Exit 0 (2019)
Loved it!
I haven't enjoyed a movie such much for a long time. Sure, it has some flaws but name one movie that doesn't?
The actors were great and one should not be put back by some of the acrors' exchanges. We could always come up with some better ideas...after we watch the movie but a movie is just that, a movie
The settings were perfect. The acting was not exaggerated and I felt not one boring moment all through the movie.
I did have some questions when the film ended and I had to go back to check some of the scenes to finally understand the ending.
I would encourage anyone to watch this film and I am convinced that most of the watchers will agree with me.
Give me a movie like this anytime :-)
The Woman in Black (1989)
What!? A masterpiece??
I watched this movie last night expecting a solid, yes, scary story that would leave me hooked for a while.
I had not read the critics left bt various watchers so I approached this as a true discovery outclassing most of the other
similar movies.
What a disappointment! Not that the acting, in general, was quite appreciable but the story itself
left much to be desired. As the story unfolded I expected at least a couple of really scary scens but, alas,
I wasted my time.
As with many films, this one seemed to be promising from the beginning even though on the ' déjà vu ' side
but I hung on until almost the end, expecting some logic explanations to this annoying story. It never arrived.
R. I. P. Woman in Black.
Oh! Yes! I must not forget the images of the woman, just standing ( ? ) there in the middle of the lake.
Mon Dieu1 That was the silliest scene of the movie.
Sorry, but ' The Others '; now that was a great haunting story worthy of watching more than once.
Il pleuvait des oiseaux (2019)
One hour, no more
I had not been in a movie theater for a long, long time, watching the odd movie at home on my TV screen and choosing them from YouTube when possible. By doing so I can just stop whatever I am watching by a click and not waste my time but in a theater all one can do is get up and get out. Which I did after about one hour. That's all I could take of this rather boring film full of clichés and insipid dialogue.
Some of the scenes were so ridiculous that it became embarrassing watching them.
You don't have to believe me so just try and watch this needlessly long movie yourself.
Good luck.
A Quiet Place (2018)
The Nail!
OMG! The ' nail ' scene!? Right after that scene I was haunted by it. Just couldn't get over the ridiculous way that woman was to hurt her foot...without letting out a scream, naturally. Can someone tell me WHAT that nail, with the pointed side up, was doing in that plank in the first place? Surely, they could have found a more plausible way instead, such as some broken glass for instance. But a NAIL sticking out as if someone had nailed it from underneath the plank?
I suggest that a more proper title for this , heu...rather silly movie could have been, you guessed it: The Nail
I like the odd scary movie but although the acting was ok, many of the scenes were ridiculously idiotic.
The nail...I still cannot get over it. I may have to consult a shrink :-(
Room (2015)
Couldn't bear it
About halfway through this movie I gave up. Just couldn't take the boredom any longer. How can some people rave about such an idiotic flick?
Mind you, the basis was ok but the interpretation of the situation was absolutely debile! They were kept locked up in a friggin' shed with a window in the roof! All this lamenting woman had to do was to carefully remove that pane of glass during the absence of the ' villain ' and escape with the little brat. I could go on...
What Happened to Monday (2017)
Good grief!?
Sure glad I didn't pay to see this movie as I would have wasted my money. Silly, boring, insipid and badly written.
