Kimetsu no Yaiba Kizuna no Kiseki, Soshite Hashira Geiko e (2024)
Idk why people are feeling scammed
I get it the movie does take awhile and I do mean awhile for the recap to finish... I didn't need a season 1,2,3,4 introduction followed by the last 30min of swordsmith village ... that was probably the hardest part to wait because as always we want new content!!! But in return it was amazing if you read the manga this had to be done in order to fill in gap between the training and the final conflict in the mansion .... So I don't understand why people feel scammed it even was reported early on that the movie was gonna be a a recap as well as a feature so the last season will focus mainly on the main plot ... which was a great move ....
That '90s Show (2023)
This felt like a Disney channel reboot
I was looking forward to this because obviously like everyone else the original series was a amazing. But watching this I felt like I was watching fuller house with edgy kids from 2008. Being a teenager in the 90s i don't remember kids being this bubbly and light hearted , I just remember always being mad and rebellious. This was hard to take in , yeah a couple of 90s references but everything seemed forced. I agree with everyone if it wasn't the old cast I would have little no interest to this show , kitty and red make the show enjoyable because the kids are pretty bland. Granted it's the first season I was hoping these new characters would capture the magic of the original series.
1-800-Hot-Nite (2022)
90s nostalgia
I didn't expect this movie to be that good , honestly I didn't understand the low ratings but as a kid this was a great coming of age , the script wasn't a problem , I felt this was a kid having learning about the real world in a hard way .. at first I thought it was going to be a comedy ( like super bad American pie etc etc ) but no it was more of David Clark's ( kids) not as vulgar but that same type of feel ... as a kid you think you have the answers and think life hits one way but in reality it doesn't ... live is hard , in one night one little boy learns almost every life lesson you can learn in a life time , friends , love, people , adults and cold reality. I really enjoyed this movie in my opinion it's something new compared to what's been coming out lately.
Halloween Ends (2022)
What happened
Ok Halloween 2018 was a near perfect ( reboot/ sequel) it stayed true to the original feel and look. Then Halloween kills comes out and it was a huge let down. It left me disappointed so Halloween ends I was being optimistic even though I wasn't looking forward to this one ...I still gave it a chance ..... wow what were they thinking when they made this ? First off you don't see the shape till 50min into this boring plot of a twisted love story that makes no sense , you have a new town weirdo that somehow controls the shape after looking into his eyes . All this build up just for the guy to get beat up by Laurie ( even though he brutally murders people in a Michael Myers fashion ) and then stab himself ..... at one point I was relieved but on the other hand I wasted almost hour and a half waiting for Michael ( and finally ) the showdown ... wow I could've watched the previews to see the whole fight ..... and after all that time the shape was easily defeated ... and it was pretty pointless movie . This year has been a series of sequel let downs especially horror movies
Terrifer 2 is a perfect example as well as this one .... I rather watch hocus pocus 2 then this again...
Terrifier 2 (2022)
How is this innovative? How is this ranked so high?
I usually don't write reviews but.... Hallows eve amazing terrifier even better ... but part2 ... I literally walked out the theater it was long boring and so many plot holes and unanswered questions to the back story ...it's starts off we're one ended and then to the laundry mat scene which was a good scene ( up til the mini art clown ) ok something new .. at first she's introduced imaginary... then we introduced to 2 new kids ... and a single mom no dad ... then we later find out the main character has mental health issues ... but is pretty vague and we all sudden she gets these premonitions because of long a boring dream sequence.... Then there's the fathers of the main character sketch book ( which is mentioned vaguely) and he's has visions doesn't give the audience any type of strong story ... Art was more of a Freddy Kruger type character meaning art was more of a comic relief at times... kills were good over the top just like any slasher film ... but the backstories of the main characters and the tie in with art was never really explain .... And after all these subplots we get the imaginary mini art who everyone else can see later in the movie and can also change her voice ... that whole character alone was a waste of film ...arts back story I'm waiting in the tie end but nope nothing ...then the final act... the fight at the carnival where mini art was murdered and the main character goes to fight art she dies goes into the dream sequence she had in the beginning of the film but is stuck in a water tank dies ..... and suddenly is awaken by a powerful sword ( which isn't explained) this movie was all of the place.
At Stake: Vampire Solutions (2012)
Hidden gem
I love found footage films so I'm constantly tryin to find these hidden gems .... This one caught my attention and I loved it .... The story the characters ( somewhat cheesy but in a good way ) it was a movie I'll prob watch over and over again on late nights.... Sad that the second one was a huge disappointment.
AS:VS Back in Business (2015)
Disappointing
I had high hopes for this one because the first one was so good .... This one lost the magic .... Evans character were over the top the characters were over the top and cartoonish .... Didn't feel like a found footage movie... this one had so much potential but execution just didnt hit like the first one.
The Eyes of My Mother (2016)
If it was made in 90s I would've liked it
I wouldn't say a masterpiece..... if you're the type of person to hate anything that appeals to the masses, that hates everything commercial or fresh out of art school ( this movie is for you) yes I use to love movies like this when I was in art school, but now nah I'm good ... cinematography wasn't that impressive, it reminded me of a old David lynch movie ...( eraser head ) .... It was weird m, disturbing ( which it worked) but boring and I found myself looking on my phone looking for a cheesy horror movie instead of a artsy film I would've seen in mid 90s.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Give the first half a chance ...
If you were a fan in the 80s you might be quick to dislike it the show keep a open mind of how cartoon animation story telling is done NOW.... Yes there have been many reimagined He-man cartoons but everything has been done!! This literally gives it a new light and chose back to the comic ( came woth the toys ) before the cartoon change the original story ( the twin swords) . If you watch anime everything is about build up!!! (Which American show are using now ) And it also touches the old cliche one liners in the 80s and the flat storylines of the past .... Yes the early 2000 series was amazing but it's been done ... move on !! I think Kevin smith does a great nod to the old series and gives it depth that I Haven't seen in a looooonnng time ...if your my age 40 don't be so quick to dislike it .... But if you have kids watch shows like adventure time, Steven universe and infinity train this is that type of format which is the building blocks for a great re imagined story that ties in the old with the new.
