Unsolved (2018)
REALLY GOOD!
So I'm a middle aged, white lady who only knew about Tupac & Biggie from the news & the papers when they were murdered. No idea about their music/politics, etc. But I like True Crime Stuff, so when this show came up from nowhere in my Netflix feed, I gave it a chance. Really glad I did. I ended up binging it in two days.
Josh Duhamel did an outstanding job here. As did the Jimmy Simpson, who played the tragic earlier detective on the case. The writing was well done & the show really kept me interested, despite my not knowing much before this about the hip/hop world & the gang politics that may have led to the murders.
I took a star off as it jumps around alot, time wise. You really have to watch it to be sure exactly in what time period the episode is at.
But I really liked it & think if you like true crime stuff, you'll like it too. I'd love to see this show continue with some other murders being looked at.
Killing Fields (2016)
Real Life Law & Order
I just found this show On Demand & I love it. Being from New England sometimes the accent on the main characters is a bit difficult, but it's certainly authentic.
I love Rodie Sanchez, he's what you'd get if you called Central Casting & asked for a cynical Southern Cop. Only he's the real deal, a Southern version of Lenny from L&O. I like how open he is about being married 6 times & how tough being a cop is on your family. Nice that his wife "gets it" for the most part & let him come out of retirement for this case. Aubrey is the younger "cold case" cop who Rodie is working with. He's very likeable & hard working, as were the other women detectives in the office.
If you like crime shows, this is a good one.
