Pointless
4 September 2022
I think the concept of this movie was interesting. An agoraphobic who can't leave her house has an actual supernatural reason to not leave her house. A psychologist bets he can get her out of her house in ten days. Things go bad very quickly. This all sounds fine and dandy, but then the man starts talking and never shuts up. Ever. The more he rambles on, the more I can't stand him. The agoraphobic barely moves or speaks, so I never did care about her. There are no scary moments in this movie. I do know this. Forget the ten days. I would have been out of that house in ten minutes just to get away from hearing the man drone on and on about how I should get out of that house. I gave it an extra star because the actor really made me dislike his character.

WTF?
23 August 2022
I've seen bad movies and I've seen bad movies. This thing is one of the worst things I've ever had the privilege of not finishing. And I never leave a movie unfinished! I got 45 min in and couldn't take it anymore. Stupid plot. Horrible acting. The main girl in it needs to be told that yelling every word isn't acting. Don't watch this. Save yourself the pain. Seriously.

Odd little film
21 August 2022
First off, the acting was quite good. I believed every single person was exactly as depicted. I didn't like any of them. The shaky camera scenes were more than annoying. And I like FF movies, so this usually doesn't bother me. The plot jumped all over the place. The people repeated lines over and over again. If I hear the term Old Country once more I'm going to throw something through the tv screen. I guess this would have been better as a straight non-FF movie. Not much better.

Was great until it wasn't

At the end of this movie it says This film was shot in 16 days by 16 people. That's pretty amazing considering it had an interesting plot, a very unique location for filming and the acting was just fine. The camera didn't bounce all over the place and the movie wasn't shot in the dark so you couldn't see what was going on. I enjoyed this movie quite a bit and cared about the characters. Then, the ending. Or lack thereof. I don't know who thought up the ridiculous ending, but someone, anyone should have laughed and said, "No, really. How are we ending this story?"

Not too bad.

Warning: Spoilers
Claire and Teddy have a travel blog. Superhosts. They critique various B & Bs, but they're losing viewers by the score. They go to a beautiful home in the mountains and meet their overly enthusiastic host. Who is definitely beyond creepy. Things go from bad to worse. Secrets are revealed. Blood starts to flow. I enjoyed this movie until (spoilers, spoilers!) Claire and Teddy die. Their deaths happened much too easily and it annoyed me to no end. I suppose if you think of this movie as an episode of Creepshow from the very beginning you'll probably enjoy it. Unfortunately, I didn't.

Not for me
1 August 2022
I had heard that this FF movie was highly disturbing. It didn't disturb me. The monologue from the main character continued through the entire movie. It never let up. Not once. I was not so much disturbed by the actions on the screen as I was annoyed by the constant rambling that never let up. I was hoping it would at least have a strong ending. It did not. If you're reading these reviews, I'm sure you're aware that the main character is overly obsessed, to say the least, by Ann Hathaway and is making a movie to impress her. I'm giving this a 3 instead of a 1 only because I found the high energy of the main character very impressive.

Terrible movie. Terrible acting.
1 August 2022
I've watched a few survival FF movies with a horror element and I've enjoyed them. But, this one is just plain awful. The main guy can't act. The plot is plodding and goes nowhere. I stuck with it. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Warning: Spoilers
I had heard about this movie in that it was a bit like the Bad Ben movies, which I love. I liked the main guy and he did a good job of a man becoming obsessed with what was happening in the woods behind his new house. Things go from bad to worse and he slowly starts falling apart. He gets a gun and decides to take matters into his own hands. Then, it ends. No resolution. No real clue as to what's really in his house. No idea what happened to him. It was annoying. Too bad..

You can do better, Steve!
27 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At the beginning of this film I noticed the name Steve Gonsalves. And I thought, Ghost Hunters Steve? Naw. Well, as it turns out, it is Ghost Hunters Steve. I do like him, but this movie and this investigation is boring as crap. We have a chandelier turning off and on and a BALL ROLLING. That's it. We see the footage of this ball moving over and over and over. You want to see stuff moving? Watch Most Haunted.

Not bad at all.
27 July 2022
A young woman and her cameraman go into a decrepit building to do a live vlog and it all goes bad. Unlike a lot of these movies, I liked both characters. They weren't snarky with each other or condescending. This was filmed in one long shot, in one long take which is very unique. I didn't care for the ending. I thought it was kind of a cheat and rather unimaginative. Hence the lesser rating.

Nothing happens
23 July 2022
I really wanted to like this movie. Reviews seem to be all over the place. I just couldn't get into it. Absolutely nothing happens until the last fifteen minutes. And by then, I didn't care. I kept pausing it and hoping it was almost over. Wasn't scary. Wasn't creepy. Wasn't gory. Wasn't anything. I see what they were going for, but it did nothing for me.

Great until the very end

Warning: Spoilers
This was an interesting concept. A man standing trial for murder fires his lawyer so he himself can give his closing arguments. I don't think this would fly in real life, but I'll go with it. He gives a long speech about how he meets the love of his life and how he ends up being charged with the murder of a scum bag dealer. The story and the characters are interesting, and they throw in a few twists here and there, but the non-ending ruined the whole thing. Personally, I think the jury found him guilty. They refused to look at him. And I'm not too sure I believed him anyway. There were a few things that weren't addressed that pointed directly to him being the shooter. I won't watch it again.

