Lots of fun... if only she would have "shrugged!"
27 May 2024
I've enjoyed Jennifer Lopez's acting and was not disappoined, even if it was a bit predictable with too much violence and death, but the hero won, the villian died and all was well with the world.

Great acting, dialogue, plot was a bit thin, (evil A. I.) but ya can't have everything.

It was definitley enjoyable - would recommend it to fans of Lopez and action/adventure. Especially enjoyed the conversations with "Smith" good blend of serious and humor - sarcasism and more which made the move very entertaining.

A very good "date night" adventure - would like to see more from the aftermath - why this world had SO many different landscapes? Went from snow, to desert, to forest and back - nice place to visit I suppose.

Real Teen issues mixed in with Fantasy
3 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I found this series very interesting the way they mix real-life issues with fantasy/magic. One character suffers from bulimia, another cuts themselves and a really TRANS character who can change their sex at will - SO much easier than surgery.

The conversations are the same with the YA and their parents, but are addressed in a totally different way. The show is listed as a comedy (?), but I didn't find any humor in the graphic violence, murders, especially the parents' death at the very beginning of the pilot.

Super hero shows should be FUN, not so dark and bloody, but then again, I'm probably not the best audience for this series.

The Super Models (2023– )

Intelligent, Independent Women Change Industry
21 September 2023
When I first read about this documentary, I thought "who cares about plastic "super" models" but then I started watching it and was really impressed. How these four women transformed the modeling industry, changed as it evolved and maintained their dignity and respect in an industry that strips women of both much too often is very inspirational. Fighting off the critics just because they were being assertive, especially when it came to salary, making no excuses for demanding what they were worth, when women were told to shut up and just walk! May they continue to shine on the cover of Vogue well into their 80's!

Fans of Blazing Saddles? ?
18 November 2020
Anyone else notice the fictional town in last night's episode was ROCK RIDGE??? That was the name of the town in Mel Brook's classic comedy movie Blazing Saddles - I could NOT stop laughing - wonder how the cast/crew made it through the scenes? Maybe the A.I. has a sense of humor?

I now want to play CHESS!
25 October 2020
I do play chess, however very badly. My husband was actually rated at one time and kept beating me! This movie was FANTASTIC! It captured so much from the very beginning to the emotionally charged ending. Although chess was it's main focus it certainly wasn't its only focus. Such a STRONG cast, brilliant writing, directing, everything about it was, in a word PERFECT!

I was a guest on two episodes
25 September 2020
This was such an intelligent program, no wonder it was cancelled! I was a guest on two episodes, Roseland Carter, Jimmy's wife and another on jury duty - just like jury duty, one of the guests didn't show, so I was asked to do another segment.. in a DIFFERENT dress! It was a wonderful experience, but I believe too high-brow for the audience at that time.

More music and dancing than story
12 September 2020
There was a lot to like about this series - IF you ignored the usual high school overdone story lines - snotty "popular" white girl - wimpy boyfriend, "unpopular but talented minority girl - dead mom, obnoxious little brother.. all of that been there, seen it before. The other problem was the date. It obviously was NOT filmed in 2020 considering all the high schools in California were shut down this year, NONE of the performances, parties, etc would have been possible, which put a bit of a reality downer into an otherwise very enjoyable performance by some extremely talented actors! Looking forward to season 2.. IF they have a season 2!

Doctor Who characters are Chasing Shadows!
7 September 2020
Not one, not two, but THREE actors from Doctor Who are featured in the too-short series. River Song, Mickey and Martha's mother! They could have used the TARDIS to figure out the mystery. A little freaky seeing River in bed with Mickey.

Cast changes ended my interest
23 August 2020
I really enjoyed the first 6 seasons - but after so many of my favorite actors left and were replaced with truly AWFUL ones - I stopped watching. The lizard had more appeal than any of the new cast -

The plots became boring. Watched the first 10 minutes to see who died, and the last 10 minutes to see who did it, the rest of the show became boring and tedious and frankly I didn't care at all about any of the characters.

Great mystery with many twists and surprises!
6 August 2020
Being stuck-at-home allows tons of free time to watch some really terrific British series on Acorn and Britbox! So many surprises in this series, the last 10 minutes are shocking. The only questions I have is just WHY anyone would live in this apartment complex with ALL those deaths/infidelities and totally CRAZY neighbors? And why does Indira Varma, a wonderful married actress, constantly get casts in lesbian roles? What Remains and For Life (in the US) (that's meant to be a joke... she's a great actress, that's why!!)

SO CONFUSED!!
23 March 2020
The replicates all need nametags, like the Twilight Zone episode "Number 12 Looks Just Like You" and the humans need a CAPTCHA checkmark that says "I'm not a robot" so we can tell who is who and what is what! SO CONFUSED!!!

Two different movies would have been exceptional without the Gods/Giants plot
10 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is actually 2 different movies and one w/out the mythology and religion aspect would have been much more contemporary with a world wide audience - young family moves to small town, a environmentally active teen discovers the main factory and source of the town economic fortune is "accidentally" murdered and no one in the town is not only not investigating, but is gas lighting the main character's attempts to report the truth. Plus one abusive father, teen defies father/family because he's in "love" all of this have the elements of a great story.

BUT, the subplot of the mythology supernatural good v evil isn't nearly as interesting-in fact, it's way overdone and frankly boring and juvenile. Then again, that sees to b the target audience.
