The Mandalorian: Chapter 8: Redemption (2019)
This is the way
Fantastic Finale
Amazing tease for whats to come
There isn't much else to say
We all know this show is absolutely amazing
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Flawed Masterpiece
I loved this movie, it had a great story and really interesting reveals in it.
However I understand why people are giving it bad ratings as the story is very messy especially at the start and there are some weird/annoying decisions in the film sometimes.
But these issues didn't affect me because straight after they happened the movie was enjoyable again and I forgot about them immediately.
So The Rise of Skywalker is a Flawed Masterpiece, it has a brilliant story, stunning visuals but has a lot of messy information and one part thats a bit annoying
The Mandalorian: Chapter 5: The Gunslinger (2019)
Perfect Nostalgia with more great development for The Mando
This episode was once again absolutely amazing! The opening space fight was brilliantly made and really looked like a movie and then the parralels between Episode 4 when he arrived on Tatooinee is probably the perfect way to use nostalgia.
We get the introduction of two new bounty hunters both of which have a interesting personalities and motives and then the tease at the end of the unknown character. Could it be Boba, I have no idea but I am beyond excited to find out what happens next!
The Mandalorian (2019)
Super Fun Star Wars with interesting mysteries
Episode 1 is such a fun jump into this new part of the universe. We get some really interesting ideas and mysteries setting up the rest of the season and some amazingly fun star wars action scenes, sets and characters.
For the 1st episode of a Star Wars Show you can't ask for much more!
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
Not Breaking Bad
El Camino is real let down in my opinion. I had lots of issues with it and it is nothing compared to the brilliance of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It spends way to much time on flashbacks that are only there to explain why Jesse is doing something which isn't at all interesting as we want to see what happens after not before and is also lazy as they are just showing us.
El Camino also feels like its just an overly long episode and has a very slow pace throughout. It feels like it should have been an additonal last episode to Breaking Bad and not the 'event' Netflix was calling it. However, if it had been an episode of the show the pacing would probably been much better since the film does not need to be 2 hours but I do not think it would have fitted in anyways. With a bit of editing I could see the last scene of El Camino being the last scene of Breaking Bad anyways as we don't need an explanation of how Jesse got there.
Finally, the main antagonists in the show where really boring and there was not threat about them at all. The two policemen where not old characters so we had not connection to them and instead they where basically just bad men without any character development.
Oh and Fat Todd was really distracting.
Ad Astra (2019)
An Interesting Suprise
Ad Astra is a good movie but definitely not what I expected. It had a rather simple story but it was enjoyable because of the great visuals and even though it was slow I felt it was very useful being slow as it gave you time to think about the film and understand what's going on and make theories about the rest of the film as it is going on. And when there was action scenes they made sense in the story and definitely added to Roy's character who is very different to most main characters.
I'm going to say this again though the visuals where absolutely stunning and I especially loved the shots of planets.
I wouldn't watch this film if you are not a fan of slow paced simple stories though or if you are going to nitpick every bit of science that doesn't make perfect sense.
Black Lightning (2018)
Forgettable
I watched all of Season 1 and enjoyed it... but I literally can't remember any of it. I remember watching it a few weeks before Season 2 came out and when Season 2 came out I had literally forgot everything about the show so only watched one episode because I had no idea whats going on. So basically, I remember enjoying the show but it has no lasting affect in anyway and has a very forgettable story
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Speaking for ALL of the Prequels
Now everyone knows that the prequels got a rather large amount of hate but honestly that 10/10 is my opinion. As someone who grew up with the Prequels as a kid I obviously loved them and now when I'm getting old I still love them because I can see the genius behind each and every film and the bad things don't matter to me! Each of the Prequels have so many stand out amazing Star Wars things in them and Revenge of the Sith is an absolutely incredible film! The story of all 3 films is very interesting and suprising even though we know how it will end, the CGI is remarkable for its time and honestly still holds up now a days and the vastness of the Star Wars galaxy is really shown in the Prequels more than any of the originals or sequels. So yeah, I love the Star Wars Prequels
Captain Marvel (2019)
Boring
The movie has a weak start which trys to flood you with loads of information at once and then continues to drag out the movie for nearly 2 hours until the end battle and by that time I was too bored and couldn't enjoy it. End Credit scene was good though.
