Genesis (2018)
Why bother?
It seemed like they wanted to make a movie that asked big ethical questions about humanity and AI. Unfortunately, it also seemed like no one involved in the writing process had even a rudimentary grasp of ethics. At no point could any character be bothered to even attempt to distinguish between murder and self-defense or act like the distinction might change the appropriate ethical response. Other than that it was generally just a mess of mediocrity.
The Outpost (2018)
It's bad but somehow still vaguely entertaining
I don't know why anyone would give this anything above a five, I get that some people feel the low ratings are somehow unfair but c'mon. I'm eight episodes into the show and it's still pretty bad. I don't require all of my entertainment to be top notch, so that's not unforgivable, but no part of this show is above average.
The costuming is bad, the FX remind me of the mid 90's, the acting is wooden, and the script is just terrible but for some reason I keep watching. That's not to say I'd recommend it but something about it is somehow interesting even if it's just because of a vague desire see how exactly this train wreck plays out.
