In un giorno la fine (2017)
This movie was really good!
I have gotten in the habit of always reading the reviews before I watch a zombie movie, and I have seen A LOT. i have been through almost the entire wiki list of zombie films, but I check back occasionally because I would hate to miss one that could be awful. I have seen some horrible ones and some really good ones and ones that people say will be bad usually dont bother me that much. Usually some schmuck complaining that the zombies are too cliche.....which to me translates into "zombies acting how zombies should act"....or "the peoples emotions or responses are too cliche"........and I got to the point where i thought maybe the cliche answers about cliche things in the movies were bogus. It turns our I was right again with this movie.
I wanted to rate it a 9/10 but figured I would give it top marks just to offset the morons that left very low scores. The reason behind that is that this movie is awesome! I have seen the one about the guy who gets stuck in a bathroom stall during the outbreak. The elevator is different so it had its own challenges, but they were handled well. Not just well, really well. When he finally gets the chance to get out, I caught myself telling him to stay put. I didnt want him out of the elevator. I dont know about the budget, but it seems they had enough money to do whatever they wanted and do it really well. It shows because the movie is good in almost every way. the style of filming, the actors and their character development, the scenery, the suspense.....what did I forget?
I would have not been surprised if this was a warner brothers film or something based on how well it was done. This is one movie that will be not only hard to forget, it was done so well it spoiled me with zombie films a bit, so from now I might stick my nose up to some other ones I might have liked but will probably suck compared to this.
Dont believe the stupid reviews that talk about "indy" films or "low budget" or "cliche zombie". They were looking to be critical from the start and they found it, surprised? This movie is great and if you are looking for a zombie movie that keeps the pace going, has a good plot with twists, drama, gore, good characters and stuff like that, you will like this.
Darkest Day (2015)
Worth the watch! Good movie!
I was being a snob tonight about the zombie movie I wanted to watch and spent an hour trying to find one that would not disappoint me. I have seen a lot of zombie movies....its actually the only kind of movie I go out of my way to watch, so the wikipedia zombie film list is really picked over. I happened upon another "complete list of zombie movies" and stumbled across this. The reviews were good, and out of the three I had narrowed down, the reviews are why I decided to watch it.
I was expecting low budget but it was not that at all. I was expecting a bad story and unlikable characters but I was wrong on that too. It has its flaws and if you go looking to criticize then you will be able to create a list, for sure, but despite some things that could be better (graphics, some acting, questionable scenarios) it was enjoyable and kept me wanting to watch it.
I left 9/10 because 10/10 was too much and with a 9 I was attempting to raise its rating (doing my part to do that) because I think its worth more stars than it has. British zombie movies are consistently good too and if thats something you like then this is one to check out for sure.
