Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Extremely poor performance of the same team after a super Mission Impossible 6
After having set a bar to a certain height, the same team that was behind a super action movie MI-6 could not carry on a standard set by themselves. Stupid perfection in the stunts that are as ridiculous as of Fast & Furious movies. This film is a sheer disappointment. I have been very generous in awarding it 2/10. This movie is as disappointing as the last Bond movie. Tom Cruise should have considered something better after giving two great movies previous to this one: Top Gun and Mission Impossible 6. And they banked poorly on the most used term of 2023: AI. And lost poorly. The plot is weak, so is the direction.
The Last of Us (2023)
Far from the true videogame story
For those who have played the original Naughty Dog videogame would know that the story is going farther and farther away from the original story after the second episode. For many, the third episode turned out to be the final nail in the coffin. The third episode was lewd, uncalled-for and completely out of line. The locales are incorrect too. For instance, 10 miles West of Boston and the backdrop is that of the Rocky Mountains (filmed in Alberta!). And the buildings do have junk on the floors but the walls show fresh concrete after at least twenty years of in no use with ripped ceilings and water inflow and so on.
The Last of Us has turned quite unimposing since the third episode.
Earth Moods (2021)
Waste of time
I acquired this set hoping for it to be educational. I made a mistake of not reading about it since I took it as a documentary.
These must be the edited-out parts of other documentaries sponsored by Disney. However, without narration, or captions, or any sort of information, it's just boring and a waste of time. Could be played at a noisy place without sound, like in a waiting area, or at a TV shop for TVs on display, but certainly no learning from it whatsoever.
It wouldn't still cost Disney much to add a narration to it and make it useful and educational for libraries and schools, for example.
Deep in the Heart: A Texas Wildlife Story (2022)
Beautifully filmed and edited
A remarkable film with great photography and narrative offering deep insight into the less-known Texan wildlife.
The producers should take the opportunity to make one such film about all the fifty states.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
G A R B A G E
I'll be as pithy as offended I am.
They not only produced a terrible movie, they tried their best to vilify the original classic.
It makes you think what has happened to a normal person's approach. It also makes you think what happened to the classic storytelling and storytellers.
I just wasted two-and-a-half hours of my life watching this farce. It was like watching porn: poor acting, fake emotions, cheap cast, terrible screenplay, lousy action, meaningless outcome.
Welcome to Earth (2021)
A positive change for NG documentary style
National Geographic documentaries have never been gripping mainly because of their storytelling that's so lackluster. Nothing beats BBC in storytelling, poetic narrative and superb music.
But WELCOME TO EARTH changed some of that. Beautiful visuals and sounds accompanied with a score by Daniel Pemberton, this series could hit all the positive checkpoints had it not been for a poor script and street language by Will Smith, not to mention his callow reactions and stupid remarks throughout. The last nail was driven by the black and white studio recordings that blew a viewer's retina just when their eyes were getting focused for the suspenseful darkness of the series.
Will Smith simply destroyed the entire drama that the directors and the producers had to work so much hard to create.
I could have very easily given this series a 9/10 but the above-mentioned negatives things have made me give it 4/10, that too out of sheer generosity.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Venom: Let there be Garbage!
This movie is a farce. It should have been called: Venom - Let there be Garbage.
Pathetic storyline. Excruciating attempt at poor humour. Terrible plot. Horrible acting.
Just everything about this movie is garbage. This movie is the last nail in Thomas Hardy's acting career.
I watched it for 41 minutes and I am still wondering how patient I have been to go that far!
Don't waste your two hours on this pathetic film. It's films like these that make you believe there are no more good directors or actors left in the world, not to mention screenwriters.
Benedetta (2021)
Absolute beauty!
This film is an absolute beauty - the detail, the lighting, the sets, the costumes... Paul Verhoeven at his absolute best. A great movie. Despite being a drama, it has the vibes of a thriller.
No Man of God (2021)
An OK movie with a million mistakes
It's an OK movie with a lot of directorial and research mistakes that could have been avoided easily. For example, a prisoner on death row is shown always wearing a wedding ring, a chain in the neck and a belt!
