Nobody's Fool (2018)
Haddish came thru
In comparison to Night School, Haddish clearly performs better in control of the plot. The reliance of the other characters on the actress was a brilliant grab of interest and hope. The movie did not disappoint. A realistic portrayal of the exploration and simply search for independence highlights the world we all would like to have without the care that is essential to civilization. There were more than funny parts of the movie after the movie wakes up a quarter in.
Beautiful Boy (2018)
Very good movie
Mr. Bezos and Amazon unified well with the Trump Administration in investing in the effort to bring awareness by means of expressing the needs of American culture using American culture. Steve Carrell was a star and carried the entire movie from beginning to end. The movie is very practical and gives an accurate depiction of the struggle of understanding taking care of yourself and finding a balance in doing good for others and living a healthy and happy life. I think the film is perfect the way it is. But, in addition to the biological and psychological realities of the problem portrayed, I do venture to critique the film in a constructive way to bring about more social aspects of addiction. The film was very good.
Hunter Killer (2018)
Top Movie of the Year
I've seen over 80 movies in the theatre this year and I am confident this one is one of the best. Especially with others out now that really make you think you should love them, but you don't. Hunter Killer is action packed from the start and brings to in a totally practical way a scenario that generates your interest. Without any twist and turns, the movie makes it so real that nobody knew what they were doing. It was just a matter of making one choice at a time and hoping for the best. The film gave more meaning to being prepared and using your memory and skills to prove yourself with results. The attention to every scene is very demanding because you don't even think about anything else going on in life because you are so hooked on the movie just not ending because it's very good.
Colette (2018)
Very good
I thought the movie was good. It was very good. The music was great and the plot was awesome and the acting was even better. A little odd at the end, but then again even I got used to the insanity the characters experienced throughout the movie. It was good.
Halloween (2018)
Must See ASAP
Better than expected. I wouldn't be able to tell myself before I saw it how good the movie is going to be. A real classic horror movie. The entire movie was captivating. A couple of twists and turns made the movie really get on another level. The ending was perfect too. I am looking forward to, hopefully, the next one. If there is a next one. Hopefully.
The Old Man & the Gun (2018)
Excellent flow and delivery
The movie really came out on top during a couple of week span of disappointing blockbusters to me. The movie was really old school and had a great message all summed up at the end that obviously what the guy is doing is not the right thing. The acting was still great and just when the thought of "the movie should have ended" is about to come up, the movie gets better and takes a turn that really isn't a turn at all. I am a witness to perfection.
A Star Is Born (2018)
It was alright
I didn't really like it. An interesting premise and a good story. But, it was just another musician who does drugs. It's nothing special. The actress was good.
First Man (2018)
It's about an astronaut
It is what it is. The movie is about an astronaut. Nothing really to really get excited about. Even when they landed on the moon, it just starting happening. No idea where it came from. A real snoozer throughout most of the movie. The best part was the beginning. All downhill from there.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Pleasantly detaching
Just took a star off of perfect because of how long the movie was. Just a little yawn towards the end. But, the movie was still excellent. The story telling and scene sequence was incredible and unfolded with more interest than each one started. A lot of twists and turns and cool surprises. The ending was quite elegant, especially after the last few scenes.
Venom (2018)
Worth the wait
I first found out about the movie earlier in year and remember being disappointed I had to wait so long to see it. It was worth every day waiting. The movie was awesome. The acting was great. The plot was simple and entertaining. I really liked the psychological application I had in my thoughts during the movie and how the capability to try to survive in a free habitat was prioritized from scene comparisons.
Smallfoot (2018)
I SAW A SMALLFOOT TOO
Awesome awesome movie. A lot of fun, and funny too. I really liked the meaning the film communicates to the viewer of exploring interests and understanding the importance of protection and taking care of yourself to find the truth about what is in your best interest. A very powerful performance.
Blaze (2018)
Slow and relaxing
A slow kind of movie if you feel like you're going to have a slow kind of day. I've always liked Ethan Hawks and he did a great job directing the movie. I've never heard of Blaze Foley before I saw the movie and I don't plan to ever hear about him again, but we'll worth the choice to see the film.
Life Itself (2018)
Stupid
One thing I really learned was life itself and Jeff Bezos added together is the perfect algorithm to produce stupid. The Amazon team are officially cleared of having "perfectionism" as their biggest weakness. Every other scene I'm like "whaaat"
Unbroken: Path to Redemption (2018)
It was pretty good
But not for me. The film itself was good and had a lot of emotion packed moments. And there was a great message for people who are trying to find a way to make their lives better even if not consciously yet. But once again, not for me.
