A High Water Mark for Actual Play
2 February 2024
The All Night Society is a fantastic example of what this artform can be. From start to finish this team is committed to bringing new flavor and POVs to the Actual Play scene. From a sincere commitment to character and storytelling, to an impeccable sound design and overall ambienve, you've never experienced something quite like TANS. I've experienced this show multiple times, and each time I find something new to grab on to and I'm continuously inspired by how each character's story has its own life. You can truly connect with the story in a completely different way just by choosing which character to focus on this time. It's an incredible achievement and I can't wait for more.

Dramas and Web Series
21 June 2019
Comedy is the standard web series format. Short-form lends itself so much more to a quick laugh than a well built character arc inside a serious topic. However Manu is the exception here. Phenomenal writing within a story with a lot of heart wrapped up in short-form content. bravo.

Great work seen at a Festival
14 June 2019
I was fortunate enough to catch this series at a film festival and am I glad I did. As someone not overly exposed to non-english language filmmaking, I was utterly enthralled with this piece. It's evocative, well made, and acted/shot brilliantly to allow even I to be fully engrossed and have full comprehension. Well done.

Rare Web Series
12 June 2019
It's rare to see a web series that's produced this Gritty. Usually leaning on humor saves a digital series, but this show's quality is proved by how fantastic it is without that crutch. Highly recommend for fans of The Sopranos and other crime-based dramas.

Memes for Days!

What Neem's Themes does so brilliantly is create simple, relatable pieces of sketch comedy and then takes them to the nth degree. In each one of these episodes you can find a great snippet of pure cultural satire that is understandable and hits you in all the right places. Well done.

What Indie Work is all about!
10 June 2019
Look what happens when you take an absurd idea, commit to it, and get damn talented people to buy in? You end up with a one of a kind series like The Pantsless Detective. It's funny, it's strange, it's wholly unique, and you've never seen anything like it. Hat tip to the entire team

If you haven't seen this show yet, get on it. They do a wonderful job reimagining stories we know and love to have contemporary lessons. The stories are timeless, and this series shows why

A few flaws to an overall fantastic movie.
22 July 2008
I saw this movie on midnight of opening night. To prepare myself for this movie I watched Batman Begins at 9:00 PM and then when it was over it was basically time to get to the theater and watch The Dark Knight. As everyone has mentioned, Bale and Ledger's performances are out of this world, and the supporting cast of Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman make this one of the best acted summer blockbusters I've ever seen.

The flaws for me came from director's choices that I didn't agree with, and one of those choices was to change the feel of Gotham. Batman Begins had a very specific Gotham which really created a credibility and a home turf for Bale's Batman. There were the eerie side streets, there was the disgusting subway which led to Wayne Tower which was a towering monstrosity in the center of the city. There was the prison island, the smoke effects, and a lot of stylistic choices to keep the viewer somewhere between movie and comic book. Gone is that city, in fact Dark Knight feels like it could have been shot in NYC, Philadelphia, or Chicago, and they didn't try to disguise that they did that.

The other major choice that they made that I disagreed with was trying to take Dark Knight and just push the "dark comic book movie" genre a little farther. Batman Begins was a dark movie, as was Spiderman 1, 2, and 3, Sin City, and all of those comic book movies. The Dark Knight simply felt to me like they were trying to make this darker, and would find every way they could to do so. As Iron Man proved...sometimes there's nothing wrong with some laughs and lightheartedness at times. I think Batman Begins toed the line really well keeping it funny at enough times that it made the movie not so overwhelming and heavy. This movie did not do the same, and while the laughs definitely came...I can't say that this movie was as good as the last one, or contrary to some of the belief on here, is as good as the hype made it out to be.

6/10 for the fact that it's a great Batman movie, that unfortunately was unable to keep some of the spirit from Batman Begins alive that truly made Batman Begins the beginning of a franchise which had an original feel to it. My suggestions: Bring back the old Gotham...it made the movie feel much better as a whole.
