I like this movie because it reminds me of when I played baseball. I especially liked the scene where Jimmy Dugan, played by Tom Hanks, yells at a girl and didn't expect her to cry. This scene shows what athletes had to go through when playing. The whole movie is about what athletes had to go through, specifically women. A girl named Dottie, played by Geena Davis, and her sister get accepted into women's baseball and compete for the championship. Women competing for a championship was not common back then. The history of this movie is interesting because it shows us how women were treated and what men's expectations were of women. This movie can also be connected to women standing up for themselves today. One women in particular, Madonna, who plays Mae, was the type of character who was strong willed and stood up for herself. I think Madonna made this movie better because she is a known celebrity and is very influential. I like how the movie ended with the ball players all old and they reflect on the good times they had. I didn't like how Dottie and her sister got put on different teams at the end. But overall, this movie was really good and I would recommend it to any one.

This movie is very relate able to me because I also played sports. The scene where Jesse Owens (Stephan James) learns how to zone out the haters from his coach (Jason Studeikis) was a really good addition to the movie. The plot of this story consists of a black athlete who attends Ohio State track and field team and goes on to win many gold medals in the Olympics. Since we already know Jesse Owens will be successful because why else would they make a movie on him, I expected the movie to be predictable. But they actually did a very good job at making this movie suspenseful. This movie is an accurate representation of racism and the struggle of African American to this day. I liked how the movie showed some white people stand up against racism. Often today, people assume all white people supported racism against blacks. I did not like the end of the movie because I felt like it didn't show the shock on the people Jesse Owens proved wrong. But, overall this is very good movie. I recommend this movie for any athletes who feel they need some motivation.

Cinderella Man is a really good movie that shows you the struggles of the Great Depression. It also shows you a family who is fighting to survive and a man who fights even the toughest of challenges. The man, Jim, is a boxer who broke his hand and still fights. I like how he said he fought for milk. This symbolizes that he fights to provide for his family. I also like the characters accents. I didn't like the amount of talking there was. But, the historical accuracy is very on point. Overall, this is a very good movie to motivate you to fight for what you want.

I like this movie because it involves many emotions. This movie goes from happy to sad and loving to anger. The historical accuracy is pretty accurate beside the fact Wonder Women has powers and all the Greek Gods and such. I like how this movie has characters who all have a different view point, and Diana learns about all of them. In the end, she says, " Now I know, only love can save the world." She fights for what she believes in and what is good. Overall, this movie is excellent and I recommend it.

I watched this movie as part of a History Through Film class. I like this movie because it shows the crazy and adventurous spirit of cowboys. It also shows romance that we may think is unhealthy but is what helps the cowboys get through their tough times. I didn't like how everyone was against Butch Cassidy and Sundance kid. Even though they are criminals. The historical accuracy is good because many cowboys were like pirates but on land. It is nice to see the point of view from criminals so you can understand them. Overall, this movie is good because it had lots of action and never rested.

I'm watching this movie as part of a History Through Film class. I think they were willing to sacrifice so much because they wanted to make a point. They wanted to be treated equal so much, they risked their lives. By doing so, they used some strategies. These strategies include: Protesting in front of the White House, suffering harsh weather and brutal beat downs by the public, and also not getting married. And they found support from people who may feel the same way or have been put through some harsh conditions themselves. The main character even found a male supporter who lost his wife. One person can make a difference when striking. Support and the will to go on wins strikes.

Newsies was a well written story. It is historically accurate because many people went on strike during that time period. The movie sound and effects were good and caught up with technology. The actors were good and appearance matched their character. I liked the happy ending. I also liked the way the movie connected you to the characters emotionally. I didn't like the random dancing and singing because it's weird when they do it a lot. In general, this movie was pretty good and I recommend watching it.

I watched this movie as part of a History through film class. A group of Texan's were determined to protect the Alamo from the Spanish. Many battles were taken place in order for them to win this war. This movie was made in 2004 so the graphics were not terrible. It makes the movie easier to understand when they remake an old movie. I like how they showed blood because it made it more fun and realistic. I also liked how it showed the cultural differences between the Texan's and the Spanish. I didn't like the way they filmed the gun shots because they looked super fake. Overall, this movie was really good for educational purposes but not the most fun to watch. But forever remember the Alamo.

I watched this movie for a Hostory through film class. The filmmaker was telling a story about a boy who went on a whaling trip and got stranded. This story is told by the boy when he is older and is confessing all that he did to survive. This movie has good acting and special effects. This is probably because it is a newer movie. I liked how it ended with George telling the truth about the whale that sunk their ship. I also liked how they brought a plot twist about cannablism into the movie. I didn't like how it started with whale oil making people rich. But over all, this movie is very entertaining and has an emotional impact on you.

I watched this movie as part of my history through film class. The filmmaker is telling a story about George Washington and his army crossing a river and into battle. It shows the struggle of the battle and how George Washington came out victorious. Since this movie is made in 2000, there isn't any special effects but the quality of the movie is good. This movie is pretty good at being historically accurate. This movie reminds me of Hacksaw Ridge in a way because the war was tough but the characters of each movie remain tougher. I liked how they showed the blood when fighting because it makes it seem realistic. I also liked how George Washington was viewed as a stubborn character. I didn't like how you had to read what happened to each character at the end of the movie. Overall I liked the movie because it was a newer movie and had more action than I thought.

I watched this movie to learn about the little guys of that time. The filmmaker is telling the story of a young teenager and his life during the fight for human rights. The entertainments value was pretty good and was often upbeat. I liked how the music kicked in depending on the mood. The quality of the movie was a little less than good, but that's because of the time it was made. I didn't like how the movie was all happy. There were no really sad parts so it didn't make the movie more realistic and it didn't have an emotional effect on me. The historical accuracy was pretty good, but it wasn't very bloody or scary as it was in real life. A person in 1957 would view this like we would any other new movie. They probably think it is very cool and entertaining. Overall, the movie was worth watching for any age, but not worth watching over and over again as most Disney movies are.

I watched this movie because of a History Through Film class. In this movie, the filmmaker is telling the story of Pocahontas and John Smith. It shows us how they met and how they went about their journey. I noticed that because this film was made in 2005, there were not much special effects. I also noticed that the technology used was not as high tech as movies are now. This movie made me question its historical accuracy because the English accent was not the same as it was in the past. Also, Pocahontas's age in the movie is portrayed to be older when in reality she was only 10. This movie reminded me of Hunger Games because of the way the filmmaker cut to scenes of nature. I liked how the filmmaker let the actors do their own thing in the movie. It makes the movie more authentic. I also liked how John Smith was Portrayed as a quiet hero because it brings a sense of mystery. One thing I didn't like was the fact John didn't fight very hard to be with Pocahontas. Overall, I think the movie is ok, but not very action packed. It was a little hard to sit through without dozing off. I would watch other movies by this director because I like the nature scenes. It was certainly an interesting movie.

I was watching this movie for a history through film class. I was also watching this movie so I can see what it was like when special effects were first in use. I noticed the differences from todays movies and this. There was no noise and it was black and white. the camera was also shaking a lot. The story the film maker is telling is about a group of people traveling to the moon. At first they were arguing about how. Then they flew there in a rocket. After they met and ran from aliens. Last they returned home safely. I liked how it told a whole story in just a few minutes. I also liked that it had some action at the end. I liked how there was a satisfying ending. I did not like how quiet it was. I personally did not like this movie because I am just a teenager who likes up to date movies. It wasn't too bad considering it's time frame. But I wouldn't watch it on my own time.
