Euphoria: Trouble Don't Last Always (2020)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
10/10
Powerful and real
7 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Very few shows can turn an hr episode of 2 characters sitting in a diner and make it into a showcase of emotion and realism. Perfect acting from Zendaya again after her Emmy win for season 1 who is likely to win again just based off this one episode. Rue is a tragic character that is impossible not to sympathize with but nice to see a recovering addict like Ali to put her in her place. She's lost, she's high and bluntly admits suicide is not off the table. I haven't seen a show really cover metal illness and addiction in such a raw almost documentary like style of filmmaking. I love the dynamic of the 2 characters in this episode I really hope there is more from them together in the upcoming season. The acting comes so natural it's flawless. And this episode speaks to me like a social commentary of 2020 in the way we all feel a sense of powerlessness every day. Rue to me is not a lost cause but this is definitely a road to a long path of likely more self destruction. From this episode alone season 2 will be amazing. This is from a damaged characters perspective which makes the audience more in touch with her and hard not to root for her to get it together. Brilliant episode that asks us even if not mentally ill or addicted to drugs to just listen and put judgement aside for an hr. No show to me can touch the raw and unflinching beauty of this. Like Ali said sober or high drugs take everything you are away from you. It ends with hope he's there to help Rue and hopefully addicts out there will watch this and feel hope for better days ahead. Emmys are due for Ali and Rue! Simplistic and beautiful in every sense.

Surreal, beautiful and haunting
11 November 2020
One of those movies that feels more like someone's memory of events than it does a movie. Told in a very jagged, druggy narrative the film follows a group of girls who decide to live it up in Florida for spring break. It's a journey that will become unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. Once they meet drug dealer Alien (played superbly by James Franco) nothing will ever be the same. Fueled by a bumping soundtrack and a great ensemble cast this is a trip you'll want to take. The film feels like it's told from ones perspective of a vacation gone wrong and the flash forwards placed throughout makes this a haunting film that will stay with you once over. Spring break, spring break, spring break forever !!

Raunchy as can be but with a layer of sweetness
10 September 2020
Very funny movie that is both sexy, very unfiltered but some romance too. Don't let the title fool you very good movie. Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen play 2 cash strapped roommates who are in desperate financial trouble so they decide to make a porno. Once the cameras start rolling long repressed feelings begin to surface and things will no longer be the same. Also starring real life porn stars Traci Lords and Katie Morgan this is one great comedy that will have you laughing from start to finish. From the director of Clerks and Dogma Kevin Smith has made another dirty comedy classic!

Cabin Fever (2002)
10/10
A gore addicts delight !
23 August 2020
Geysers of gore, dark humor, great cast make this a must see. Eli Roth pays homage to cult classics such as "Evil Dead" and "Night of the living dead". A group of 5 friends at a cabin in the woods fall prey to a deadly skin eating virus and soon begin turning on each other out of paranoia of who has the virus or not. It makes you think who can you trust in a situation like that and how far would you go to protect your friends from an unseen killer. Very unique take on the classic tale of the cabin in the woods type of story but instead of a killer it's something inside you ! Bloody, fun and Unique. Catch it!

Perfect exit episode
21 August 2020
This episode was great but also bittersweet for me since I love michonne a lot and sad to see her exit for now. When I heard this episode was coming I was skeptical that they could pull off the same magic they did with ricks exit episode but they did it ! In an amazing episode of what ifs we got a peak into michonnes mind and what would have happened if she didn't save Andrea and meet ricks group. Surprising episode that explores what makes michonne such a great character. It's not goodbye it's see you later and what a journey it was. Perfect send off and stands on its own as just a great hour of tv. Season 10 has been phenomenal in every way and the show feels more alive than ever before. As soon as the episode ended I wanted to watch it again it was something special for sure.

Halloween II (1981)

This is how you do a sequel!
15 August 2020
Picking up right where the 1978 classic left over we get to see more of the night he came home! Laurie played by JLC is taken to a mostly abandoned hospital where Michael is waiting and working his way to her. What works so well is the superb cast but also the atmosphere to me hospitals are very eerie and this movie makes the most of this creepy setting. Out of all the Halloween sequels this stands out a lot. Scary, suspenseful and a killer ending! One thing people may not like is the gore element since the original was virtually bloodless in comparison but to me it does not deter the films power. Michael is back and the body count rises. Perfect sequel in every way and only adds to the legacy of this classic film series.

