom Deluise as Jeremy who steals the show. Don Bluth is well known for his animation style and the animation is classic and gothic in its design. The story may be dark but always remembers the magic of films such as Snow White and Fantasia. I'd highly recommend this film especially if you want an uplifting experience.

More Aggretsuko please...

This is a pretty fun show. It deals with the heavy adult problems we all experienced juxtaposed with fun and vibrant ideas. The style may be from previous series Bojack Horseman but contains a new fresh look into characters with new possibilities for stories. Watch only if you like cartoons with fun characters and a lot of adult moments. I love Netflix! Buddy Thunderstruck Season 2 when?

This show is dope. A great comedy that has natural humor and cool characters. Adult Swim is killing it with their current shows. This show reminds me of the days of Aqua Teen. Not a lot of violence and a very chill vibe. Watch this show if you like cartoons that give you a dreamlike experience.

Anyone can be Spiderman
29 December 2018
Spider Man Into the Spider Verse was a glorious, exciting and well told film. As a fan of the character of Spiderman since the original Raimi films, I can confidently say that this film pays tribute to its co-creators Lee and Ditko, the legacy of Spider Man and even the comic book medium itself. Miles Morales is the 2nd superhero of color this year who proves that anyone under the mask can be a hero. Alongside him is Spider Gwen, a cool but interesting character who also dates back to her original character in the comic. Peter Parker and the rest of these Spider People bring a different and interesting perspective on the character and with genuine comedy, depth and motivations make these characters full of life. This is a stylish, fast paced and well told movie. It's a movie I'd recommend even if you don't know much about Marvel's wall crawler. 10/10.