The Punisher (2017)
Its a great show!
Punisher season 1 had loads of great action and it didn't feel like there was a single filler episode because of how enjoyable every episode was! However season 2 had a great start but I did feel the middle was really boring and fillery but once you get to the last 4 or 5 episodes the show is absolutely amazing and is so fun to watch!
Pacific Rim Uprising (2018)
Goodish and Bad
The movie was sorta enjoyable but their where many flaws in it that I kept noticing. One of the most noticeable things was the jokes and some of the things the characters said because a lot of them felt really awkward and just pulled you out of the movie and most the characters where boring and interesting, however if you looked past the story it had some fun action and some interesting ideas.
Interstellar (2014)
Shocking Movie
This movie was a very bold and different movie but it was incredibe! Whenever there was something dangerous going on it really pulled you in and made you feel really intense and because its a standalone movie we have no way of knowing what happens to the characters. However the movie felt quiet slow and it took far to long for them to even get into space and probably shouldn't have been as long as it was.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Fun Movie
I loved Solo like I love all the star wars movies and I am pleased to say even though it is a story we probably didn't need it was an amazing movie and really enjoyable! Alden Ehrenreich was a perfect choice to play Han as he brought new things to the character whilst still feeling a lot like Han. The story was very interesting and the suprise of Maul at the end was done perfectly! I recommend this to any big star wars original trilogy fans as it was constantly reminding me of them.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
My Favourite Movie
In my opinion this is my favourite movie of all the movies I've seen! This movie subverted my expectations and the story was strong and was very unique and not a copy of The Empire Strikes Back which lots of people where expecting it to be. Because of this The Last Jedi gave the franchise the boost it needed to be able to carry on with Episode 9 and start new series in the Star Wars Universe. The movie looked incredible with the CGI still beating all other movies made and I never got bored when watching the movie and was always really drawn to the story.
Venom (2018)
I loved this movie
Venom is a very different movie to me because most the time I can clearly understand whether I liked the movie or I didn't but with Venom I know I enjoyed it but so much of the movie wasn't well put together and I can see many flaws in it. The pacing of the movie was the most obvious to me because Act 1 seemed to take forever and I was just sat their waiting for Eddie to become Venom but then Act 2 flew by and we hardly had enough time to meet Venom until it was Act 3 and their was the big CGI fight between Venom and Riot. However I absolutely LOVED the movie anyways because I was always laughing and whenever Venom and Eddie where together it was always really interesting and fun to watch because of how well Tom Hardy acted them both.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Bad Movie
Unlike the majority of people I honestly really disliked this movie. I felt it was far to crammed because of how many characters where in it and that Thanos was not a good villian. I believe Thanos was not a good villian because the directors made him so sympathetic that I was struggling to believe that he could do the horrible things he wanted to do because one moment he'd be crying about letting Gamora die and the next moment he'd be happily planning to wipe out half the universe! Also because the decimation (Official name for the Snap) wiped out all the new characters no one is expecting the snap to be permanent so it removes the tension of what will happen next in Avengers End Name
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Best Spiderman Movie!
I went in to this movie excited to see it but I was prepared for it not to be very good! Luckily I did not have to worry as this movie was incredible and one of the best movies I've seen! The animations where incredible and all the actors perfectly portrayed their characters. Jokes where used very well with not a single one falling flat or feeling out of place and when the movie needed to get darker or more serious it did it perfectly and never felt out of place. I left the cinema feeling much different to how I did coming in which showed the movies message of anyone being able to be Spiderman really hit me and taught the audience the right thing!
Vader: A Star Wars Theory Fan Series: Shards of the Past (2018)
I wasn't expecting much
I was always one of the people who felt unsure about the fan film and I was expecting it not to be very good which unfortunately it was in my opinion. Vader and the Emperor did not feel like their characters in the movies however I sort of understand Vader being different as he has only just left the Jedi Order but his movement and gestures felt off. The story had good twists in it but I felt it was too dull and simple which meant I was never drawn in to what was going on and the only parts that stood out to me was the CGI which for a fan film was incredible asides from when Vader was out of his suit.