New Nightmare (1994)

A spark of originality in the series
15 August 2020
Wes Craven was a genius and this film goes along the same lines as "Scream" with it's tongue in cheek approach to the genre. Heather Lagenkamp plays herself but is pulled into pulling Nancy one more time when she discovers Freddy is real and trying to possess her young son Dylan. Countless deaths and tragedies ensue making her realize this will be a final fight to save herself and her son from Freddy who is stronger and more menacing than ever. Such a good sequel and blurs the lines between movie and reality with actors playing themselves and their movie counterparts. And Freddy no longer the funny Freddy we know is more evil than ever before. Scary, smart and a lot of fun!

The Godfather pt 2 of slashers
14 August 2020
To me this is the perfect sequel in a way a step above its previous entry. A new round of teens go to camp crystal lake Where someone is waiting... could it be Jason ?? It's a non stop thrill ride with some memorable kills and a great heroine played by Amy Steel. Very suspenseful, bloody and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely one of the best of the Friday sequels. A must watch for slasher movie fans and a thrilling ending too! The body count continues...

A haunting masterpiece
30 July 2020
One of those movies that really stays with you long after it's over and does require multiple viewings. Twisty, depressing and tragic story of a us Marshall Played by DiCaprio who is sent to the mysterious Shutter Island to locate an escaped mental patient named Rachel. From there we begin to learn that nothing is what it seems and the past of Teddy(DiCaprio) is more terrifying than anything in this hospital. Excellent supporting cast and huge twists makes this a must see. It's a dark and disturbing movie but it always draws me in to watch it again and again. Pure movie magic from master filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

Masterpiece in every sense of the word
23 July 2020
One of those movies that sticks with you forever. Haunting portrait of a society on the brink of collapse and a group of young men who enjoy rape, Beethoven and milk. Alex plays the leader who eventually ends up locked away in a depraved insane asylum. In a way what he experiences there is worse then the crimes he committed on the outside world. It'll make you think it may make you turn away but you cannot deny this films power. A movie that is still timely and directed beautifully by the master Stanley Kubrick.

a modern classic i loved it
24 March 2014
Amazing costumes, amazing actors, great music all in all a great movie. a top notch cast of my favorite actors headline this fact based tale of con scheme. a man and woman con artist team have made good money scamming desperate people, all is well for them, until... A wild, unhinged cop named Richie(played superbly by Bradley Cooper) brings them down. Now he has a deal help him bring down some people or they both go to jail.. Soon they work with him and nothing is as it seems. the trap is set and anything can happen. Amy Adams and Christian Bale(unrecognizable and 40 pounds heavier)do a great job as the con artists Irving and Sidney. Jeremy Renner is superb as Mayor Carmine Polito who gets involved with the con artist's alluring scheme. But its Jennifer Lawrence who steals the show as Irving's crazed, manipulative wife, Rosalyn. One of the best films of 2013 and a new classic in 70's style cinema.

An American classic!!
5 April 2011
not many films from the 40's have the gritty realism and power that this film has. 1 of the greatest performances of all time and one of the greatest films ever made. Joan Crawford dominates the screen as a housewife, Mildred Pierce who has an unfaithful husband who walks out on her and her 2 daughters. So she proves him wrong by showing him she can do fine all on her own, she then lands a job as waitress, but it barely covers ends meets. But she keeps working hard all in order to give her and her daughters a better life. Especially her cruel and deranged daughter, Veda who always wants more than what she has. But then Mildred owns a SUCCESSFUL restaurant chain and gets huge success. And then finds love in the buildings owner, all is well. Until Veda becomes money hungry and begins to steal money from the whole restaurant and then things get crazy on a dark night in the beach house... This film is a very tragic story of a woman who gets it all, but not for herself but for her awful, unappreciative daughter. Amazing story, a classic film noir and an example of incredible acting.