That's where I became overly generous and gave this movie a 2-star rating and closing it down for good.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Brilliant work, but the last episode destroyed all build up
An amazing work of art, direction, script, production and screenplay. Completely engaging until the very last episode. However, the director and his aides made a terrible decision by ending it how it ends. The entire build up to the very last episode comes down crashing for me towards the end of it.
It made me change my rating from 8/10 to 6/10.
Most Dangerous Game (2020)
Garbage!
Extremely unrealistic, poorly directed and poorly scripted film. The only good thing about this movie is Christoph Waltz's acting. The best of the movie is share garbage and a waste of time.
Infinite (2021)
Sheer waste of time
This is so far the worst movie of 2021. A sheer waste of time. Poor direction. Unreal and full of flaws action. Poor script. Terrible screenplay and horrible acting. Perhaps the biggest mistake of Mark Wahlberg's life.
The Little Things (2021)
A waste of time
A poorly directed movie with a below average screenplay and incohesive events. The movie was a drag, inconclusive and simply doesn't hit the right buttons. I don't recommend anyone wasting two hours on this movie.
Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020)
Too long and boring
This is a good drama based on true events but it's painfully long. It could have easily been concluded in five episodes at best. It starts losing depth from the fifth episode onwards.
One of the goofs of the serial in the final episode is a Windows 7 logo on the desktop screen when the year it is showing is 1994. Windows 95 was launched in 1995!

Sherdil (2019)
A terrible depiction of air force with childish screenplay
It is unbelievable to start with how ISPR approved the script of this movie. Poorly directed with terrible acting, it doesn't show at all the truth about a cadet's life at the academy and later as an officer. Cheap acting and screenplay with poor storyline makes this movie a joke and a cringing experience.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
Movie of a time when American public was sane
"The Trial of the Chicago 7"... beautiful movie.
It shows how the American nation had been against wars since the Vietnam war and how the U.S. government kept going against the wishes of its people onto an episode after an episode of mayhem and carnage. It also shows how corrupt the justice system can be of a super power of a country. And it also shows how power rots from within if not exercised wisely.
Beautiful movie.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Such a disappointment!
Such a disappointment!
Stallone should have retired Rambo gracefully after Rambo III; and Rocky after Rocky V, but instead, he dragged the charachters and killed their grace, respectively.
Poor storyline. Less than ordinary screenplay. Terrible execution of the project. It's such a disappointment for a die-hard Stallone fan like me.
I will only keep till Rambo III in my archive as that is how I always want the character to be remembered.
A sad disappointment Last Blood is. Very sad.
Stree (2018)
It's a beauty!
I don't remember why I got this movie a while back and it had been sitting in my library all this time. A few days ago I decided to "spring clean" the library and thought to watch this movie which I thought was an English movie. It gripped me right from the beginning and Rajkumar's and others' natural acting style made it a winner in my eyes. I have decided to keep this movie in my archive. It's a beautiful movie set in a beautiful locale. I appreciate the director for shooting it in a small town and bringing the beauty of that small town to the world. Great movie and great execution of scenes, dialogue and music. Definitely a winner.
Thugs of Hindostan (2018)
Assassin's Creed - Thugs of Hindostan
I just watched Thugs of Hindostan, an Aamir Khan movie I had wanted to watch for a long time. Turned out I was watching "Assassin's Creed Black Flag"!
A 110% iteration of Assassin's Creed and in a very good way. Amazing direction and detail, inspired by true historical events. From the prelude to before "Ubisoft Presents" till two hours into the movie with an eagle soaring before the 'assassins' (Thugs) get into place, I have loved it. Beautifully executed and put together with a very strong script. And nothing gets me more than a good script and storyline.
Ubisoft should learn from it as they have made their jobs easier.
I don't watch Indian movies because of their immaturity but then I watched this movie and I decide that India has upped their game. It's a copy of Assassin's Creed and a very good one at that.
I am going to own this movie now.
