Made in Abyss: Gold (2022)
A complete mess
This has to be one of the most convoluted seasons of any series that tries way to hard at being smat and intellectual, yet only makes plot holes and empty "conclussions".
The finale answers np questions, people change their mind 10 times in 10 minutes and the finall "smart quote" sounds like a 1st year philosophy student trying to write a poem about how deep they are.
The stagnation of quality compared to the first season is crazy. This is all an entire filler season which gives nothing for the entire story.
The main characters are either dumb or mentally insane, thing just change for the hell of it. Dragon ball z had deeper messages than this season.
Midsommar (2019)
Good basic idea, spolid by the directors vision
The movies subjects, themes and story is constantly swaped without any real direction and clear vision.
And the movie is at least an hour to long.
It does have some nice scenes and visually it has its moments, but these are rare apart.
The entire film seems to bath in its own creation.
The characters are u dull, 1 dimensional, the point is lost on the director it self it seems.
Also, all the characters seem to have lost any common sense and inteligencije, the most basic horror cliché os strong in a movie that seems intend on being "different". The entife impression is that of a 1. Year film school student project.
Quite pretencious and not worth the watch.
The House (2022)
Something different, refreshing and creepy.
A nice showcase hos stop animation can be used to create a sense of fear, uneasiness and tell a smart story. Each story was worth a discussion and was quite enjoyable.
We want more of this Netflix!
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Who is this for?
The animation and colours are great, other then that, what even is this?
He man is in 1/5 of the show, the story it self is bad, writting is amateur. It just gets boring.
It strings the nostalga chords, but has nothing that made the old shows interesting. The new story is boring for adults and kids alike, since its just so childish.
Trully a disappointment.
Kidô senshi Gandamu: Senkô no Hasauei (2021)
Very shallow
Sadly, its just boring. The characters are solid, but the premise, their actions and the entire story are just very basic attempts of discussing major themes. Also, the mecha battles are short and uninteresting, story goes to quickly and stuff just happens.
And yea, the the entire movue is bright except the fight scenes which end up looking messy. Had trouble following which mecha is which.
Only for die hard fans.
The Invitation (2015)
An ok idea, terribly executed
You basicly watch 90% of the movie which is nothing but akward stares and situations to get a good 10% of conclusions.
The screenplay is like it was written by horny teenagers, its predictable as heck and everyone acts like idiots. Also, the directing is just boring. You get lots of dumb stares and people acting like kids.
Klaus (2019)
An amazing surprise
Me and my partner watches this movie and it amazed us on every level.
The art is stunning with top notch animation. The humour is surprisingly good and even dark.
And the story is so warm that we cried at the end.
An instant Christmas classic.
Venom (2018)
A daring new movie
Did not expect anything from the movie and was very pleasently surprised.
A movie that (thank god) goes out of the Marvel formula and makes something new. The action is fun, Hardly is amazing, Venom is a very fun character and their relations is entertaining and you trully want to see how it will grow.
Critics are more and more becoming an enigma for the audience. To slam this movie with such low scores, and yet praise the likes of Ant Man is beyond bafling. Be your own critic, if you want a fun movie, check it out. At least you will see something new and bold.
Also, we need the sequal. The premise for it is perfect and I cant't wait to see it.
Batman Ninja (2018)
An absolute fantastic film for its genre
Batman Ninja represents the pinnacle of what a movie can be when you have a visionary director who is well founded and unhinged.
This is a Japanese animated action movie through and through. And its one of the best Japan has created in a long time, and one of the best the Batman cast has stared in.
To be clear, this is not a classic Batman story, filled with psychological backgrounds and a dark setting.
This movie represents an aspiring presentation of what else Batman can be. The film is unrelenting, from start to end. A firework of amazing design, colours, music and characters. Even the story (which I will not spoil) represents something new for Batman, a breath of fresh air. Just to be clear, the story is not in line with Nolans work or the classic comics, but it is a great story.
The roots of batman are here, only instead of a sad willow, the tree is now a sakura in blossom.
Go in with an open mind and be delighted with the new horizons. DC has just created one of their best movies ever.
