Great movie! Lots of fun
23 February 2012
Loved this movie. Wasn't sure about it when I went but I was sold on it when I left. You know the premise from the plot summary so I won't go into that. However, this movie has it all for men and women.

It isn't a traditional romantic comedy with just two characters falling in love.It is much more than that we have friends, spies, bad guys, adventure, action, romance, lots of humor - what isn't to like?

Pure movie magic -time just flew by and it is worth the price of admission. If you want movie like The Vow or Titantic this isn't it but in my opinion it is better!

I wasn't sure about the casting but again in my opinion it is spot on. Male casting roles were perfect and so was Reese. They had amazing chemistry online.

Excellent!

I think this movie is excellent. Lots of story lines that intertwine and you will see characters in relation to other characters. A fun movie that shows you what spending New Years Eve in NYC is like . Characters are all involved in story lines about New Years Eve in some way. Seriously a good movie to watch and fairly lighthearted except for one kind sad storyline but even that has a resolution. You could say why have that one in the movie but if you took it out I think one character would lack the connection they are trying to do with the intertwining story lines. A good combination of drama, comedy and humor.

I was sceptical about this movie because I didn't like Valentines Day as much as I thought I would but this one is awesome!! I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out on DVD.

Made of Honor (2008)

Great movie

I too was wondering how they would pull this off as it has been compared to Best Friends Wedding but in reverse. However, they did it and did it better. I saw a screening last night and it was incredibly well done. I loved it. It was refreshing to see a romantic comedy from a male perspective. Patrick Dempsey was able to handle any situation that came up on screen and make it believable from the humorous to the poignant. His female counterpart also held her own in her character as his friend and romantic interest. You were kept guessing how it would all end until it was wrapped up and with a most satisfactory ending.

Go see this film - I don't think you'll be disappointed. He makes a very good Made of Honor and a happy ending is guaranteed. The scenery in Scotland is gorgeous as well.

Great Movie can't wait for DVD!
19 February 2007
I loved this movie. It has it all - humor, music, good script, romance, great characters and casting and it is just a fun feel good movie.

You never know how movies will be until you see them. I walked out of the theatre and immediately wanted to walk back in. I can't say this about many movies. This movie is wickedly funny and I laughed myself silly at points. Highly recommended if you want a laugh - everyone in our theater loved it. I've seen it multiple times and it does not lose any magic at all. This movie is worth the money to see for those of any age who want to see a good movie.

Hugh Grant is an 80s pop star still living on his past glories until unexpected career opportunity to write a new pop song for a huge star leads him back to success and into love with his female costar. Drew and Hugh make a great on screen couple. What I love about the characters are that they are all human - no one is perfect. They all complex and interesting characters that I'd love to meet. Writing is incredibly funny and the cast makes it come to life. I must admit I was curious how Hugh would pull this off but he did a fabulous job with this character and pulls off every scene including the dancing and singing too! I bought the soundtrack as it will keep me going until the DVD comes out.

Granted a younger audience who isn't familiar with the 80's music may wonder a bit about that but the movie again will win anyone over. If you want to see a funny film this is the one to choose. But do stay after the movie is over as they put some more funny stuff up after they start rolling the credits.

Great Show
9 February 2007
This is a charming, funny and lovely show. A pleasure to watch anytime. I didn't know about this show until it came out on DVD and now I love it. I'll buy every season. The main characters Ann and Donald (her boyfriend) have such chemistry. The show is basically about Ann Marie (an actress starting out) and her life in New York with work, friends and family. Marlo Thomas and her writers ensured the same consistent thread of quality in every show so the show has continuity. I find most shows that have stars as producers or in some power capacity are higher quality as they care about the show and characters. Marlo produced this show via her Daisy Production company as we learn in the first season booklet. I was disappointed to hear that everyone on the show wanted the show to continue but she didn't so she shut down after a few seasons. I think this show is a classic TV show. Ted Bessell as her boyfriend is perfect and they make a great on screen couple. Casting for this show was excellent.

If you are looking for sex in the city or Seinfeld this isn't it. This is a charming TV show that makes me long for the 1960's when life was a bit more simple and pleasurable and less rushed. I'd highly recommend this if you are looking for something just fun to watch but keep in mind it is from the 60's.
