Another Classic Ruined by Executives who Know Nothing of its Audience
10 March 2023
This show isn't intrinsically bad. The idea is great and the execution was excellent, until Miyam Bialik was made host. She constantly makes mistakes, like cutting people off when they're correcting themselves, or not accepting a valid answer. Before she was host, these types of things would only happen once in a blue moon. Now they happen almost every single episode. It hasn't gotten better since she was first host a couple of years ago either. Fan outcry hasn't slowed anything down or changed anything, as viewership and ratings always tank when she's on screen, but the producers and directors do not care one bit. If you can stomach the mistakes and Miyam's pretentious and condescending demeanor, then go ahead and watch it.

Good, but Frustrating and not Replayable
2 March 2023
This game doesn't hold back any punches when it comes to interrogation and questioning, and apart from Intuition Points it doesn't usually hold your hand. However, the game's replayability is *murdered* (pun intended) as you can't skip dialogue or cutscenes at all. *Plus* if you are a perfectionist and want to get questionings and interrogations 100% correct first try, you're SOL, as quitting to the main menu and coming back will 99% of the time send you back to the beginning of the area. This means that you'll have to find every clue in the area *again* and attempt the questioning *again.* If you aren't good at judging if someone is lying or not, then I'd avoid this game. The closest thing to any sort of accessibility option is the aforementioned Intuition Points, which are very limited and are only earned by ranking up, which is done by doing successful questionings or interrogations.

The Best Video Game Adaptation
23 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I played the original game years ago and even though I know where the story leads and how it all ends, with this show I don't know how it gets there. With this show, it's about the journey, not the destination. The biggest example of this is in Episode 3: Long Long Time. In the original game, Frank leaves Bill because he became too complacent and set in his own ways, refusing to give him anything, any sacrifices. Bill is even alive when Joel and Ellie meet up with him in the game. In the show however, we get this beautiful love story between Bill and Frank, and it ends with them both dying together. This one change leads to a completely different story, not only in this episode, but in the ones afterward. Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann both did an amazing job with the show, both in the things they change and the things they keep the same.

The Most Incredible Show to Ever Exist
7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Community is what you get when you combine the talents of the co-creator of Rick and Morty and the directors of Avengers: Endgame. From beginning to end, you don't know what the show is going to throw at you. Whether it's a parody of older films or a myriad of paintball battle royales, this show has so much to offer. It's insane the different cameos and references throughout the series, with actors like Nathan Fillion and Seth Green making appearances. The main cast is stellar too, with Donald Glover being a big part for the first few seasons, and Keith David being a permanent mainstay in the final season. Overall, the show is absolutely spectacular, and is a joy to watch from beginning to end.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (2017 Video Game)

An Experience Like no Other
28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This game isn't really a game. Yes, it has puzzles and collectibles but what it really is a deep dive into the mind of someone experiencing psychosis. The puzzles are really just false connections Senua conjures, the whole idea that the 'rot' will kill her if it reaches her head is a manifestation of her anxiety. Nearly every experience she has is the result of her psychosis. As the player you are always questioning what is and isn't real, which shows how well they captured the illness, because someone who experiences it believes every delusion and hallucination that comes with it. Ninja Theory did a perfect job making the player see what Senua is seeing and hearing.

A Near-Perfect Star Wars Adventure
14 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga is an absolutely amazing experience, with many planets to explore and plenty of collectibles to find, this game will keep you busy for a long time. The amount of references, and Easter eggs is absolutely astounding, and the sense of humor never ceases to make me laugh. The actual story levels, however, leave something to be desired at times. There are times where instead of giving the player the ability to play through and experience a section that would've been playable in the original, or would've been interesting to play through now, it's just glossed over in a cutscene. Like the actual rescue of Palpatine after defeating Count Dooku. I understand that these games are aimed towards a younger audience, and that the open world is at the forefront of the experience, but these aspects have been done better in previous games from TT games, even in 2016's The Force Awakens Lego game. Overall, the game does a good job at making its innovations, but can fall short a bit in doing what the Lego games have done before with its story levels.

How I Met Your Father (2022–2023)
2/10
Cringy, and not in a good way.
8 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
How I Met Your Father is what happens when you try to turn something old into new, and try to pander to the modern 'woke' demographic. It's cringy, nonsensical, and doesn't have the charm of the original series it claims to be inspired by. Instead of creating a unique character similar to Ted Mosby (or, better yet, Tracy McConnal,) they created a main character that lends itself far into the stereotypes of women in dating. She says she's looking for 'the one' yet expects them to make the first move. What we should've gotten was a character that, despite being a woman, wanted to make the first move and truly *search for* the one. You get everything from the first season of HIMYM crunched into one, 20-minute episode, and it all feels disjointed and rushed. If the characters didn't live in the same apartment that many characters from HIMYM did, I'd say that it has nothing to do with the original series. Overall, this series does not expand on the original ideas of HIMYM in the modern world, and instead panders just like every other modern 'woke' series and movie.

