Leave the World Behind (2023)
I'm pissed.
So what exactly happened? No one knows. Was the whole plot for rose to finish friends? Sure seems like it. Movie starts out great, it's a disturbance to normal life. Mystery is a foot, but don't worry we're going put a white couple with 2 black people (of course) and have them argue about for an hour or so during a nation wide blackout. Then we have 2 kids who aren't ever watched by their alcoholic parents going off and figuring stuff out only to tell no one or the audience. The only thing rose, the daughter, wanted to do is finish the final episode of friends. I guess that's the the only plot line that was resolved cause she watches it. Yay! Wow this movie sucked.
Ambulance (2022)
Everybody calm down, it wasn't that bad.
Honestly at first I was pretty intrigued during the movie, the bank robbery had some nice suspense. Although after that, chaos kind of ensued. If you thought this was going to be a movie of substance then you're just dumb. It's a mindless action movie with dumb corny characters saying dumb corny lines. Get over it, everyone is acting like this was going to be the best movie ever. It's not great, but certainly is more watchable than half the movies pumped out by Hollywood recently.
Belfast (2021)
Wow! Let's make a film black and white and call it art!
The story itself was ok. But the fact that everyone loves this movie so much is kind of annoying. Just think would this movie even have caught your attention if it wasn't black and white? Probably not. Many films have tried this whole black and white thing and honestly it's just boring and annoying at this point.
I Want You Back (2022)
Meh.
Just your average romantic comedy. Predictable, same story line, and a few laughs. Nothing new really, but if you enjoy rom coms you probably won't hate it.
Malignant (2021)
One hell of left turn that was....
Not really spoiling anything here but I don't know how to feel about this movie. It starts off as a good little mystery and then just absolutely goes haywire with the idea and it almost turns into a hardcore action movie. Not saying it was bad, I was definitely entertained, but my god what a strange fu****g movie.
The Grizzlies (2018)
Very happy I found this
I stumbled across this movie on Netflix under hidden gems section. Simply put, definitely a gem. Great acting, great story, and a great watch.
Devs (2020)
My god, the main actress is painful to watch.
Interesting story and plot but it almost becomes unwatchable when the main actress is in it. It's almost kind of confusing how she was casted, seriously anyone could have done better. She becomes unbearable at times. I struggled through the series but the payoff was not worth the struggle. Next time pick someone who can act.
Honest Thief (2020)
Mediocre Liam Neeson action flick
There isn't much else to say. The romance parts were very corny and annoying and there wasn't anything new or original either. Just some gun firing and Liam Neeson being the "good guy". Overall, not one of my favorite Neeson movies I've seen recently.
Psych 2: Lassie Come Home (2020)
If you're a psych fan you'll like it.
It's pretty much more of the same, good ole Shawn and Gus funny back and forth banter. Lassie is back in the picture too. If you're a fan of the show and the first movie then this one will not disappoint.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
More musically driven than comedic.
That's not to say I didn't enjoy the movie though. Sure there were some funny parts, but it's mostly about the music and country pride. I honestly was expecting some dumb funny songs since I actually had no idea what Eurovision was. However, I found myself actually getting into the music and the contest itself. Definitely a feel good movie that we need right now and for a Netflix film, it's one of the better ones.
The King of Staten Island (2020)
I found it hilarious!
This movie had me laughing so hard that I probably missed some important parts. The jokes are definitely current, new, and inventive. I guess some people might just not have the same sense of humor as me, but I loved it. It was also a pretty engaging film on and emotional level. As a 24 year old myself, this movie was spot on with a lot of things in my own life. Bravo jud apatow and pete Davidson!
America's Got Talent: Auditions 1 (2020)
Overall not bad.
The only thing I don't like about this show is that the golden buzzer never seems to actually deserve it. There were better performances than who received it in my opinion.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Couldn't even make it through the first episode.
I absolutely loved the movie snowpiercer so I was kind of excited to see it in show form. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. Boring characters, boring drama, and it seems like it's just going to be a dragged out version of the movie. If you want to watch snowpiercer, just stick to the movie.
Space Force (2020)
Not funny.
The jokes are not thoughtful at all. They are mostly dumb comebacks that I would say to my friends. Very corny and unoriginal jokes. I like Steve carell as an actor but maybe he should just be that, an actor. It's just not funny.
Middleditch & Schwartz (2020)
Hardest I've laughed at my TV in a while!
I stumbled across this on Netflix and I was hesitant at first because most Netflix comedy acts are just so so. This one, however, had me bursting out laughing almost immediately! Both guys work great together and I hope to see more of them. Highly recommended!
The Way Back (2020)
Hands down best of Ben's career
This is not a basketball movie. The story is so much more than just an underdog story. I usually don't like Ben Affleck appart from a couple (Argo and The Town), but he for once in his career shows some real emotion. Good on all the cast, what a great watch.
Come As You Are (2019)
Wow! This movie was great!
This movie had a ton of laughs and a lot of emotion. All of the leads were absolutely great and I simply don't know how anyone couldn't like it. The best movie of 2020 so far. Don't miss it!
Mom and Dad (2017)
Stop crying about the ending!
Just stop. Not every movie has to have a full planned out ending. To me this movie was intense as hell. I'm not a fan of cage but damn was he great for this movie! I don't get the bad reviews this was a fun ass movie to watch! Not the best obviously but it is great "I need to see some violence" entertainment. For sure a cult movie that some people, including me, will remember.
68 Whiskey (2020)
How did this make it on tv?
I only made it about half way through the first episode, but was this really suppose to be a comedy? I didn't find one thing remotely funny and everything about it was just unrealistic and absurd. I never served but I'm assuming people aren't having sex on a military base. That's when I had to turn it off. Just cancel it already!
Compliance (2012)
Frustrating, that is all
If you want to watch a movie where people make dumb decisions and be really really dumb, then I guess this is for you. I get it's based on a true story, but damn are some people really this stupid? Whatever, it entertained me for the 90 minutes even though I wanted to throw my controller through the screen. I gave it a 6 just because the acting was good.
