Maggie Moore(s) (2023)
Absolutely nothing to recommend here
Maggie Moore(s) is supposedly a comedy, but not even remotely funny.
It's also supposed to be a thriller, but there's absolutely no suspense.
Dull and pointless throughout, it's very disappointing given the talent of some of the people involved.
Constant 'F' swearing loses any power when it's used as often as it is by one of the main characters, and surely nobody in their right mind would ever work on a film that uses "photos of little children" as a comedy plot device?
One final note; this is yet another stinker that comes with the tagline 'A Sky Original'. In future I'll see that as a warning to keep well away.
The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022)
Sick - and not in a good way
Do you like hearing copious and strong swearing?
Do you like seeing copious and gratuitous vomiting?
Do you like laughably bad scientific explanations?
Do you dislike strong clear plots and realistic dialogue?
Do you want to see the usually wonderful Bill Nighy embarrass himself by trying to out-Bowie Bowie?
If you answered "Yes" to the above, then this is the show for you.
Everyone else should avoid this mess. It has none of the grace and artistic beauty that made the original film a Cult classic. It's the prime example of the maxim, "just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should".
Staged (2020)
Simply not funny
Not funny, sweary, degrading to all involved. Such a shame that BBC think this now classes as quality TV.