Reeled me in
14 July 2022
An interesting concept. Linda Johnson gets kidnapped live on her streaming acct and we watch her previous postings and various security cameras as to how everything happened. I'll admit some of it was a bit slow. The entire scene with her ex could have been edited down to a few minutes. But, I got caught up in her life and what happened to her through no fault of her own. And I actually liked her, which says a lot. So many times the main character is annoying and I don't care about them. A lot of people didn't know what happened at the very end. I watched the last 20 min several times and I'm positive I figured out what happened. All in all, a good little movie that held my interest right up until the end.

Warning: Spoilers
I got as far as the main character doing surgery on his own face with a scalpel and I gave up. About 25 min in. I fast-forwarded through the rest and what I saw didn't change my opinion. Saying this movie is stupid and ridiculous is being kind.

Lost it's way
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This started out strong with a woman coming back from the dead able to heal the sick and make the crippled walk. This miracle worker is worshipped in this little town with more and more people vowing that she is God on Earth. As she demands more and more from her followers it's obvious that God has nothing to do with her. Punishment for not believing is spending eternity in a closed coffin, taking place over a few minutes. Then, the movie fell apart. It turned into a zombie/demon apocalypse with everyone coming back from their self-imposed death to kill the actual living in a zombie/demon fashion. The ending was your typical last guy standing screaming into the camera as he dies. Half the movie was good and the second half sucked. Hence the 5 rating.

A sloppy mess
8 July 2022
This started off fine, but then began bouncing all over the place. It desperately needed a consistent, coherent plot and De Niro needed to stop chewing the scenery. He was nothing but annoying after a while. By the end, I couldn't care less about anyone in this mess. It took me three days to watch it, because I kept finding other more interesting things to do. Like vacuuming the house.

Controversial? I think not.
4 July 2022
What a complete waste of time! I had heard about this famous found footage movie and finally got to watch it on Tubi while I'm home sick with covid. Everyone in this movie has horrible dialogue and the acting is atrocious. I've never heard such stupidity continue throughout the entire length of one movie. I stuck it out until the bitter end. Even the ending was ridiculous.

True, but not true
2 July 2022
This movie is very loosely based on the actual case of Ward Weaver who abducted, raped and murdered two young girls aged 13 and 14. He was arrested several months after the girls disappeared. One was found in a box in a shed and the other girl was in a blue barrel that was buried in his yard under a layer of concrete. He is in prison serving two life sentences. I would have rather seen an actual movie about this case and this sick, disgusting man and how he was caught than the piece of garbage I just watched. The one girl was portrayed as obviously asking for it, and the other was left unprotected when she gave information to the police. The last 20 min are exploitive torture porn and saying young teens should watch this and it's a cautionary tale is just stupid because they will say what kids always say- - It will never happen to me.

Just awful.

I don't know what to think about this movie. It tries to be a black comedy, a pure sci/fi and a horror movie all at once. It succeeds at none. Chris Hemsworth must have been bored out of his skull to get involved in this mess. I threw in one extra star because watching him dance across his bedroom made me smile.

Gets stupider every 24 hours
22 June 2022
I've seen several movies that do a twist on the Groundhog Day theme. Most have been pretty decent. Not this one! OMG, I didn't like either of these people from the get go. They never once seemed to be compatible. The plot was a mess and by the end I didn't care who was doing what to whom and why.

Great potential thrown out the window
22 June 2022
The idea of an underwater haunted house sounds very intriguing. I had high hopes for this one. Those hopes crashed and burned very early. The boyfriend is a total jerk. The girl screams and cries her way through the entire movie. The big explanation of what we're seeing is too little too late and the ending is stupid. Then, the ending after the credits is stupid. Skip this one. Please.

Sound was terrible!
21 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was an interesting mockumentary that started off very well and quickly took a nosedive. Everything about the moon cities and time travel and conspiracy theories was fine until halfway through when this man literally spent 25 min explaining the plot to us, complete with little drawings to make us understand what he was saying. This bogged down the movie tremendously. Now, about the sound. Maybe it was just the Tubi copy, but the music throughout the entire movie, drowning out a ton of dialogue, was awful. No matter what was going on, including crawling around an underground complex FF style, there was this loud classical or mood music. Took me right out of the story. Completely unnecessary and annoying.

Horrible. Just horrible.

Nothing happens in this movie. Nothing. Some witches, and that plotline went nowhere. A red-eyed beast, whose eyes are all you ever see, and two "survival" guys who fight the entire time. Things change up in the final five minutes of this monstrosity. Seriously. I think the movie was written around those final five minutes. Not worth your time. It certainly wasn't worth mine.

Never goes anywhere
11 June 2022
You get to watch this guy editing and zooming in and isolating sound and isolating movement of dashcam footage that he wasn't supposed to get for a news broadcast. This goes on and on and on. Nothing about this movie surprised me, including the ending. Absolutely nothing. I gave it a three instead of a one because I actually liked the main actor.

Excellent sci/fi

It's about time we got an intelligent science fiction show with fascinating characters! I love every second of it. I think I read the writers plan on this being five seasons long, so they have a definite beginning and a planned ending. This is the way quality shows are done!
