Percy Jackson and the Olympians: I Plunge to My Death (2024)
WERE HERE WERE FINALLY HERE
This was a great episode and the first of the series that made me crave for the next one immediately. I'm actually blown away. I'm so glad Riordian is back in this new more age accurate way. Also who else agrees this story was meant to be told episodically instead of film. Great actor for echidna! She scared me and I'm too old for that nonsense. Also BEST PORTRAYAL OF CHIMERA!!!! I think the kids needed a little bit to settle in but now we have better chemistry and better delivery on their lines. I really love this series already and think Walker Scobell is the absolute perfect kid as Percy!! Can't wait to see more 9/10 episode wow.
All About Steve (2009)
As original as they come. Given the remake.
I live for wacky Sandra bullock. We don't see enough of her in different roles but this was one of a kind. Also Thomas Haden church MADE this film. Bradley Cooper and Ken Jeong also put a smile on my face. You don't realize how much this film affects you until it does. Small idea turned big success. I truly cannot reccomend this movie enough. 8/10.
Next time you say these actors don't have range watch this flick. Also the younger kid who becomes her biggest fan (Apple sculptor) has a great role on scrubs if you like that show go back and watch his episodes. Anyways to end my review I just wanna remind everyone of the acting prowess bright here.
Summertime (2018)
THERE ARE BETTER VERSIONS OF THIS FILM
Overall this movie was not terrible. It was definitely cheesy and bad acting at times but it has a fun aesthetic to it. However 80s Long Island or New Jersey has been done better in so many more shows and movies. If you like this aesthetic but want better plot lines and romance go watch the following: Red Oaks (tv series on prime), Staten Island Summer (movie), and also Hot Summer Nights (movie). All of these do what this movie tried to do and do it way better.
Just Like Heaven (2005)
Great film! Love Mark and Reese together
This movie got me by surprise. I wasn't fully invested in it but on the back half of it found myself craving more. I haven't seen much of Mark Ruffalo's early career but I will say this movie makes me want to go find more. Also Reese is often accused of playing the same role in each of her films, but I think this movie proves that statement wrong. I have never seen her so graceful and light on screen. She is probably what made this movie come to life, (no pun intended). Anyways great watch and 4/5 stars from me.
Happy Endings (2011)
Why did this get cancelled????
I love this show. The actors have such great rapport and chemistry. Also it comes off sometimes like a better version of new girl. Eliza coupe and Damon wayans jr are shining stars and will make you do a spit take from laughing so hard. I'm ready for a show of this caliber to return. Also I wanna note that sometimes shows will make one person dumb then two people dumb then all of them dumb; an example is Joey in friends, then phoebe, then Rachel and the rest of the gang by the end of the show, but this show basically keeps the idiotic shadow cast on one character: Elisha cuthbert. And she really nails that dumb blonde take so no complaints on that end.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
Oh boo hoo! Todays fans aren't fans at all!
I love Star Wars and it was hard to enjoy the most recent trilogy apart from Rian Johnsons entry, but in my opinion I believe Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are saving this franchise! Great finale episode with a few things I would've enjoyed to see better- such as Luke's reaction to Grogu's choice or Cad Bane not being dismissed so quickly after being introduced into live action. However I believe Rodriguez did an exceptional job directing and I enjoyed most everyone's performance. If you enjoy Star Wars simply just to see more of the universe then you'll love this and even if you don't like Star Wars that much you will probably still enjoy this series!
Scrubs: My Full Moon (2009)
Turk and Elliot!!!!
Rewatching the series and I definitely love the friendship between J. D. and Turk, but man oh man the chemistry that Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison have together when performing comedy is unmatched to me. Neither of their characters require impressing each other so they can be 100% themselves. A perfect example of this is their conversation where Eliot is trying to figure out what's wrong with her patient while Turk fills in the convo with existential questions about being a doctor! Anyways I would watch a whole spinoff with these two maybe that's just me.
