Bloody Sunday (2002)
Amazing film showing a part of the oppression Irish roman catholics suffered
This is an amazing film showing the murder if civil rights activists. If you were Irish Roman Catholic in Northern Ireland you had very little rights and were refered to as a Nigger. This film needs to be seen.
Pig (2021)
IF youve ever loved
Its a meditation on love and loss. I found myself reflecting on the peeople ive lost in my life. I loved the subtext in the dialogie also. The song at the end really caught me.
Sasquatch (2021)
Stupid
Starts with a rumour of bigfoot causing deaths then ventures into Murder Mountain theme ie psycho dope farmers in the cali mountains. Everyone he talks to is blacked out with voise disguise and no name. Presented as fact but could just be fiction PS nothing really to do with Bigfoot exvept using his name as alibi. Avoid if youd rather not waste 3 hours of your life. Shame on you Joe Rogan for giving this the thumbs up.
The Pale Door (2020)
The clothes lack movie dirt
I was disappointed after seeing the trailer at the start of the month. A western horror with devil worshipping occult witches? My kinda film. However there is a serious lack of creativity here. The dialogue is clunky, the acting is wooden and the clean clothes bugged the life out of me. Im not looking for high art but the film makers clearly didnt care about an engaging story here. Avoid if you dont want to be bored and frustrated.
The Mandalorian (2019)
More Star Wars than Star Wars
Sorry about the title I meant the sequel trilogy. I just watched the pilot and its excellent. It lovingly has call backs to the original trilogy in the form of the stylistic choices and world building without forcing in hammy character cameos to provoke nostalgia. Good start and props to Disney for using competent creative story tellers and not virtue signaling activists trying force on the nose progressive political messages.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Skipped the cinema, enjoyed on Netflix!
Having had my heart broken by fat head and his abomination The Last Jedi, I decided to never watch anymore Star Wars films. Flicking through Netflix, Solo came up as a suggestion. I am happy to say I changed my mind. I found it to be an excellent adventure with great acting, plot and action. The characters are likable, the locations are great and it really feels like a genuine Star Wars film. Films nowadays suffer from a blandness that has you walking out of theatre stating "it was just alright", "so so" or "it was middle of the road" and then forgetting instantly what you just watched, this is not one of them films. Solo has heart. Big heart and I am happy to say I prejudged this wrongly. Give it a watch and you will be pleasantly surprised.
The Beastmaster (1982)
8 for Nostalgia
I had the Thorn EMI videotape copy of this back in the 80s and 90's . It was so worn out it snapped one day and my father had to connect the tape with some scotch tape. I have a huge fondness for this film due to these nostalgic reason. Ive you want well paced action fantasy film then Beastmaster is the film for you. The last act lets it down a wee bit as there is a double climax. Its never boring and moves at a very fast pace, I have yet to see action beats as well paced since A true product of the 80's and as such it can be quite cheesy.
