A real good surprise
23 February 2021
This movie depicts really well the first year's medical school in Paris through the friendship of two young students. They have their little stories, their ups & downs and appear totally focused on their final exams. Unlike most films, there is no unrealistic drama, romance or events and we can literally dive into a very competitive environment from the beginning to the end of the first year. Moreover, it is well directed by a real doctor and very nicely played by young actors

In addition to an interesting story, Taboo depicts charismatic and profound characters well played by great actors especially Tom Hardy. His acting performance is exceptional on all levels

When mediocrity is a way of living
23 January 2021
Five long-time friends decide to live in shared accommodations in a wealthy district of Paris. Even if the directing and editing seem quite good with nice images, the script is based on total vacuity with lack of ethics and mere stereotypes. The black guy comes down to his sexual performance and nicely follows his friends without talking too much. The girl has the deep broken voice of someone with lots of certainty. Also, the young wealthy boy has an absent father rich to millions, studies in theaters and can afford everything at the beginning. Since they are young folks in Paris, everything is allowed as long as they have fun no matter for ethics and others. Everything about academics sport, spirituality, knowledges and activities is skipped, as it is obviously not interesting. It could have been an apology to friendship but even that seem fake and not so solid between them. Globally, this movie is on young middle-class people who are lost in their narrow-minded mediocrity

It is quite disappointing
17 January 2021
If you know a little about NDE, the first episode won't learn you anything more than you know. The two following ones talk about mediums, which could be interesting, but the pretentious dutch woman is not credible at all. She seems to take profit of naive people looking desperately for existential answers who are impressed by the mansion where she hosts them, the great rooms and all her manners during lessons. The last three episodes are most interesting, for my part, but we don't learn so much as well

It was a shame
7 December 2020
All actors of this TV show play so badly. It was a shame to broadcast such a crap compared to some american series like 'the fresh prince of Bel-Air' and some others. Even if it was the same level as other French series for teenagers at that time, the characters were mostly mean, agressive, pretentious, superficial, stubborn and not good at all in academics, sports or other levels. Main male actors just had their big mouth for them and their fake «bad boy» look, and girls were just flirting or moralizing guys. All this was in a permanently tense atmosphere. Furthermore, this serie did not depict reality in suburbs' school at all. Some actors were mocked by young people from there during filming. I really think that they were not good examples at all for youngs and it was really a bad serie on all levels

Worst movie ever seen
13 September 2020
This movie shows hysterical persons who do not control their feelings and thinkings at all. One of them is a ridiculous feminist blue-haired girl. People interested in the movie seemed to confuse temper with 'big mouth agressive' and intelligence with 'cultural vacuity'

TV show quite good
5 January 2020
I pretty like this serie owing to an interesting plot, good ideas and pleasant characters. Harry Clayton is an interesting character with a mix of self-confidence, english phlegm, great analytical deduction and also failures, doubts, torments. When he got incredibly lucky owing to a bracelet, it becomes more interesting but it was also a little disappointing to see the detective becoming more pretentious. Several other characters of this TV show are also a bit too much arrogant and self-centered like Suri. I finally felt empathy for the detective who seemed to play the bad guy in the first episode but appeared to be constantly mocked by the main characters for its allegedly lack of competence and intelligence. Hopefully, he manages to show his talents. Harry and his teammate may be very good in their domain but is it useful to often spread their intelligence at others' face in a pretentious tone that cannot accept doubts? Sometimes their conclusions are assumption of other assumption but it appears to be an evidence. In my view, some actors doesn't play their role so well like Clayton's wife, Orwell and Suri but some others are really good especially James Nesbitt... apart from some scenes and sometimes prononciation issues. Despite these negative parts, it is an interesting and entertaining serie which worth watching
