Scream (2022)
Another reboot, another iconic franchise
I'm kinda missed the times when I'm ironically tried to figure out who was the killer. The original "Scream" was the deconstruction of the genre, it wasn't very serious, full of cliches and easter eggs for the slasher fans. It was fun and entertaining. This film is much less fun, but still entertaining. Sort of. I didn't expected to see a thriller or horror movie, I just get what I expected to: a few Easter eggs, jokes and comments about the other remakes. There is a right formula, old cast and it's just ok. I do not believe that any remake of any franchise nowadays may be better than the original films. It's just a fan service and nostalgia selling. It's understandable.
But i didn't like a lot of things in this film. This film doesn't need the drama, even as a fan-service. There are a lot of stupid decisions in writing and many things that are just boring. But it's not a serious problem when you know what to expect.
True Detective: Night Country: Part 2 (2024)
Worse than 1/10
It's getting even more worse. I don't know what the hell I just watched. Really really bad writing, really bad acting. Everything is just so bad. Even Jodie Foster is don't give a damn anymore and she just stopped trying to act. Dialogs are hilariously bad. Hilariously.
This story is not going anywhere. They gave a ten or fifteen minutes to investigation in a two hour-episodes, like it's not detective story and they are don't care about the crime story. Why we are here then? This series more focused on some "target themes". In first season we could see how things happens and AFFECTS people.
Btw, many folks here have said how dumb and primitive are men in this season already, but still: to me Chainsaw/selfie moment showing just who IS "creating" and writing this stuff. Chainsaw. Crime scene. Really?
True Detective: Night Country: Part 1 (2024)
Just bad.
It's not about the story. It's about two " strong woman" characters (one of them is really annoying and stupid), their boring relatives and some racial problems. I think this is the first season in the show when we actually may see the "supernatural stuff" and it is not good. Foster is ok maybe, but it's not enough to save the show... The idea of missing scientists is not so bad, but realization IS and it's to predictable how it all going to end. I m sure a lot of people will get it and a first half of a first episode. It's just bad. And this is the first when Im feeling insulted just because of tons of stupid and uncreative stuff that this show threw at me.
I corpi presentano tracce di violenza carnale (1973)
6/10
Fine picture, some fine women with pretty faces, legs and boobies. Fine sound and good music. Sympathetic. Nothing special about the killer, the mystery and plot. And every man in this film wants some fine pretty meat
6/10.
Apostle (2018)
2 hours of tasteless chewing gum from Netflix
Sadly, this film is just another example of pointless conveyor of pagan and cult aesthetics exploitation without any attempts to make something creative and distinctive (like in case of "The VVitch" or "Haggazusa" for example). In this case, there is a typical formula for mass oriented Netflix product: good picture with deep colors and bunch of methods that we already saw anywhere else in nowadays, the emancipated keynote of female-characters and conflicts (men/nature for ex) and variety of populism issues. The conflict between antagonists is such a lame and each of them is faceless, they are not even weird nor creepy; the core of protagonist is stock and the cult is nothing of interest. It's not horror and it is even not thrills. 2 hours of tasteless chewing gum without any interesting ideas or creativity for masses to feed
