Halloween II (2009)
7/10
Pretty good.
29 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this movie was a very good follow up to the remake. It was different than what I expected it to be. This is definitely a Rob Zombie movie.

What I liked: -The violence was intense and harsh -Dr. Loomis side story was humorous and entertaining thanks to MacDowells performance -The creative dream sequences -The bizarre appearances of the ghosts of Myer's mother & child self -The ending was very fitting -The film was very well paced and i was never bored while watching it -Great cinematography -Good music selection

What I did not like: -The recast young Michael was unfortunately not as good as the one from the remake. -Sheri Moon, i did not like the opening scene with her, she was fine as the ghost though. -Michael has the ability of teleportation -Scene at the Myers house was clearly not shot on the same set as the last movie, Haddonfield no longer has a suburban feel which is sort of weird.

The Grudge 2 (2006)
7/10
Good except for the horrible acting.
16 October 2006
I did enjoy the movie for the Ghost attack scenes as well as the story in general. I do think the movie had some very poor acting in it. Now the bad acting was obviously not present during the scare scenes but every time any of the characters spoke a line I cringed, especially in the first scene with the 3 school girls. I also found that Amber Tamblyn gave a bad performance. The only performance that didn't suck was Sarah Michelle Gellar. I think the bad performances can be attributed to the language barrier between the Japanese director and the English speaking cast. And here is what bothered me the most about the movie... How is it that a 70 year old Japanese exorcist who has lived in a very rural area of Japan her whole life and has gone quite crazy learn to speak perfect English?

Masters of Horror (2005–2007)
When its good its GREAT, When its bad its UNWATCHABLE
13 February 2006
I was only able to sit through about 5 episodes without turning the show off because of boredom or because they just plain sucked big time.

Cigarette Burns: This is the best episode of this season. It has a slow scary build and it pays of big time with some of the most disturbing and intense gore I have ever seen. I see almost every horror movie that comes out and rarely do they scare me. This one scared me more in 60 minutes than anything I have seen in they last few years.

Incident on And off a Mountain Road: This is a suspenseful and fast paced chase movie with some great gore scenes thrown in.

Fair Haired Child: I was initially turned off by this one cause the acting wasn't that great. I stuck it out though and thank god I did because the Johnny monster was one of the coolest looking monsters ever. From the point in which the girl gets locked into the basement until the end the episode kicks ass and is somewhat scary. Not gory at all though.

Jennifer: This is probably the goriest of the episodes. It also has a lot of bizarre sex scenes. The story was different and the acting was decent. Its not great but at least it held my interest.

Deer Woman: This episode was just plain fun to watch. It had lots of gore and crazy situations that were all played for laughs. It was entertaining although not in the least bit scary

Here are episodes to avoid cause they were either dumb or boring:

Dreams in the Witch House: Lame everything, especially that rat/man thing. Even the gore was poorly done. It probably would have been good with a higher budget.

Dance of the Dead: Poorly acted. The story sucked. The one scene that was good was when that chemical was sprayed over the birthday party.

Sick Girl: Well acted. Unfortunately also very boring and slow. The pay off sucks.

Pick Me Up: I don't know how they took the premise of dueling serial killers and messed it up this bad. Incredibly slow and boring. It also has some of the worst acting of the series. I had high hopes....oh well.

Haekel's Tale: This was also extremely disappointing because Clive Barker usually kicks ass. This episode did not. It was slow. The story seemed to go nowhere and when it got somewhere it turned very stupid very fast. Zombie sex isn't disturbing.....its cheesy.

I have yet to see Chocolate, Homecoming, and Imprint. I probably wont like chocolate. I have semi-high hopes for Homecoming and Imprint.