The Perfect Spider-Man Movie, and the Perfect Marvel Movie
9 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No Way Home is a movie that doesn't hold anything back. The introduction of the other villains, the other Spider-Men, and the multiverse as a whole is done very well in this nostalgic spectacle of a movie.

The interactions between the three Spider-Men always feel natural, and are done in a way that pleases both newcomers, and long-time fans of Spider-Man in cinema. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield aren't under-utilized, nor do they overstay their welcome or outshine Tom Holland's character. They both have their shining moments with their villains and amongst themselves.

The various in-jokes and references in the film have a unique role in the movie, showing Tobey and Andrew's character development after their respective films. Because of the various 'memes' that have been made over the last decade or so, most people won't be left scratching their heads.

Aunt May's death wasn't expected, and at the same time very natural, as it wasn't so out of left field that it feels tacked on. It brings the story full circle, giving him the loss to grow, giving him the lesson that all Spider-Men learn sooner-or-later, and giving us the famous line that every Spider-Man and every Marvel fan knows by heart at this point.

Not Perfect but Absolutely Amazing
4 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie won't change your life like the original Matrix, nor will it leave you scratching your head like Revolutions. It will, however, leave you wanting more like Reloaded.

All of the ideas are done really well, with some events that I didn't expect like the machines working with the humans being a great surprise. The nostalgia doesn't overstay its welcome nor does it feel cheesy or cringy.

Neil Patrick Harris' role as 'The Analyst' (and, by extension, the new Architect) was done perfectly. His personality gives unique weight and depth to the character, and surprised me with his humor mixed with the Architect's familiar cynicism.

The movie isn't perfect by any means, as the pacing can fumble at times, sometimes feeling a little rushed. Aside from that issue, it is a wonderful film featuring commentary on the state of Hollywood, and its 'resurrecting' of long-gone franchises, as well as a new, fresh look at The Matrix and its possible future.

A Perfect Sequel to a Cult Classic
13 September 2021
Psychonauts 2 shows us that it doesn't matter how long a game has been cooking, as long as it has great cooks behind it, and boy does it have just that. Tim Schafer and his team really outdid themselves, making a sequel to a sixteen-year-old game that not only matches the quality of it, but outshines it.

Twin Suns acts as a perfect send off to Maul and a satisfying path to closure for Maul and Obi-Wan, ending their years-long feud. This is one of Rebels' finest, and shows Filoni's amazing storytelling and Sam Witwer's astounding acting.

The Best of Bo Burnham
7 August 2021
Bo Burnham has created something absolutely extraordinary with Inside. He perfectly captures how horrible the world and the internet is. What's unique about this compared to everything else he has made is that I rarely ever laughed. This isn't something you're supposed to laugh at, this is very thought-provoking, somber, and grim. A few days later and I still have the songs stuck in my head, and I'm pretty sure everyone else who has seen this masterpiece can say the same. This special that was made completely by Bo, filming writing and all, is a testament to what one man can do.

Underrated Masterpiece
28 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Star Wars Episode III is the ultimate climax of the prequel trilogy and a perfect one at that. The way the story is told and the way Order 66 is executed (pun intended) is perfect. You have this feeling like someone has torn a piece of you out of your body as every Jedi is cut down one by one. The music, the set pieces, the acting, it's all perfect in this movie. From the somber and horrific Order 66 to the heartbreaking battle between Obi-wan and Anakin, this is an example of George Lucas' best. This will forever live as a classic in my eyes, just like the original trilogy that started it all. I will always cry when Obi-wan says his last words before leaving Anakin on Mustafar.

Watch Dogs (2014 Video Game)
9/10
An Underrated gem.
18 May 2021
Overall, Watch Dogs from 2014 is an amazing game with many things to do, an amazing city to explore, and a brilliant story and atmosphere. This game is truly one-of-a-kind and honestly doesn't get the attention it deserves because of some features which, like the reputation system, I agree aren't the best. From a gameplay perspective it's a bit annoying as it is an open world and you will, say, run over pedestrians accidentally. However from a story perspective it makes sense because of the vigilante motif. Another feature that was fixed in later games was the music collection. The music was limited not only in the music itself but the features as well. There are no radio stations and whatnot, so you're just stuck skipping around hoping to pick the song you want to listen to. If those features were fixed or weren't in this game along with the sometimes flat graphics, I'd say that this was a perfect game, which is why I give this game a 9/10.