Wow! A twisty thrill ride!
17 August 2009
An expert thriller about trust and the dangers of it. Crazy, twisty, gripping, and slam bang. A newly married couple go to Hawaii on their honeymoon and they meet a couple that seem well off... But when they discover a killer is loose, they soon begin to suspect who it is. As they become good friends with the couple, they are not sure what to believe anymore. Suspicions pile on and things seem to make sense... But absolutely nothing is what it seems... 1 of the trickiest films ever, with a jaw dropping twist you'll never see coming. The acting is hugely impressive with, Steve Zahn, Milla Jovoich, Timothy Olyphant, Marley Shelton, etc. the thrills don't stop and nothing turns even close to how you feel they would. A true magic trick on the audience, a true thriller that takes you on a wild ride. Highly original, and insanely good.

Obsessed (2009)

forget the bad press, this is a roller-coaster ride!
13 August 2009
1st of all the critics really slammed this film too much. It gives you what it promises, it thrills. it may not be Oscar material, but it is truly a ride you want to take. Remember, it's a thriller about infidelity, fantasy, domestic issues, revenge, and ultimately, obsession. The acting is good, especially Larter as a devilish temptress, Lisa, who has feelings for a big shot boss, Derek, played by the great Idris Elba. She's knows that he's off limits, he has a kid and is married, the gorgeous Sharon, played smartly by the queen diva Beyonce'. But that doesn't stop her from setting traps in order for Derek to be with her. They all backfire, so she just tells him how she feels. he rejects and she soon starts to loose it insanely. She begins to stalk the family and now its war with her and the now unhinged Sharon... Leading to the best girl fight in film...get obsessed over this ride that never slows down..

A truly explosive, crazy, action packed, exhilarating, adrenaline pumping, and incredible. See it in IMAX it is perfect! I have never seen a superhero movie as good as this one! The Joker(played brilliantly by the late Heth Ledger) creates a world without law, rules or order. A world of death, panic, chaos, and destruction. He wants to take over Gotham city and get rid of Batman. Batman has never dealt with a villain with so much power over the crime world. And who targets and kills powerful people with explosives. a true thrill ride!
25 July 2008
A fun, suspenseful, and well acted thriller. A hotel manager(Played perfectly by Mcadams) on a late night home to Miami meets a seemingly charming man(played effectively by Murphy). Soon they talk, he buys her drinks... Then on the flight their seats are right next to each other. They talk more... But then the shocking truth comes out: he is an assassin who has Mcadam's father hostage. Her father will die if she does not participate in getting the department of homeland security killed in her hotel. She can because she is the manager and she has the authority to do so. Then other stunning things come out, Murphy has been watching her secretly for weeks and has planned it so they could sit next to each other. Then an all out war begins when Mcadams defends herself and goes to save her father and others. Nailbiting, suspenseful, and some good action. A true thriller that never stops.

Halloween (2007)
8/10
the perfect remake of a perfect film!
22 July 2008
When I first heard of a "Halloween" remake I really questioned it. But I was so wrong, it is intense, crazy, horrifying, jaw dropping, and great acting. It really goes into the childhood of Michael Myers showing his harrowing descent into madness. None of the other "Halloween" films really goes into the origins of Micahel Myers. This one you see him talk, his extremely dysfunctional family life, and how he tortures and kills animals as a child. Which then leads him to let all his rage out on everyone who he hates, so he viciously kills them all. The murder scenes are very intense and graphic compared to the original's suggestiveness. But it does not harm the film, it is a great shock factor. A true Rob Zombie fan is used to graphic and bloody violence. His vision is so shocking and takes absolutely no prisoners! It actually shows Micheal's experiences in the mental institution with DR.Loomis(brilliantly played by Macolm Macdowell). It makes Micheal Myers character in a in- depth way that has never been seen before. Not just as a soulless killing machine but as a person who becomes an unstoppable killer content on killing everyone in his life. the shocking and suspenseful chase to get Laurie Strode( Micheal's little sister who was adopted by a well-to-do suburb family.) Micheal slowly works through Laurie's friends killing each hideously and destructively and he also viciously kills Laurie's foster parents. Then it comes down to just Michael and Laurie which to a shocking and stunning ending that will leave you breathless! a great slasher thrillride! Also a well acted character study. Also look for Rob Zombie's wife's great performance as Micheal's mom.
