Reptile (2023)
Pretty Decent Flick.
This movie is a slow burn with a lot of the tropes you would expect from a crime thriller. It had a few plot holes but nothing that breaks the story. Del Toro's acting was on point as usual and Alicia Silverstone was pretty fantastic as well. The few faults of the film don't lie with the actors, just with the final script. It feels like they wanted to tell us more but the movie already exceeds the two hour mark. The atmosphere and cinematography are good and the soundtrack is unsettling, as it should be. It is just a long film. I think if the producers of this film were comfortable breaking the two hour mark, they should have just finished all the plot lines.
The Menu (2022)
Absolutely Bonkers and Fabulous
This movie is clearly not what I was expecting. "Rarely" do I see so much disturbingly gruesome imagery combined with the "cheesiest" of smiles at the end.
Anna Taylor-Joy once again proves that she is the new Queen of artsy Scream.
She "garnishes" Ralph Fiennes' main course to an absolute finish.
I can't remember a film being this delectible in some time. Grab a bottle on Pinot and settle in for this fantastic spectacle of taste and talent.
Any hate is merely the work of "critics" who endeavor to boister their own clout and standing.
The presentation and delivery of the final course will leave you wanting "S'more"
3 from Hell (2019)
3 is generous
What a piece of garbage. Should've ended it at the Devils Rejects. How many other films does Rob have to steal from. The 1st half of the movie was a knock off of Natural Born Killers. Rob is a total Hack anymore. And the 2nd half of the film in Mexico was just some knock off Robert Rodriguez stuff. Complete waste of time.. 💯. I don't know why studios keep giving this clown money. Oh yeah, because stupid people keep watching his regurgitation of old films. Dude doesn't have an orginal thoughtnin his brain outside of maybe 1 orn2 films and that is a complete stretch. It sucks because the 1st weren't bad sans the fact they ripped off Chainsaw.
Prey (2022)
Watch it in Comanche. Absolutely fantastic and may be better than the OG
This movie is hands down the best Predator movie since the OG and may possibly be better depending on how you gauge your films. Watch it in Comanche 💯
Ozark (2017)
Geeat show till the end.. don't bother. Lazy writing and Directing for the Finale
Chris Mund and Jason Bateman are hacks and phoned in the last episode. If they were pissed at Netflix they could've just said so in an interview. Instead they took it out on the fans. The other actors on the show deserved better and so did the supporters of this show.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Lazy Writing and weak direction. A true Eff you to the fans.
Chris Mundy wrote this episode. Jason Bateman directed. Remember that before you get invested in anything these two are attached to. The only reason I gave it more than a 1 was in respect for the actors. Screw this show. Don't waste your time or don't bother watching the ending.
Blaze (2018)
If you don't get it this film is not for you.
This movie is the pure essence of the legend who was Blaze Foley. If you don't get that and aren't a fan of the early days of anti Nashville singer songwriter stuff like Townes and John Prine; I don't know what to tell you. This film is fantastic and inspiring.
1883 (2021)
Ain't lookin' for trouble, we can ride my pony double.
The show is fantastic. The acting is on point, the story is super cohesive, and it is shot beautifully. My only want is to catch the behind the scenes stuff where the Native Americans incensintly troll Tim McGraw for his extremely dated song from the 90s. I think they should make him dance around in buffalo briefs.
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Guillermo took the long road to an obvious conclusion
The ending is clear very early to anyone paying attention. I guess the good part of this film is the gooey delicious center filling because the beginning and end are stale hard cookies without a lot of flavor.
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Someone didn't do their research.
The only reason I didn't give this amazing show a 10 is the oversight of the fact that Michigan does not have the death penalty. Other than that this shownis a banger.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Fan service with heart.
Absolutely the sequel we all wanted and needed. It's very well done. A near prefect sequel. Wide shot cinematic gold. Go see this in the theater. If you are a fan of the franchise you will love this.
Blue Velvet (1986)
A David Lynch Film
Nonsensical, Pretentious, and Brilliantly Acted. If you want to watch a film by this director that actually makes sense, you need only watch hos least favorite film. Dune. Want to shroom up and go for a ride, watch the rest of his work.
Saw (2004)
The ending..
Kind of like Seven, not quite as good. Effects are good, acting is top sans Cary Elwes. He is pouring it on a bit and the least believable character in the story. Still a good story.
The Lodge (2019)
Had the feel of an Ari Aster film, if you have issues with suicide, maybe skip thos one.
Shot amazing, a few plot holes in the story but nothing too bad, great acting. Don't listen to the hate.
Malignant (2021)
Drop Dead Fred meets slasher.
Most creative horror film I have seen in a while James Wan is hella original..
It Chapter Two (2019)
Decent wrap up but way weaker than Chapter 1.
The kids of Chapter 1 were way more convincing than this stacked lineup of actors who seemed to phone it in at times. Still a decent wrap up. Not sure it needed to be just shy of 3 hours though.
It (2017)
It was good. No need for the R rating.
IT was good. Probably better than the original mini series but honestly don't let the R Rating scare you. "Scary Stories to tell toothe Dark " was scarier and more gory. This flick is a PG-13 movie with a few too many F bombs. Still a fun watch.
Tenet (2020)
Well thought out and original
The movie has some holes but for the most part is very entertaining and thought provoking. Pay attention. This is not a casual watch if you want to enjoy it.