The Predator (2018)
Entertaining crew
The acting was decent, but I constantly felt interested in what is going on. Then again, it's not like this would happen in reality but if it did it would definitely go down like in the movie. I'm excited for the next one. The ending was perfect.
A Simple Favor (2018)
Woah
What a rollercoaster.
A true testament love conquers all.
White Boy Rick (2018)
It's not what it is not
The movie is very slow, but in a good way. "Oh good only this amount of time has passed even though it feels like I've been sitting here for more than two hours already. I'm glad the movie is not over yet." The acting was really good and the film brings to light doing the right thing is only doing the right thing when you are taking care of yourself. Turning the other cheek may be good for vices, but perhaps a good strategy for care because even love can be a handout if you are not taking responsibility for yourself especially basic needs. It is not what it is not. That's the best I can say I would describe my thoughts throughout the movie. There was no good in the movie and the outcome shows.
Operation Finale (2018)
This is reality
The continuous advertisement of desperately needing to feel based on the destruction of another human being is depicted in the Israeli efforts essential and clear. The absolving responsibility one after another in hopes of not getting caught doing the wrong thing and committing illegal acts in their own self interest celebrated in the same torture and death inflicted just as that of the captured makes the film not a role model in any sense of the word. The impulsive outrages one after another as well made the movie quite dull and predictable. There comes a time in everyone's life where you have to stop blaming others and take responsibility for your own actions. Hopefully, the ethics of the people in real life and focus will improve to the likes of the "father" they choose to prey to and steer away from allowing their death instincts from harming the lives of others. I believe then they will all find their peace.
Juliet, Naked (2018)
Realistically Refreshing
While very appropriate and modest, the film goes into the lives of a couple who are grown and have their own problems. It brings relief to the normal super and amazing perception brought to light about people in films and both characters are easy to relate to in terms of "that's something that happened to me or this could be something good to know if it was real and I bet it is." It goes into the dynamic of a healthy relationship of two people successful and taking care of themselves living together and the fears that come with this dynamic and the potential risks associated. I really liked the practicality and how the movie brings the celebrity vibe down to earth regarding just a general "screen" of people society puts on a pedestal.
The Little Stranger (2018)
Displacement and evolutionary
The viewer has a choice to look at the doctor's affairs in the house and the possible impact on the Home stayers as their own unknowing choice of heading into a displacement to defend themselves of the doctor's ability to take care to harm the dynamic they have formed living together. Or the doctor sees himself in the girl upon his first visit and coming from an evolutionary angle, he dominates the lives of the others of risk to her and is successful upon protecting her and providing care. The movie is very consistent with simple psychology concepts and past scenes become more enjoyable as the movie goes on until the end. Very well done to be honest.
The Wife (2017)
Fear of success
Of course Joe, the main character and noble prize recipient, comes off as a child and a silly, arrogant and selfish human being in general. But, Joan was guilty of using him as a puppet. Like a man can make a "trophy wife," Joan admitted she made a King. But, a king who couldn't make any decisions. Not because of Joan, but because he could not take care of himself. He couldn't do anything. I've heard many times "People who can't do teach" and Joe was a teacher who could not write. I am interested in putting forth the notion: Joan clearly used the pride of society as a good wife to satisfy her own needs to be recognized for her work. I don't think what she did was fair to Joe and most importantly, it was not fair to herself. She made her choices to use Joe to make her work famous and instead she covered this truth with taking pride in herself for making Joe famous. The truth is she used Joe as leverage and as soon as she got success that nobody could take away from her, she minimized the impact of Joe's work on her own writing he took credit for to be accepted for the prize. And he never turned on her. But she implies she will after he has passed on from this world. My notion, "it is in your best interest to take care of yourself" stays as a strong "buy" for anyone looking for a sense of direction in all social dynamics.
The Happytime Murders (2018)
It is what it is
The movie is exactly what it's supposed to be. Funny. I ate my popcorn and laughed. It didn't have to make sense even though it did other than obvious parts. Like the college movie, Melissa McCarthy was in earlier in the year, you will laugh and not be let down. A good movie.
A-X-L (2018)
Maybe a tv show?
Not a real movie. Could have been made into a cool story in four episode tv show. But, there was no cinema. I didn't see any action or surprise. There was no plot. Just kids horsing around and well, that's basically every scene in the movie.
South Pacific (1958)
Classic iconic film
Really clear how culture was influenced by the musical. A very powerful and surprisingly diversified character selection even for today's society. A+ if The the work was submitted in my class. 10 stars.
Mile 22 (2018)
Really good
It's Mark Whalberg. It's really good. Mind games, twists and turns. The only thing missing was some bluegrass when the cars were getting attacked and the film moving in slow motion. 10 stars for the flannel.
