Doctor Who: The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos (2018)
That's how you wrap up a series
A really enjoyable epsiode which nicely wraps up some of the plot and character arcs from series 11. Genuinely made me smile with the Doctor's speech towards the end of the episode.
The Stenza's return was predictable, sure- but 'Tim Shaw's purpose was different.
Jodie Whittaker and cast all were fantastic.
Fun and exciting! Plus the teaser for the New Years Day epsiode in a few weeks time looked epic.
Doctor Who: It Takes You Away (2018)
A new favourite
This was a very emotion episode- acting was brilliant from both the main and guest cast. Without too many spoilers, if you're a fan of Graham and Ryan Sinclair's characters you'll love this episode. Jodie Whittaker's performance was fantastic as always, with the some real highlights when talking about the universe. Another great and memorable episode!
Doctor Who: The Witchfinders (2018)
Another superb hitstorical episode!
There's so many highlights of this series so far and The Withcfinders is another one. It's a great historical epsiode with some very memorable moments.
Firstly, King James, almost flirting with Ryan. That is brilliant. The Doctor working out what is going on with the Lancashire mud and the Morax. Plus the rest of the gang all had important parts in the story. Overall, a really great epsiode guest write Joy Wilkinson as well as great performances from Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and guest cast. Fantastic!
Doctor Who: Kerblam! (2018)
Another really strong episode!
A really good sci-fi episode! Some moments of tension with great musical score from Segun Akinola.
Jodie Whittaker was superb as always and the guest cast and companions were equally so. Loved the references to previous episodes also. Great writing, great VFX- a great episode!
Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab (2018)
Emotional and Powerful.
That was quite emotional. It was another good episode of Doctor Who, this time from guest writer Vinay Patel.
We get to see more of Yaz's background. Just like 'Rosa', this episode is hirstorical and also almost brought a tear. There's some really great moments- some dialogue between Yaz and Graham that really shows how his character has changed over the series. Graham seems to have become a much more "wise" character as well as providing a good sense of humour.
Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor also shines here with some great moments with the 'Demons' and how she is protecting the human race.
Pacing seemed better than the previous week's episode.
Overall, another fantastic episode with great performances from all the cast.
Doctor Who: The Tsuranga Conundrum (2018)
An interesting, but slow Sci-Fi story
The fifth episode of Doctor Who series 11 as entirely on a spaceship, with a very sci-fi environment and direction. Acting was good from all the main cast as always and there were some great musical moment from composer Segun Akinola. Jodie Whittaker is fantastic as the Doctor and it was good to see some further interaction between Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham (Bradley Walsh). Yaz didn't have much time on screen this week, but still was great.
However, the episode seemed a little slow. The alien was very different from the standard Doctor Who alien. I will definitely need to re-watch this episode.
Doctor Who: Arachnids in the UK (2018)
Edge of your seat scary
A pretty tense episode. Different tone from last week. Making spiders even more scary! Some humorous moments, some quite emotional moments. Jodie is really starting to become her own version of The Doctor and that is fantastic. Guest cast Bradley Walsh is superb and we have some great moments with Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Ryan (Tosin Cole) as well.
Doctor Who: Rosa (2018)
One of my favourites
This episode was incredibly moving and emotion. A really powerful historical story. Normally historical episodes arent my favourite, but I think this episode is now one of mine.
The climax with Rosa and the TARDIS team was very moving. Visually appealing: great cinematography.
10/10.
Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell to Earth (2018)
Spectacular first episode
Stunning visuals, emotional story and a brilliant cast make a fantastic first episode to the series.
There's little mention of the fact that The Doctor is now female and Jodie Whittaker really takes to the role. Sure, there are a few lines that seemed a little off, but the Doctor is still finding herself.
The companions Ryan, Graham and Yas seem interesting. Each have a good character with some parts to them still to explore.
Overall, a great episode which seems new and fresh- an almost perfect start to this new era of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who: The Ghost Monument (2018)
A Good Second Episode
While the second episode needed some more action, it was still enjoyable with some very memorable moments.
The pacing seemed a little off but visually the episode was stunning.
Combined with great performances from Jodie Whittaker and cast, it was a solid episode.
