A Perfect Ending (2012)
A perfect ending? Well...
I didn't care much for the set-up. It seemed too contrived. It almost fell into the trap of being ridiculous and laughable. Why do we care about these almost unlike able characters? This movie's strength was Barbara Niven who was good at conveyed emotion very well which helped the viewer connect with character. Rebecca grows as a person from a tight, self-absorbed and materialistic housewife to a carefree, bubbly and caring woman in the end. The relationship that stuck out the most wasn't with Paris but with the dysfunctional family dynamics especially the protectiveness of. daughter, Jessica which was really moving and beautiful. B. It was almost....perfect.
Sorority House Massacre (1986)
Not too shabby....there are worse ones than this.
This is a Roger Corman film so I was expecting some awfulness to it (ie: Planet 9 from outer space). However, it was a surprisingly good slasher film.
Yes, there are a lot of Halloween (the brother/sister), Friday the 13th (couple making out outside) and Nightmare on Elm Street (dreams ) references, but it had its own take and story to tell.
It would have been better if they were twins and had a connection that way...Maybe, not. The acting was better if not the same than one would see in any other slasher film. The hospital staff was portrayed as decent and real unlike the portrayal in Friday the 13th: Final Chapter. The dining room and nightmare sequences are probably the best.
Flavor of Love (2006)
Flavor of love: It's all about the ratings!
Flavor of love is a type of show that makes one want to turn away only to peek at what is going on. Flavor of love is shamelessly entertaining and a guilty pleasure.
The premise is similar to the bachelor, though in this case it is in a jerry springer-like laughable atmosphere at full pelt. Where women are throwing punches, insults, tearing out weaves and using awful vocabulary that would make English teachers everywhere cringe.
In the eye of this hurricane is oddball, eccentric, clock wearing fossil "rapper" Flava Flav out to find a 'paramour' to add to the notches on his bed post with a tribe of raunchy, meretricious women from the section-8 housing projects and the holly-wood and vine corner vying for the flava flav's swarthy affection.
Just like with all reality shows (despite Flav's protests) FoL is fabricated and it is just for "T.V".
