The Christmas Shoes (2002)
If you haven't had a good cry in awhile, watch this movie and you'll get it
I couldn't believe how sensational this movie really was. I am a DVD seller on eBay and this has been my best seller on Christmas for the past few years, and since I had an extra copy I decided to pop it open and see what all the fuss was about. It was the most heart-warming Christmas movie I had ever seen in my life.
The little boy Nathan (Max Morrow) was so adorable and cute, and seeing him do whatever it takes to get his mother the shoes will just steal your heart.
Just one warning. Make sure you have your tissues ready before you sit down to watch this movie. I'm not much in the tears department, and I might cry a couple times a year if that, and this past evening was one of those times.
Poseidon (2006)
Action was great, but the entire movie was mostly emotionless
The movie Poseidon Adventure, made a long time ago definitely topped this one. I didn't like how this one was modernized and changed around.
The title wave comes in the very beginning of the movie, not allowing enough time to introduce the characters of the story. The sets didn't seem to have that much work put into them, and you couldn't really tell the boat was supposed to be up-si-down.
The emotion of the characters seemed a little off, and it felt the whole movie as if something were missing.
Now for the highlight of the movie. The actor Jimmy Bennett, who played Conor James, was just wonderful. He had every emotion of a 10 year old boy you would expect in that situation. The whole movie, the audience cares more about him than anyone else on the boat. The cute child deserves an award for that performance, but I don't think anyone else does.
There were definitely a lot of missing pieces from this movie.
The Wonderful World of Disney: Safety Patrol (1998)
Cute Children, Horrible Movie, What the hell was that?
Now, I have no way of knowing whether this movie was supposed to be realistic or not, sure didn't seem like it.
It begins with a child named Scout Bozell (Bug Hall) who has a life long dream of becoming a safety patrol for his school. He is a very clumsy kid.
In the movie, there is a child who is eaten by a giant tuna fish, a huge squirrel statue that goes through a whole neighborhood, a dead frog that comes back to life during a science lab experiment, and a whole bunch of other unrealistic things that were just not funny at all. The movie seems like it was written by a bunch of middle school kids who had nothing better to do, not experience producers.
Scout gets involved in the wrong crowd, who is a gang of bullies who are in charge of the safety patrol. Instead of helping the kids cross the street, they give them wedgies and take their money. The only good actors in the movie.
Also, are two people who pose as maintenance workers to steal the valuables from the school, and are working under false names. Their performance wasn't too impressive either.
This movie just was filmed with mainly unknowns, except for Bug Hall. Not that you have to be a famous actor for a good actor, but I have no idea what the casting director for this movie was thinking.
50 Cutest Child Stars: All Grown Up (2005)
Terrible
I bet that nobody would have voted the Simpson kids as number one for cutest child stars, that was just plain awful. I didn't even see some of the most cute children on that program. What happened to Mark Lester? AKA- Oliver Twist from the 1968 film Oliver! If you have seen Oliver!, you would agree that Mark Lester belongs in the top ten, if not number one, even though his movies weren't too popular, he was great in them. I believe this program was made only for American actors.
Sara Gilbert was hardly cute, she was funny, but her character in Roseanne was just completely snobbish.
I also don't see what is cute about the cast of Saved by the Bell, a bunch of high schoolers.
Too many awards were given to groups, and this was hardly worth seeing.
There were a lot more than 50 people given awards for the 50 cutest child stars. The E! opinion of the best stars aren't even real stars.
