Urban Rashomon (2013)
Good photographs but irritating narrative
Director sounded too fake and irritating. At first I thought he was acting but then i understood that that's how he normally speaks. Only photographs and the frenchie's song would suffice to make a decent picture.
Hot Dog (2008)
Each Scene makes you wonder more
Such a captivating little story of a dog. I probably wouldn't believe anyone who might tell how good this short movie is. Each action packed up with fun, tension and wonder. It is a good example of story telling.
Samsara (2011)
Movie about everything and nothing
The director knows his audience and serves what they want. He choose to focus on order and catastrophe as well as calmness and anxiety. He captures huge groups as well as individuals and he record empty vast fields as well as dense crowded cities. He basically puts the world in front of our eyes. And you can't look away. Despite of some criticism about showing things that everyone has seen before and not renovating his techniques, i think like, everyone might have seen medinah for example but they didn't see it by the perspective of Ron Fricke. That is important. I think he has a great eye for catching interesting and mesmerizing images and i think he captured amazing videos and timelapses. Even tough he is trying to guide the viewers by showing contrast places, as i can see, his main goal is showing and getting your attention by placing some smart cuts that shocks the viewer. One complain can be about why he didn't give any significant part to pollution. There is a decent part about consumerism but it would be nice if we could have seen the garbages and their affects on us.
Ps: I was schocked and ecstased by the performance of office worker. I had to mention it.
Taxi (2015)
Less than decent
I didn't know past of the director or what he came across by making movies. I only found the title interesting and wanted to watch. For my experience it was worse than a decent film. Director was up on a pedestal and it made every scene less interesting and numb. Problems which he tried to explain were obvious and straight but at the end there was no scene that made me wonder what it will happen next. And the general ambiance of the film was too fake to be real and too real to be fake. So for me it was an ugly form of art. If that is what he wanted to create, great job.
Step Brothers (2008)
It gives what it promises
The main idea of grown-ups acting like children could be tricky. Because mostly they look so stupid that you just can laugh at but they did a great job. Scenario is not strong or great but it gives what it promises. It makes you laugh. And I think if the main characthers would be different the whole movie would fall apart. It is not deffinetly a phenomenon, but it is deffinetly not a bad movie. It deserves 6 stars.
Noah (2013)
Choosing the best way to tell a story
This is the most great way to tell this story. Shooting a computer screen can be really tricky and you can mess it up easily but they did an amazing job. Film directs you to where you have to look. so this makes the film very easy to watch and also it enables you to focus on the content more deeply and really see what is going on in Noah's head. I have never seen something like this before and i loved it. The little details that a teenager does on a daily basis on his/her computer makes this story so real. Actually the story is not unique on its own but how they put on in front of us makes it all.
